1. Homeless Get Out The Way Essay
Move Homeless, Get Out The Way!
The Clark County city government believe that homelessness is out of control and they put policies in place to discourage it. For example, Metro
(Las Vegas police officers) may allow a "Tent City" to pop up here and there for people to live in their sleeping bags lined up along the streets near
each other, but when the word is passed down from their superiors for whatever reason to remove the homeless from certain areas (it could be a
business or casino complaining that there are too many homeless people scattered in the streets making Las Vegas look 'bummy'), they will come by
and tell everyone to leave or move somewhere else. Eventually the homeless will come back to those same areas when the 'heat' dies ... Show more

When driving over certain bridges you will see them and they look like the aqueducts in Los Angeles that you see in movies all the time, but only
a bit smaller. There are several articles that cover the homeless living in these storm drain tunnels from many reliable and not so reliable news
sources. From my perspective, the tunnels are where the "antisocial" homeless go and make shelter in their own private sector away from the
stresses and burdens of society. The storm drains were not really popular when I was there, or maybe I just didn't know about them, moreover, the
news articles try to make it seem like this is the main place where all the homeless people come to congregate and live, which is not true. I assume
these news outlets want to portray the image that the homeless live so far from the casinos and tourist areas that they cannot be seen or heard. When,
in reality, they are a subculture that is definitely a part of the city. I believe that sincehomelessness in Las Vegas have become a hot topic as of date, the
city and media outlets want to make potential visitors feel comfortable by alluding to the fact that homelessness is out of sight out of mind. The reality
is that homelessness is everywhere. They are regular people who are fully integrated in society. They visit casinos and restaurants, ride public
transportation, and sometimes hang out on the Strip selling things.

2. How Did The Us Convert To The Metric System
When the United States separated from Britain they kept the original Imperial measurement system despite disregarding the previous government. Ever
since America has used inches, feet, and yards as standard measurement. However, while the U.S. continued to use the imperial system other countries
progressed. In 1799, after the french revolution, France converted to the metric system. Invented by Gabriel Monton in France 1670, the metric system
uses common powers of ten to measure weight and lengths so that it could be conveniently used with decimals. Soon the metric system had spread
from France to Britain and most of the world. Countries now use the metric system to measure length, area, volume, mass, force, pressure, energy,
power, and temperature. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By converting to the metric system our trade would increase because there would no longer be a need to change between systems and other countries
could view the modification as making amends. It could also save millions of dollars for the U.S. because large companies like NASA would all be
on the same page using the metric system. Smaller mistakes could also be prevented by swapping to the much simpler metric system. One last thing
the change would impact is education. If kids no longer had to learn two measurement systems they would have more time to learn other material. All
in all, If america wants to prosper economically and in education then the government must make the switch to go

5. Essay On Luxury Hotel
Delhi is one of India's most popular travel destinations for a good reason. There is much to see and experience in the city with world class hotels
and some of India's most famous festival celebrations. Even for a seasoned traveller, any trip to Delhi should still be preceded with some knowledge
of the city to avoid overwhelm or an unpleasant experience for a first time visitor. Here are some things to think about:
1.Hotel Amenities
If you decide to go with luxury hotels in chanakyapuri, Delhi such as The Imperial, many of the on–site amenities will prevent the need for unnecessary
trips and can provide a memorable travel experience in themselves. The Imperial, for instance, has a spa, gym, salon and even a yoga studio where
you can get instruction on meditation from an expert. There is no need to be ripped off by street shoe shiners when the hotel can provide one for you
complimentary. You can even buy your souvenirs without having to leave the hotel. You could pick up treats from the hotel's patisserie or clothes from
the boutique.
2.Airport Transport
This is a big part of your trip to think about as it can leave you drained before your vacation has even started or take too much time and stress and ruin
your vacation. Most luxury hotels provide a shuttle service which can take as little as half an hour depending on location. Whichever method you ...

8. China’s Education System
Education is the process of learning and acquiring knowledge at school from a teacher, receiving knowledge at home from a parent, a family
member, and even friend. Education is a key that allows people to move up in the world, seek better jobs, and succeed in life. Education is one factor
that affects job positions people hold, advance in their further career, the income they make, and the title they hold. The more educated a person is, the
more prestige and power that person holds. Education improves the quality of life, reduces ignorance, and exposes frontiers and opportunities not

