Theme or focus of images
A. This has been taken at a fashion show during one of the catwalk shows, the people
in this photo are the people attending the show in the audience and the main
subject in this photo is the model and the clothing she has on. The hair and makeup
are important to capture in this photo also because it’s all part of the show, this photo
was taken during fashion week and you can see part of the stage set up and the
style of the show.
B. This has been taken during a fashion show it’s a photo of the main catwalk it shows
three of the models but the one right in shot is the main subject in the photo it shows
the detail of the dress and all the accessories you can partly see some of the
audience also and you can see most of the stage set up including lighting and the
people. It’s been taken at fashion week.
C. Again this is at one of the fashion shows and has been taken mid show the good
thing about this photo is you can see all the press and magazine companies’
cameras as well as film cameras this shows a good behind the scenes of a catwalk
instead of just seeing the glamourous clothing and models, it was taken at fashion
week.
D. this is another catwalk show but different than the others this is a different stage set
up and different style clothing there are more than just one model in this photo this is
showing off a range of different clothes being shown here you can also see partly
some of the audience and the main catwalk. This was taken at fashion week.
E. This is yet again another fashion show with a different stage set up this photo
includes a range of different clothing styles you can see the lighting shining down also
most of the models hair and makeup which is a good thing to capture along with the

outfit, this shows a range of colours and accessories, the photographer has taken the
photo so that she gets more than one of the models in the lighting you can see the
outfit and everything to go with it better. This was taken at fashion week.
F. This photo is the most different from the others this one has been shot waist up
instead of seeing the full outfit you get a side shot of the umbrella you can see the full
effect of what it looks like when holding it you also can see the surroundings of the
catwalk and the set up and detail they went into building it all, you can also see the
audience who have been blurred out so you focus on the main subject in the photo
which is the model, the photographer has also captured the detailing like the
jewellery and the detail on the umbrella.
Composition
A. The photographer has chosen to stands slow down and shoot slightly upwards also
she has zoomed fully out to capture the whole outfit which is an important thing to
include in the photo also the photographer has chosen to include some of the
audience which makes the photo look very serious because seeing the audiences
reaction is an important part during a fashion show because the fashion designer
would want his work to get good feedback. She hasn’t chosen to include much of
the catwalk as in the whole run of it you can see slight features like the pillar in the
background.
B. The photographer has again chosen to shoot from low down to capture all of the
outfit and the lighting and atmosphere of the room you can see the whole run of the
catwalk including a few other models the photographer has chosen to include more
of the room you get more of an inside look at all the set up and audience seating.
The photographer hasn’t included much of the audience faces whether this being
that there wasn’t anyone in the photo recognizable in the fashion business that It
would be important to capture their reaction to the clothes.
C. The photographer has shot higher up and at a side view it’s not head on to the
model or it doesn’t include the full outfit she has chosen to leave out the shoes, the
photographer has though chosen to include other photographers also taking pictures
of the model it gives it a behind the scenes view on a catwalk show.
D. The photographer has chosen to shoot from the side and get more in the photo
this being more of the models and outfits she also has captured the stage set up and
catwalk itself you can see the separation from the rest of the floor, the photographer
hasn’t included the audience in this one they are too far out of the lighting to see
their faces this photo focuses more on the clothes.
E. The photographer has chosen to include more than one outfit/model she’s
included some of the setup of the catwalk and the lighting, she hasn’t included
again the audience the lighting is to centre to show the audience its look dark to
make out anything else but the main show. The photographer has taken the photo
from a higher level it slightly tilts down to show the entire outfit and fits them all in.
F. The photographer has taken to photo close up and has made it so the model is
centre of the photo, she has chosen to include the bigger features of the photo for
example the umbrella she has decided not to include the audience as she has
blurred them out and only focused on the model, she also hasn’t included the
bottom half of the outfit because to me it looks like the umbrella was the main
feature.

Techniques used
A. shutter speed normal isn’t to light or to dark, depth of field the background is part
audience part black you cant make anything out of the top half, rule of three dress is
centre
B. shutter speed is normal there isn’t much light in the room, depth of field the
background is still in focus but the camera isn’t close enough to see detail but the
model being the main feature is focused and clear, the rule of three that the dress
isn’t dead centre its slightly off to the side.
C. the shutter speed is normal isn’t to light or to dark, depth of field the background
isn’t fully blurred out but the foreground are all the camera and they are all blurred
out the main focus in the photo is the model who is perfectly clear and focused, rule
of three the dress is centre of the photo.
D. the shutter speed is normal isn’t t light or isn’t to dark the depth of field the
background is out of focus and the foreground is in focus its focusing on the models
closer enough to see detail of their outfits . the rule of thirds the centre is a group of
the models which makes you able to see their outfit because they are centred.
E. the shutter speed is normal isn’t to light or isn’t to dark, the depth of field the
background is out of focus because the models closet are the one you first look at so
they are all in the foreground and are in focus. The rule of thirds the middle of the
picture shows not much anything important.
F. the shutter speed is normal because its all natural lighting so it isn’t to light or to
dark, the depth of field all the background are the audience and they are all out of
focus because that isn’t what you are suppose to look at in the foreground is the
model who is in focus and is very clear and you can see all the details of the outfit,
the rule of thirds is the model is perfectly centred in the image which would have
been hard to get because she is walking.
Strengths & Weaknesses
A. The strengths in this photo is that it captures the reaction of the people watching it
as well as a perfect view of the model and outfit itself you can also see the
surrounding in the zoom slightly seeing the set up of the catwalk
the weakness is that it would have been better to see the front of the model because
you could see the full dress and the detail.
B. the strengths in this photo are that you can see so much in the room you can see
the stage set up with the lighting and the whole catwalk and people at either sides
also you can see the model but not only one but you can see the next one
approaching up the catwalk, the angle this has been taken at is as if your low down
looking up at the whole dress and you can see all the details and accessories to go
with it including make up and hair the most important part of a fashion show is the
clothes.
The weaknesses are it would be nice to have seen the reactions of the audience as
well so then a part of everything would be included in the photo.
C. the strengths of this photo is that you can kind of see more of a behind the scenes
look at a cat walk seeing all the cameras pointing towards the model and also the
7. Shauna Leacy
fact you can see the model and the outfit perfectly
the weaknesses is that you cant see the whole outfit including the shoes which would
be better to see the whole thing because when you go to see a catwalk show you
want to get the whole effect and see the clothes being shown
D. the strengths in this photo is that instead of just seeing the one model you can see
more at once seeing the outfits they are modelling getting to see more of the show in
a way, also you can see the whole catwalk set up.
the weakness is that you cant see the audiences reactions to the outfits which would
be an important thing to look at because its someone else’s opinion on the clothes
being modelled
E. the strengths is that you can see a mix on clothes and some of the stage set up
and slightly what the zoom looks like. The weaknesses are the fact you cant see the
whole shows presentation and only a few outfits you can properly make out in this
photo.
F. the strengths in this photo is that its taken at a nice angle because you can see
part of the outfit but the way the umbrella is held up looks good
the weaknesses are you cant see the whole outfit which at a fashion show the whole
point of the show is to see the outfits modelled.
