The History Of Musicals On Stage Is Broad And Extensive. There
The history of musicals on stage is broad and extensive. There are many different histories of stage
musicals: French operettas, Grecian plays, and Roman comedies are just a few. However, I am going
to focus on American musicals. The musical that many Americans are familiar with has its roots in
the French and Viennese operettas of the 1800s, but take their comic style from American Variety
and Minstrel Shows, which led to Vaudeville and Burlesque shows. Known to be the first American
musical, "The Black Crook", produced in 1866, proved how profitable the musical theater could be
in the United States. After that the American musical really burst forth, with full–length burlesque
shows and British imports of musicals, like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The movie "Singing in the Rain" (1952) even offered a lighthearted depiction of Hollywood in the
late 1920s where the focus was on the transition from silent films to "talkies". From the beginning,
audiences embraced screen musicals with tremendous enthusiasm, with "The Jazz Singer" (1927)
bringing in a slew of newcomer audiences as well as the usual stage musical goers. Even though the
stock market crash of 1929 caused almost a third of movies theaters in the U.S. to shut down, the
industry survived (but barely), because the public would use the few pennies they had to go see a
film that would make them forget the Depression for an hour and a half. Because of this, film
musicals attempted to provide happy and uplifting types of musicals, but they were not extremely
successful. Fast forward to 1933, when the Warner Bros. Studios gave audiences dance–infused
musicals, including "Forty–Second Street", where Busby Berkeley took his reputation and
experience as a dance director for several Broadway shows and helped rebuild film musicals'
rapport. Due to the fact that, in the 1940s, America was fully focused on World War II in one way or
another, "Yankee Doodle Dandy" was produced in 1942 by Warner Bros. Studios, and was a musical
biography of George M. Cohan, "The Man Who Owned Broadway". This musical highlighted the
American patriotism and values that many

Codependency: Addiction and Broad Term
Codependency is defined as; of or pertaining to a relationship in which one person is physically or
psychologically addicted, as to alcohol or gambling, and the other person is psychologically
dependent on the first in an unhealthy way. Codependency is a very broad term that can encompass
a vast range of feelings and emotions but is always more focused on someone else. For instance, if
someone goes to eat with a group of people but does not actively help in the decision making of
where to eat, they are fine with where everyone else wants to go. They show a meek personally and
would rather someone else make all the decisions. A codependent person can be overzealous in
trying to help someone. They believe they are helping but in ... Show more content on

I don't know if it's just me but I think that when they say you have an alcohol problem because you
have more than two drinks at a time is a little bit absurd. I know a lot of people who will binge drink
on the weekends and I never really saw the adverse effects it has on a person and their well–being
but I do think it can happen. I do think it is the physician's responsibility to make the patient aware
of the effects of alcohol and drug addiction. I don't think they should preach to the patient if they
have never had any signs of using or abusing drugs and alcohol. More and more young people need
to know the risks of drugs and alcohol and how it harms the body and other people around them. I
know peer pressure plays a huge role in society today but I think if we helped teens and children see
a bit more clearly maybe there wouldn't be as much peer pressure. Parents as well as the entire
family need to make their children a lot more aware of all the side effects. I do not think that parents
talk to their children nearly enough about anything especially drugs and alcohol. People work a lot
more hours these days and when they do see their children they don't want to spend the quality time
preaching to them about things like drugs, alcohol, sex and all of the other things parents tell their
kids. In conclusion to my perspective I just think that we ultimately need more preventive treatment
so that we don't have to spend so much money trying to make people better

