By Saskia Rose Robbins
 I decided that the target audience for my media
product would be for both genders and around the
age between 16-24, who are middle class and
white/black British ethnicity.
 I came to my final decision through my target
audience research, as I found that the majority of the
audience who are interested in Hip-Hop/R&B music
are a mix of both genders around the similar age that
I chose and they were mainly either from a white or
black British background.
 I used the demographic from ‘Kerrang’ magazine to
profile my readers. This will be used to help mould
my magazine to accommodate statistics.
Fictional idea of what
my target audience
may look like.
I spoke to my target audience via social
networks; Imessage, BBM and Facebook
messenger. I composed messages to gain
information about what type of music
magazine they would most like to read and
what they would want them to include. I
gathered a lot of useful information from a
mix gender but similar age group. From this
information I could clearly see the type of
magazine I would need to create and the
main features I needed to include but also
personal information about their lifestyles.
 Enjoy going to concerts with friends.
 Listens to Hip-Hop/R&B through iTunes,
YouTube or the radio in the car.
 Reads music magazines similar to the genre
of my magazine.
 Uses social networking sites to communicate
with friends and to see what celebrities are
getting up to in their daily lives.
