The people who answered my
survey were mostly female,
however I intend for my
magazine to target an equal
balance of the genders.
Similarly most of the people
who answered my survey were
16-20 which is the majority of
my target group, but it would
have been useful to also have
results from people in the 21-
30 category as well.
Whilst a large amount of the
answers I gathered said that
they enjoyed pop music, which
isn’t a genre I intend to
include, there were also
additional genres such as rap,
R&B and alternative that will
be included in my magazine.
Converse and Vans were very
popular which although
mainstream, are often
associated with the
Skateboard and alternative
communities rather than high
end fashion.
I wanted my magazine to be
accessible to people from all
walks of life so it would have
been useful to get answers
from a more diverse group.
However, my results don’t
come from an entirely
Caucasian group so I can
understand the interests of
other group slightly better.
A major feature of my magazine
will be including details of live
music, especially for less
popular artists. Since my results
include people saying they
watch live local music, and visit
smaller concerts such as the O2
Academy Brixton or The
Roundhouse.
Luckily, my audience have
equally decided on minimalistic
and lots of images which gives
me the freedom to choose the
style that fits best – whatever I
do will please a large portion of
my audience.
Pastels, plain colours and
colours that match the images
were the top three colour
choice, which is again useful as
these were the styles that I
originally intended to choose for
my magazine.
I was unsure what to price my
magazine so using the question
asking the maximum price my
readers would be willing to pay
gives me a good guideline.
Instagram and Facebook proved
most popular with my audience
which means these are the sites
I will target most with my
advertising. Instagram means I
can promote with lots of images
and Facebook gives me the
chance to interact with a large
portion of my audience.