Mental Illness Is A Broad Category
Mental illness is a broad category, that encompasses many different types of illnesses, and can affect
anyone at any time. This illness is on a continuum, that can affect one patient differently than
another patient. A mental status of an individual is associated with many factors that play into this
person's daily life. Mental illness can cause an individual to feel isolated, hopeless, and worthless;
therefore, result in other forms of mental illnesses or conditions to occur. Many of these individuals
may turn to drugs, self–harm, or even complete suicide. This could be because, they are trying to get
rid of the pain that these mental illnesses are causing them. These individuals are told by their
doctor, that they have an illness that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An interesting thing to note, is that animals do not judge or discriminate against these individuals,
therefore making this therapy a satisfactory option for helping an individual. Animals will be there
for these individuals, and act as someone for these people to talk to; which is exactly want an
individual with mental health needs. They need someone to be there, listen, and love them
unconditionally. Not judge them, and/or tell them what they should or should not do. There are
many different types of animals that will do just that, and therefore, ATT is not just limited to cats
and dogs; ATT can be horses or rabbits as well. The article, "Effectiveness of animal–assisted
therapy: A systematic review of randomized controlled trails", compared a group of inpatients that
have schizophrenia, and found the dog treatment groups, helped significantly improve the
individual's positive and negative symptoms associated with schizophrenia, improved these
individuals living skills, and improved their social contact (Kamioka et al., 2014). These animals,
whether, it is dogs, cats, or horses have an element of spirituality that is difficult for a therapist to
sometimes to delve into because of boundaries or walls that are difficult to get passed, therefore
resulting in a barrier for improving these patient's overall health. A nurse, J.B., who uses horses as a
form of ATT for individuals with mental illness, has noticed many interesting things that occur with

Writing Across A Broad Spectrum
Getting to know Waiwai, with regards to the world of anthropology, is a traditional ethnography. A
subject for those with little anthropological background it delivers a general account of the 'Indian'
way of life, providing an insight in to the world of the Wayapi. Intended for those with an interest in
Amazonia, Campbell provides a refreshing if not unorthodox encapsulation of the Wayapi culture.
Writing across a broad spectrum, Campbell is sententious yet objective in this philosophically
orientated text. During its time of publication it was seen as a change in the direction of
ethnography, being shortlisted for the 1996 McVities Scottish writers prize. Political, thought
provoking and indubitably brave Campbell gives an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As he becomes active member, he gains a penetrating insight in to tribal life in aspects of hunting,
gardening and manioc production. Distinctive in comparison to descriptive ethnography the book
follows eight chapters, abstract in their initial headings such as "At Long Hammock", "Other
Voices" and "Romance". Campbell develops a self–reflective nature of writing which embedded
throughout the chapters gives a new elevation to anthropological literature. Throughout the book
there is a clear opposing ideology towards the missionary work and especially that of the FUNAI.
They as Campbell puts, aim for the 'integration' of Indians towards greater society. He condemns the
both subtle and unsubtle attempts at invading the Wayapi's physical and moral way of life (Giving
shotguns in exchange for bow and arrows). Campbell incontrovertibly most reflective when talking
about romantic motives, he self–indulges in his own fantasies or ideals towards the preservation of
the Amazon and Wayapí culture. Campbell is at times evanescent, falling trap to his romanticism,
yet defiant to the end in his views. Desperately passionate and charming he evokes a contagious
belief that the Wayapí do not need us, they are self–dependent, and from that Campbell feels we are
to learn from them. The book in its entirety is retrospective. Campbell reflects on the convoluted
relationship between the Wayapí and the

A Broad Spectrum Of Eating Disorders
There is a broad spectrum of eating disorders. Bulimia nervosa (BN), anorexia nervosa (AN) (two
basic types, restrictive (ANR) and binge–purge (ANBP)), and binge eating disorder (BED). People
with eating disorders often have a morphed perception of their body. Often they feel the need to be
perfect, and when they do not look perfect to themselves they feel great shame. Which in effect
causes suicide ideation, because they feel they do not deserve to live. It appears that eating disorders
may carry the highest suicide risk of any psychiatric disorder.
Recent studies show that BN has greater suicide rates than AN. In past studies it was the opposite.
BED still has the lowest suicide rate. Some argue as to whether or not one particular ED has a
greater risk of suicide than another, but all agree that those with an ED are at a risk of attempting
suicide. Research has found that ED may derive from traumatization, such as self–harm, depression,
impulsiveness, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), dissociation, substance use, and somatization.
Previous studies consistently demonstrate that impulsive behaviors are more prevalent in ANBP
compared with ANR. Drug use, laxative abuse, and other impulsive behaviors have previously been
associated with suicidality in BN and ANBP participants. Binge–purging is linked with impulsivity,
which is linked with higher rates of suicide; therefore, most people with ED that have this, such as
BN or ANBP, might have a greater risk of attempting

My Worldview Is Broad
The first word that comes to my mind when I hear worldview is broad. Broad comes to mind
because everyone has their own worldview and I believe that the broader your worldview is more
knowledge you have on how the world works. There are so many different cultures in the world that
if you have a narrow worldview you will never truly understand the place in which we live. I think
broad also pops in my head because I like to hope the older and more experiences you have you're
worldview only continues to grow from the narrow worldview you have when you are very young.