The similarities include administering a nationwide exam given to all the students. All students are equally evaluated based on these scores. The test is
used to determine which university students are able to attend. There are also significant differences between these exams. In America the exams are
called the SAT or the ACT. InChina it is named Gaokao. The Gaokao test is taken very seriously. This test is taken for multiple–days. Parents rent hotel
rooms nearby so their student can have a quiet lunch and take a nap. Some Chinese students go insane for this exam. They study for the Gaokao
while hooked up to IV drips. The IV drips contain amino acids which would provide the students with extra energy (Kristof). This would definitely
never be allowed in U.S. And lastly, merit pay is different in China than U.S. The Chinese believe in merit pay and in using student test scores for
teacher evaluation. For example, when the 9th graders leave middle school they are tested to see which high school they are qualified to attend. Since
the same teachers have had those students for three years, they compare their entry score to their exit score. The classes that showed the most academic
gain resulted in that banzhuren receiving a bonus that might range from 3000 Yuan to 6000 Yuan (one month or two months pay). The same is true at
the high school level. This is not the case in America. Teachers are evaluated through principals attending the classroom setting and/or

9. The United States Should Go From The Metric System
The debate on whether or not the United States should go to the metric system has been ongoing for years and still to this day the United States uses
the English System of Measurements. It includes the inch, foot, yard and mile, along with many other units of measurement. The United States is one
of three countries that still use other systems of measurement instead of going metric. The other two countries that have not adopted to using the metric
system are Liberia and Burma, also known as Myanmar.
The metric system is simply a unit of measure. It is used in medicine, science and engineering. This system makes it easier to make conversions by
moving the decimal either to the left or right. It also has stability by using prefixes and each unit has only one value, regardless of what is being
measured or who is measuring. There are fewer measures to learn in the metric system than in the English Customary System. Instead of having to
remember that there are 12 inches in a foot, 3 feet in a yard and 1760 yards in a mile, it would be much easier to multiply or divide a number by a
certain power of 10.
It would be much easier for the United States to communicate to the rest of the world by switching to the metric system. Everything that is important to
the future of our country and economy, such as industry, science business and exports, is already using the metric system. Units in the English system
of measurements such as the foot and gallon are all based on the

Corn: The Planting Of Growing a crop of corn can be very rewarding. With some hard work and a little bit of luck, it can be very profitable.
Planting corn doesn't sound too complicated, but knowing how to do it right can be the difference between losing money and making a profit. To
get started planting your field of corn, you will need access to a tractor, a field cultivator, a planter, fertilizer, seed corn and a lot of farm diesel. Of
course, you will need to own some farmland or be leasing the farming rights from the landowner. If you are fortunate enough to have farmland with
irrigation, it can diminish one of the biggest risks associated with farming. Droughts or dry spells are unforgiving, and no matter how well you prepare
the soil, you will need rain or irrigation water. Using good farming practices will ensure greater corn yields and a higher profit margin!

To get the first set of rows straight, it helps to set some markers in a straight line from one end of the field to the other as a guide to follow; this will
be best with two people. Begin by putting something that you can see from the other end of the field, at the other end of the field, measured out from
the edge of the farm to the desired distance. Usually, a five–gallon bucket will do. Then drive back towards the planter and set a marker about a
hundred yards in front of the tractor, measured out from the edge of the field the same distance as the bucket on the other end. We use cheap paper
plates buried about half way down for the markers, they break down quick in the rain and are biodegradable. We can now have someone drive back
towards the bucket and stop every couple hundred yards and set a plate in line with the others, the person left at the planter can wave him right or left

2016: the year of aesthetics. Social media has warped our perceptions of what really is, compared to what we see. It can hide the real view by only
portraying the best, most eye–pleasing angles. However, more and more aesthetic trends are coming into play. With Millennials especially, the act of
living simply, or minimally has gained popularity. Peoplewant to downscale their way of life, finding it over–complicated and not fulfilling enough.
They have started branching away from the normal mindset of getting rich and living in an over–sized, state of the arc neighborhood homes. With how
expensive education, housing and the cost of living has become, more and more are down–sizing their wants. From this comes The Tiny House
Movement, the way of life that inhibits smaller living quarters. Tiny house living can benefit those who want to experience the freedom to pack up
and go whenever, wherever; those who want to experience the financial freedom along with aesthetically pleasing designs. Tiny house living can help
the environment by how small it is. In one way or another, everyone can benefit from choosing to live simply–minimally. What actually is a tiny house,
or what is the Tiny House Movement? To put it simply, it is "a social movement where people are choosing to downsize the space they live in"
(Mitchell). This is an alternative lifestyle choice that aims towards the minimalists. To qualify as a tiny house, it must be between 100 and 1000 square
feet. However,

