I don't know if it's just me but I think that when they say you have an alcohol problem because you
have more than two drinks at a time is a little bit absurd. I know a lot of people who will binge drink
on the weekends and I never really saw the adverse effects it has on a person and their well–being
but I do think it can happen. I do think it is the physician's responsibility to make the patient aware
of the effects of alcohol and drug addiction. I don't think they should preach to the patient if they
have never had any signs of using or abusing drugs and alcohol. More and more young people need
to know the risks of drugs and alcohol and how it harms the body and other people around them. I
know peer pressure plays a huge role in society today but I think if we helped teens and children see
a bit more clearly maybe there wouldn't be as much peer pressure. Parents as well as the entire
family need to make their children a lot more aware of all the side effects. I do not think that parents
talk to their children nearly enough about anything especially drugs and alcohol. People work a lot
more hours these days and when they do see their children they don't want to spend the quality time

The key legislation against racial hate crime in E&W is the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 (Iganski,
2008). The legislation requires courts to enhance sentence penalties of racially aggravated offences,

If you have ever been to Philly, you have probably passed it at one time–an old abandoned building,
which at one time was the center of Philadelphia attention. I have travelled through Philadelphia
many times and have passed this impressive Victorian style building. Despite its abandoned and
rundown appearance, I have always said that this building had so much beauty and potential. The

When I was originally starting this class I did not know what to expect the content to cover since
Intro to Counseling is such a broad title. I was actually expecting an overview of counseling
techniques, and I would not have guessed at all that a good part of the semester would be spent on
consulting techniques instead and how to be resilient in the field. I am glad that the class did cover
these topics though, because I feel that I now have a solid foundation to build the rest of the
information on that I learn during the rest of the program. One of the most important things that I
learned in this class and have incorporated into my foundation is everything that we went over in the
Resilient Practitioner book. The entire time I was an undergraduate I knew of the term burnout and I
knew that it happened to some people, but that was the extent of my knowledge on the topic. This
book taught me exactly how prevalent it can be in the helping fields and it really forced me to reflect
on what it would be like if it happened to me. I did not like thinking about this at first, in fact, I think
it is safe to say that I hated the first half of the book. It actually scared me so much initially that for a

The scent of burning nicotine mixes in with the bitter–sweet sound of silence that flows through my

By now the bus driver is drained from the chatter of about thirty or so students and adults. He's
happy to be skipping by a vacant lot filled with the promises of a house and would otherwise be
nothing if anyone but me ever bothered to get off at such a location. From the stop closest to my
block you can still see the bus go under the train station that wakes the entire block at night with its
horn and further down the street to places unknown. My block is a system of apartments, college

Back then you would consider moving to Philadelphia for a better positive environment. Philly was
known to be a place of power and glamour. Many different ethnic groups lived here, but the biggest
most successful group were the Jews. Jews settled there and made money, went to high end clubs

resulting strong, compelling report recommendations that stakeholders can stand behind and

It was critically important for me to make sure that we were also well enough resourced to take the
requisite time to consult as fully and widely as possible. Another significant element of our
consultation strategy was an emphasis on remaining flexible. This allowed us the time as a team to

Over the course of our almost 7 month consultation process, my Review team and I met with over

including police associations, commissioners, chiefs of police and police service boards; Black and
other radicalized communities, including Somali, Muslim and newcomer communities; on and off–
reserve Indigenous communities and Inuit communities, including chiefs, elders, band members,
Self–Administered First Nation Police Services representatives, and service providers; provincial
and international government agencies and officials; experts and academics; mental health

simulation played a significant role and set the tone toward the effort and attitude that each team