Broad-Scale Effects Of Hypoxia
Broad–scale effects of Hypoxia on benthic community structure in Chesapeake Bay, USA Hypoxia
defines as oxygen deficiency that had influence benthic communities through time. In broad–scale
effects of hypoxia it had studied that it has positive and negative result in the ecosystem. Organisms
living near the seabed commonly called benthic organism mostly depends nutrients from inorganic
material such as oxygen. Critical decrease of oxygen may lead to the alteration of benthic density,
biomass and diversity. In Chesapeake Bay, USA, hypoxia is typically a summer phenomenon
according to Seitz et.al due to the runoff, sinking of algal blooms, high benthic respiration and
stratification of water. Severity decrease of oxygen leads to hypoxic stress wherein flux in the
ecosystem levels were observed. Though main effects are adverse such as reduction of benthic
species abundance and biomass it also attributes a change in behavioral response of benthic

food web and can made organism susceptible for predation due to the migration process as natural
behavioral response of benthic organisms. Therefore this study is a good research study case

A Broad Sense Of Evil
On a daily basis we often see horrible, evil events unfolding on our evening news channels. Often
we ask ourselves, how can a person be so heartless and cruel? We do not understand why people
could do these things. From beheadings, neglecting children, killing innocent people, raping young
girls, terrorizing innocent people, how can people commit these horrible things? What do they use as
justification? Why is so hard for us to understand? Can they be forgiving? Is it a psychological issue
or is it an ethical issue? Can it be analyze using a theological perspective? Does a person past or
experiences play a role? Is there such a thing as evil? If so, is there a relationship between evil and
other moral concepts such as badness and wrongdoing? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The broad concepts focus on all the bad state of affairs, wrong doings, wrongful actions or character
flaws. The broad sense of evil is further divided into two categories: natural evil and moral evil.
Natural evils are defined as "bad state of affairs which do not result from the intentions of
negligence of moral agents" (The Concept of Evil). For instance: earthquakes and stomachaches are
examples of natural evils. Moral evils are defined as actions result from "the intentions or
negligence of moral agents. Killing people and raping young girls are example of moral evils. Evil
in general can be seen using theological contexts such as the problem of evil. "The problem of evil
is the problem of accounting for evil in a world created by an all powerful, all–knowing, all good
God (The Concept of Evil). This often raises the question of is there really an all powerful God, if so
why are there evils in the world? According to Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, there are six
main types of evil character or evil personhood. 1. The first character known as the frequent evildoer
and dispositional accounts defines the concept of evil action is the root concept of evil, while the
concept of evil character is a derivative concept. 2. The second one is known as the affected –base
accounts. According to the affected based accounts, evil people have certain sorts of feelings and
emotions. Philosopher Colin McGinn states that, "an evil character is one that derives pleasure from

The Broad Collection Essay
The Broad Collection is a contemporary art museum being built in downtown Los Angeles. When
completed, it will showcase Eli and Edythe Broad's art collection, consisting of nearly 2,000
prominent works of art. The building's façade was designed to look honeycomb–like and include a
glass curtain wall. Seele Inc., a Germany–based engineering company, was hired as a subcontractor
to begin work on the facade in 2012, after spending three months consulting with the New York City
architecture firm of Diller, Scofidio + Renfro, who created the original renderings. The Broad
Collection is now suing Seele, alleging that the engineering firm put the project at least 15 months
behind schedule. Additional claims against the engineering firm include breach of contract, specific
performance, and fraud in the inducement. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

design." Seele suggested using precast concrete, instead of the lighter, agreed–to fiber–reinforced
concrete. Use of Seele's suggested heavier material was impossible considering Los Angeles' special