Wyatt Taylor
San Diego Fire Hazard
12/8/15
The four phases of San Diego's history starts the passive margin phase that took place from 400 to 200 million years ago. What is currently San Diego
started as sediment produced above an oceanic rift. This sediment became the underwater edge of the continental crust that would soon break off from
Pangaea to become the North American Continent.
The subduction phase of San Diego County's geologic past starts around 200–150 million years ago near the end of the Jurassic period when North
America Had began breaking off from Pangaea into its own continent. The North American plate began moving west into the oceanic Faralon Plate,
which was moving east. The Oceanic Faralon ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Large pools of Magma formed and cooled into Granitic rock and into what we now know as the Peninsula Range batholiths. After this period, the
angle of subduction between the faralon plate and the North American Plate flattened and this greatly slowed the formation of any more mountains
in San Diego. At 90 million years ago, the mountains that were formed in San Diego country began to erode and much of the sediment was
deposited along the shoreline, extending it to the west. At 70 million years ago, the large coastal plain created by the eroded mountains sank into the
ocean and were eroded, the Cabrillo and point Loma formations were a result of this period. Erosion continues as the subduction zone flattens and
plays even less of a role and geologic activity is relatively calm until the beginning of the extension phase. The extension phase begins around 28
million years go when the Faralon plate is replaced by the Pacific plate and subduction stops. At 20 million years ago the pacific plate begins pulling
northwest, which results in stress and tensional force for the area soon to become the Salton trough. As the North American Plate is pulled west and
north, the San Andreas Fault begins to form along with a rift valley. Some more small mountains in the Salton Trough were created as a result of
magma rising through cracks in the crust that had been thinned as a result of the tensional stress. The transformational period begins at 10

Bailey could engage in in order to improve the building. The first option would be to keep Pilgrim as a tenant in the building. By doing this he
would secure 100,000 square feet of space at $26 /sq. ft generating about $2,600,000 in rental income just from Pilgrim. Also with keeping the
space as office space, Bailey found that he would be able to fill in two out of the four floors of the atrium adding an additional 10,000 in rentable
square footage. This was something that none of the other competitors had noticed. Bailey also noticed that he would be able to renovate all 20
bathrooms within the building but that his renovation would be about 15,000 cheaper than his competitors. Continuing with the renovations, Bailey
saw that the atrium would need to be upgraded and instead of it costing him around $200,000, which would be the cost to his competitors, he had
the ability to save $50,000 by reusing the marble in the bathrooms as the floor and walls of the atrium. Taking into consideration all of the upgrades
and renovations, as well as the fact that Bailey would be able to manage the building at 0.50/ sq ft compared to his competitors which were managing
at $1.25/ sq ft, the value at which Bailey would place on keeping the building an office space would be $3,433,649.13 (see

work days have consisted of my waking up, working, coming home and hitting the sack as soon as possible. With a proper diet, I have hopes of not
only having more energy for work, but also for after work activities. There are so many things that I just cannot accomplish on my limited days off
work. It would be ideal if I could take care of stuff during the work week as well. I guess in order for me to take care of things, I must first take care of
myself by giving my body what it needs to be healthy and strong.

Cook Composites and Polymers Co. (CCP) were founded in 1990 and is a leading manufacturer of gel coats, unsaturated polyester resins, coatings
resins and emulsions. The company prides itself most in producing high–quality, custom–designed gel coats. To produce high quality gel coats, CCP
utilizes styrene as a cleaning agent for their mixing vessels because styrene performs admirably in reducing contamination. Currently, the company's
rinse styrene is collected and shipped to cement manufacturers as a source of fuel to fire their energy–intensive cement kilns. Alternatively, the company

By separating the entity from CCP, it would reduce the erosion of CCP's current brand which has always been to focus on high performance and
quality products. The $3 million investment can be spent on creating this entity and equipping it with the technical expertise required to further
research on the concrete coating, and a separate sales force to develop a market for this new product. The cost can eventually be off–set by the
estimated $5.07 million increase in profit, as mentioned previously. The separate entity need not require a new factory. Instead, CCP and this separate
entity can share physical space and resources if needed. If all the risks as mentioned above can be mitigated, CCP should proceed with the production
of concrete coating as a by–product because it brings benefits to both the environment (through CO2 reduction) and CCP (through increased profit).

