2. Introduction
• The NEP -2020 is contemplated to fulfill the core agenda of
SDG4 (Sustainable Development Goals), adopted by India to
ensure equitable and inclusive quality education to all by 2030.
It is surely going to impact the HEIs in many ways. This paper
seeks to list these impacts and tries to interrogate and valuate
them.

3. METHODOLOGY
• This paper analyses the core idea of a good HEI imparted by
the NEP 2020.
• The Paper is also trying to investigate the effects of various
steps taken by NEP on HEIs.
• The hypothesis is that these steps are optimistically going to
influence HEIs.
• The paper will use observational method to get its conclusion.

4. A. The NEP divides the HEIs into 3 categories.
1. Research universities.
2. Teaching Universities.
3. Autonomous Degree granting colleges.
B. The policy also encourages the institutes to run open
distance learning. Its positive and negative impacts are also
to be analyzed.

5. Conclusion
• After recognizing the existent challenges the NEP - 2020
marks many solutions to overhaul it by a thorough revamp of
the Higher Education System.
• Policy's main recommendation is to cluster the institutions in
large multidisciplinary institutes.
• The policy’s encouragement to distance learning will open
new dimensions of educational upliftment of nation and will
provide new chances to learning remote areas.