Concepts Of Broad Banding And Competencies
Broad banding, competencies, and de–jobbing have been introduced as a means of overcoming the
restrictions of the traditional system. The concepts of broad banding and competencies are simply a
recalibration of the existing pay scales to offer organizations the flexibility to adjust and meet
change (Daley 2012, 122). The scales are compressed from a larger number to a small number of
pay grades. Individuals can take any of the previously lower grade duties without loss of pay or
prestige. Competencies have much in common with personality traits. By highlighting skills and
competencies instead of task and behavior the organization is targeting the very things it needs to do
to succeed. By assuring that employees possess the competencies to ... Show more content on

Broad banding is the most realistic alternative to the traditional position classification system and
the most popular and radical reform (Naff 2003, 141). A career system is necessary to focus
individual attention on the long–term strategic issues facing an organization. Rank–in–position
systems have shown the benefit of recruiting talent from outside the organization as well as
providing current employees with significant outside experience. It is easier to select from
candidates within the organization which presents a danger of blinding the organization to "what is
going on in the world at large" (Daley 2012, 124). The most important issue in selection is
determining the validity of the selected method (Scroggins et al. 2008, 186). General mental ability
tests, or intelligence tests have proven to be nearly the best indicator of a candidate's ability to
perform a specific job (Partnership for Public Service 2004, 4). However, this type of test has also
been proven to have different results on different groups. Different racial groups perform differently
on intelligence tests, particularly IQ tests (Scroggins et al 2008, 193). Intelligence tests have
considerable predictive validity when it comes to employees ' future productivity and job success.
Differences on mean and distribution of IQ can be used as efficiency

Broad Construction Of The Constitution Essay
History is a major part of a country and its citizen's heritage. However, America's heritage is a short
yet confusing one with different events and opinions argued as its true beginning as a sovereign
nation. Although historians argue that the Spanish settlement of St. Augustine in Florida marks the
start of American History, the written Constitution and development of a government more
accurately reflects the beginning because this shows the beginning of an organized, connected and
strong nation.
According to Albert P. Blaustein, "It can easily be argued that America's most important export has
been the Constitution of the United States." (Blaustein). The American Constitution is a building

Milanich, "In 1565 Spain established the earliest permanent European settlement in North America

the Spaniards anchored in Florida, they did not mean to colonize or begin a new nation separated
from Europe, or even their native Spain. Instead, they chose to claim the area of land that they had
settled on, for Spain. The Spanish did not consider themselves "Americans" but as Spaniards,
claiming new land and protecting it for their country. To be a Spaniard, or African, living in San
Agustín during the 1500s meant isolation from the outside world, inadequate supplies, constant
threat of attack from Indians or the French (which occurred in 1568), and a lack of female

Analysis Of Proposition Of Rational Expectations,...
CHAPTER ELEVEN
STUDY WITH INVARIANCE PROPOSITION OF RATIONAL EXPECTATIONS
11.1 Introduction The concept of Invariance Proposition of Rational Expectations, developed by
Lucas, Sargent and Wallace in early seventies, presents the idea that the anticipated part of money
supply affects price level. Since the present work is devoted to study the relationship between
money supply and price level, the Invariance Proposition theory of rational expectation can be
applied to examine the relationship between anticipated money supply and price level. In order to
apply Invariance Proposition theory in examining the impact of anticipated money supply on price
level, we need to estimate the anticipated money supply.
There are several procedures to estimate the anticipated money supply; the present study has applied
ARIMA structures of narrow and broad money supply for the estimation of anticipated money
supply. After identifying anticipated money supply, a regression equation has been performed taking
price level as dependent variable and anticipated money supply as explanatory variable.
11.2 ARIMA Model for M1 Money Supply
In order to quantify anticipated money supply, the ARIMA model has been applied. For this purpose
equation (11.1) has been employed for ARIMA structure for M1 money supply, on the basis of
which the anticipated M1 money supplies has been quantified. 〖dLnM〗_1t=α+β_1 〖dLnM〗