30. Management Feasibility Report Essay example
Feasibility Report on Internationalisation of an Australian Company
Executive Summary
The following feasibility report on JT Toy's interest to manufacture overseas has thoroughly explored the positive and negative aspects of local
production in comparison to moving its operations to China. Manufacturing methods, such as a wholly owned subsidiary; owning and controlling a
factory in China, a strategic alliance and licensing agreements have been analysed in detail.
The evidence shows that moving part of the business to China as a wholly owned subsidiary, whilst keeping its headquarters in Melbourne would be
the most beneficial long term option. Paying royalties and dividing profit with an overseas company ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A wholly owned subsidiary in China would consequently be ideal, so long as it is a strategic/tactical long term plan.
A strategic alliance is defined as "where two or more independent organisations set up a co–operative partnership to gain mutual strategic advantage."
(Bartol, K, Tein, M, Matthews). This option would involve JT Toys aligning itself with a pre
–existing Chinese manufacturing company, and using each
other's strengths for a mutual advantage. The Chinese company could produce toys with their cheaper labour and production costs, while using the
established brand of JT Toys, as well as their vision and successful standing in the Australian market.

It was a peaceful day in a crummy condo. Kade and I were sitting in his room. An hour of AP Social Studies homework and 7th grade English

easygoing way, and the women said to us in a soft, calm voice, "We are your parents, we want to take you home". My brother and I were
abandoned when he was 6 months old. One morning my father was making me chocolate chip pancakes and the next, I was alone. Imagine a five
year old calling 911 saying your parents were abducted by aliens. That's what I wanted to believe. After I turned 10, I realized that every prayer
wasn't worth it. My parents were never coming back. My brother and I were taken to Child Services the next day and we sent to Billy and Jen's

there for me when they weren't and to take care of my brother. They left me there for a week, so I called Miss Tammy, the child services lady and
she took me to a new home. We stayed there until I turned 13. It was a group home and they gave us food, shelter, and, educational opportunities. But

Topic: Is Gaokao good or bad?
Abstract Gaokao is the currently adopted college entrance examinations in China. It has experienced six changes in structures over sixty years and was

signed up for Gaokao, and 70 million people can be admitted by Chinese universities. In general, the college acceptance rate is around 74.3% (http:/

Extra Space/Room to Stretch Out Tiny people don't feel cramped riding in coach on an airplane, and some can curl their legs up under them in
office chairs at work. Sometimes, it's just more comfortable to sit that way, especially if the office is cold. And, it may be a bit of a challenge, but
smaller folks can change clothes in tiny cars and pickup trucks. An example of this being useful is when you arrive at the beach in jeans but want to
change into shorts for a jog. Instead of having to switch clothing in a gross public bathroom, changing in the car is a more convenient option. 3. Better

39. Fear And Fear : The Fear Of Fear
Some people are afraid of heights; they simply are mortified by them. They're scared to death of even thinking about being in high places, seeing tall
buildings or structures and the very worst, actually being at a high elevation. In any of these scenarios people with alto–phobia (the fear of heights) can
often get dizzy, experience panic attacks, anxiety and a whole other host of things that would endanger them in certain situations. Luckily, I am not
one those people, because if I was, either I wouldn't have a cool story to tell or I'd be dead right now.
This little escapade happened when I was around 7 to 8 years old, I'm not entirely sure the age but it was definitely around that period. During that
time in the area in which I lived there were these kids who lived really close to me whom I used to muck around with during the summer or
whenever. This day in particular was one of those days. My childhood friend Jesiah; who was about two years older than me, wanted to go on one
of those adventures we used to go on all the time, so he grabbed another kid (whose name I have forgotten) to come along with us. What we used to
do was run through other people's backyards, but it's way more interesting than it sounds, I promise. My house was on a hill, so that the neighbors
backyards behind us was almost entirely above my house. Many of their yards had steep climbs, were sometimes very wild, and just fun to run around
in and jump from yard to yard. This time, however, we didn't just go into the usual yards we'd go in. For some reason we decided to go one block
up and come down to a certain yard that was two houses down, and towered over our house to the point that we could visibly see the roof of the two
story house to go around a garage to get to another yard next to it.
Now, this would seem tame, if it weren't for the fact that to get around the garage in the first place you had to step on a ledge that was a little less than
a foot wide, back against the wall, over a drop that would lower gradually. Mind you this in on the right side, we still hadn't gotten around to the back
yet! When we actually reached the back the other kid chickened out and went back to meet us on the other side (which was wise of him, he

Economically the Tang dynasty also implemented an equal distribution system in order to increase taxes, and production, while ensuring the livelihood

the people remained at peace until religion got involved which eventually caused the downfall of their dynasty. The Song Dynasty began in 960 and

How Tall Are You? I am tall. For my whole life I have heard people saying, "You are so tall" or "How tall are you?". I tend to respond with a simple

which fills you up for most of the day. We ate at the buffet in the morning and did not need to eat again until late at night, which is the way to go if
you are saving money for all the other activities. Compared to the giant new hotels on the strip the Imperial Palace seems seedy, but it is nicely kept,