Pat Conroy Lord Of Discipline Analysis
In The Lords of Discipline, Pat Conroy accurately shows how the misuse of power and idealistic
beliefs of acceptance can be catastrophic and even deadly. "My entrance to this marsh–haunted city

South of Broad Street, is a feast for the human eyes. But to me, Charleston is a dark city, a
melancholy city, whose severe covenants and secrets are a powerful and beguiling as its elegance,
whose demons dance their alley dances and compose their malign hymns to the side of the moon I
cannot see. I studied those demons closely once, and they helped Kill off the boy in me", (Conroy,

Louise Bourgeois : Broad Strokes
Art can be seen as something magical to one and it can be made almost out of anything. Six artists
from the book Broad Strokes have created artwork to share with the world. These six artists all have
something in common, they have all had loved ones that they have lost. Louise Bourgeois was one
of these six artists and her mother had died with an illness that had haunted Bourgeois. "When
Bourgeois mother died in 1932 (ah, these dead mothers!), she abruptly switched from studying math
at the Sorbonne to studying art" (pg 128). Louise Bourgeois has touched hearts with amazing
sculptors that she has made. Her sculptures were influenced as a reminder of her mother. She
sculpted a spider that now stands in New York city, this spider symbolized a lot of meaning to her,
she stated "The Spider is an ode to my mother. She was my best friend. Like a spider, my mother
was a weaver....Like spiders, my mother was very clever. Spiders are friendly presences that eat
mosquitoes" (pg 133). Another artist was Ana Mendieta, she was the only artist that had experienced
a lot of abuse growing up and it made a rebel out of her. Mendieta was known for making beautiful
sculptors in the landscape, due to her abuse, she no longer had a motherland to turn to. She decided
to join with earth to help return to her womb. Mendieta had no relationship with her mother. "Born

The Broad Adoption Of A Legislative Framework
Analysis
Within E&W there is no specific mention of hate crime legislation; however there is the broad
adoption of a legislative framework, focusing on a human rights perspective; inclusive of both
minority and majority groups (Giannasi, 2008). E&W's legislative approach allows for the
following:
1. Enhanced sentencing – courts are obligated to enhance sentences, if proven a crime was
motivated by hostility based on race/religious grounds.
2. Incitement legislation – the criminalisation of acts where an offender insinuates hatred on the
grounds of race or religion.
3. Specific offences – introduction of specific offences which are hate crimes.

Saucier et al's (2006) research into the victimisation of hate crime, did however find that victims felt
penalty enhancements offered more appropriate punishment.
The key legislation against racial hate crime in E&W is the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 (Iganski,
2008). The legislation requires courts to enhance sentence penalties of racially aggravated offences,
beyond sentences required for non–racial equivalents (ibid). This act for enhanced sentencing
requires two tests to be applied in order to prove 'hostility' (Mason, 2014, cited in Hall et al, 2014).
The first test assesses motivation, whilst the second requires evidence that an offender
'demonstrated' racial or religious hostility before, during or after an offence (ibid). This evidence is
usually provided within manifestation of verbal or written communication being submitted before a
court (ibid).
Burney and Rose's (2002) research for the Home Office raised concerns surrounding what did or
didn't amount to racial motivation, particularly in cases when the racially aggravation was added to
the substantive offence, rather than the cause. The research identified the vast majority of
prosecutions rely upon proof that the offender demonstrated such hostility rather than proof that the
offender was actually motivated by hostility to commit the offence (ibid).

Division Of Labor : A Broad Sense
Division of labor in a broad sense – system of different types of work, and also system of public
relations between them. According to Marx social division of labor dismembers human activity on
such partial functions and operations, each of which in itself doesn 't possess nature of activity any
more and doesn 't act as a way of reproduction by the person of his social relations, his culture, his
spiritual wealth and herself as persons. Such is division material and spiritual (intellectual and
physical), the performing and operating work, separation of the city from the village, functions
practical and ideological, etc. Marx considered that division of labor inevitably grows to class
division. Together with division of labor also the person is divided. He considered that this
"mutilation" of the person increases in the same measure in what division of labor grows. Matter not
only that division of labor does specialization ugly narrow, and even not in fixing to the person of a
certain profession, and that the individual joins in social communication not as the personality, and
as the carrier of a certain function, as labor of a certain quality. He acts as the character with from
the outside the dictated role. Capitalism brings all contradictions of job specialization and its
consequences to an extreme aggravation. The material and cultural wealth created by people, and
also the public relations leave from under their control and begin to dominate over them. Job

Comparing The Broad Museum And The Exeter Library

share the history of collecting and preserving our cultural heritage and have recognizably similar
features. This makes the comparison between the Broad Museum and the Exeter Library very
interesting. Even though both buildings are from different centuries, they have some similarities and
differences.
The Exeter Library was designed by Louis Kahn, which is one of the most important and visually
austere buildings that Kahn built, for the high school community at Phillips Exeter Academy in

In a like manner, the Broad museum is 120,000–square–foot which is quite similar to the Exeter

interior walls directing the void to the center of the building, while the design concept of the Broad
museum has non–symmetric internal walls based on the activity for each space and the circulation
of the building to motivate people to walk throughout the spaces and to give motivation and interest

The Broad museum is a contemporary art museum in downtown Los Angeles. The museum is home
to 2,000 works of art in the Broad collection, which is among the most prominent holdings of
postwar and contemporary art worldwide. With its innovative "veil–and–vault" concept, the
120,000–square–foot, $140 million building features two floors of gallery space to showcase the
Broad's comprehensive collection. Inside the museum there is a escalator ride from the lobby level
to the exhibition space on the third floor. The purpose of this is too separate visitors from the city
and from their cares, cars and concerns; allowing the mind to rebirth itself into a state of greater
focus and spiritual expectation. The Broad features artworks from Jeff Koon, Charles Ray, Jean–
Michel Basquiat's, Robert Therrien, Takashi Murakami and Goshka Macuga. The 5th Annual Art
Exhibition displayed the works created by advanced art students at USD. At the exhibit there was a
variety of paintings, graphic designs and video installation and the purpose was to give "the viewer a

My first impression of the museum was that I thought the design of the building was nice and before
I knew anything more about the museum I knew that it was a contemporary art museum from the
architecture. Once inside we weren't sure where we should go first, some people went into the gift
shop and some followed other people up the escalator to the third floor where the majority of their
artworks were displayed. There were some pieces that I very much liked and others that I thought
were just expensive and made to show off. But my overall impression of the museum was good.
About two months later I went to the art exhibit at USD. This exhibit was much smaller but very
well done. I liked how everything was arranged. I thought the art works complemented each

States a position on whether broad banding can be successfully competitive in selected work
environment.
Broad banding is known for taking different salary grades and combining them into only a few
different bands with bigger ranges usually resulting in one minimum wage and on maximum wage
for the band, these bands usually include a wide variety of various jobs it is hard to establish a
midpoint (Milkovich, Newman, & Gerhart, 2011).
Using broad banding as a compensation plan most definitely has not only its advantages for
companies and employees but has disadvantages for companies and employees that go hand in hand
with the advantages.

Sports Management : A Broad Industry
1.1 Career Interests Sport management is a broad industry that offers many different opportunities in
different aspects of the industry. My personal interests deal more with the business aspect of sport,
specifically the financial aspect of the industry. The economics of sports is what interests me the
most. How sport organizations earn their revenue, how the salaries of players and coaches play a
role, the revenue earned by the sporting venues, and how do organizations handle their costs are all
things that I would like to figure out and be a part of. The sport industry drives from the economics
associated with the industry and how much revenue is coming in as opposed to the costs associated
with the industry. If there is no revenue coming in or no good balance between revenue and
expenses, that means that nobody is buying into sports whether it be fans, investors, or companies
willing to pitch in for an organization. If there is not a good control of the finances in the industry,
that means that there is no sport industry and I want to be a part of maintaining a good control of the
finances for a sport organization. Whether it be a professional team or maybe a collegiate program, I
want to become an important part of the team by helping to maintain financial stability.
1.2 Personal Strengths Most of what I bring to the table is a good attitude and professionalism to
whatever my position is. Personally speaking, I tend to get along well with others and I rarely get

The Center Of Philadelphi The Tower Of Terror
If you have ever been to Philly, you have probably passed it at one time–an old abandoned building,
which at one time was the center of Philadelphia attention. I have travelled through Philadelphia
many times and have passed this impressive Victorian style building. Despite its abandoned and
rundown appearance, I have always said that this building had so much beauty and potential. The
outside of the building has intricate arching and architecture, and has eye–catching brick and stone
detailing. Driving down Broad Street, going from North Philly towards the center of downtown, my
eyes always drifted to the left to stare at this building–a structure somewhat resembling the "Tower
of Terror" from Disney World. After passing this building various times, my mind began to question
if this building was at one time a well–kept and prosperous place. As I passed this building once
more, I took note of the rickety sign that sits on top of the building that reads "Divine Lorraine
Hotel". I began research on the hotel and had never envisioned the history which stands behind that
old desolate building. At one time, the Divine Lorraine Hotel was the place to live in Philadelphia.
Broad Street was a populated and flourishing area in the city. So what is the history behind this
building and what ever happened to the Divine Lorraine Hotel? The hotel of striking architecture,
through years of history, fell to shambles after being one of the most successful hotels in
Philadelphia.

A Broad Look at Afghanistan
Culture The definition of a culture has changed drastically over the history of people trying to define
it. The common theme that resides in most definitions is the notion that a group of people whose
knowledge and behaviors are learned and passed down from generation to generation. The question
is what determines the development of these behaviors and beliefs of a particular culture. This is a
question that has no clear cut answer, despite the extensive research that has been conducted in this
field of study. (Defining Culture) When examining a little closer one must realize that the views of
that culture are constantly changing and evolving because the people are consistently growing and
adapting into something ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the climate is mostly dry, the winters are fairly cold with light precipitation, and the

Afghanistan is a very mineral rich nation, which include gold, coal deposits, silver, lapis, natural
gases, salt, iron ore uranium, zinc, chrome, sulfur, oils and rubies. Minerals are not the only resource
of the country; they cultivate many food products as well. "Major sources of cash income are cotton,
sugar beets, sugar cane, wool, and par excellence karakul skins" (Wilber Pg. 224). Now transitioning
from the countries resources there are some surprising aspects of Afghanistan that are not widely
known. Although it's considered a third world country, they have transportation and communication
systems similar to the United States, just not on the same scale. Some examples of countries the
communications systems are internet, television, mobile phones, and radio. Transportations involve
airports, highways waterways, railroads harbors and ports. There is a lot to this small county than
meets the eye. Now let's move on to the contrasts between the United States and Afghanistan.

Counseling, A Broad Title
When I was originally starting this class I did not know what to expect the content to cover since
Intro to Counseling is such a broad title. I was actually expecting an overview of counseling
techniques, and I would not have guessed at all that a good part of the semester would be spent on
consulting techniques instead and how to be resilient in the field. I am glad that the class did cover
these topics though, because I feel that I now have a solid foundation to build the rest of the
information on that I learn during the rest of the program. One of the most important things that I
learned in this class and have incorporated into my foundation is everything that we went over in the
Resilient Practitioner book. The entire time I was an undergraduate I knew of the term burnout and I
knew that it happened to some people, but that was the extent of my knowledge on the topic. This
book taught me exactly how prevalent it can be in the helping fields and it really forced me to reflect
on what it would be like if it happened to me. I did not like thinking about this at first, in fact, I think
it is safe to say that I hated the first half of the book. It actually scared me so much initially that for a
second I questioned why I ever wanted to go into this field, when it sounded like there were so many
negative aspects to it. I had never thought about how hard simple things like Skovholt's cycle of
caring would be to do on a regular basis. Some other concepts that either surprised

TV Shows: Broad City
Broad City is by far one of the most hilarious shows currently on TV. This Comedy Central show
follows the hijinks of Abbi and Ilana, two twenty–something girls living in NYC, and the results are
too good to miss. Whether you've just discovered this comedy gem or you're an avid fan, here are
ten facts about the show you never knew.
Number Ten: Broad City Was Originally A Web Series
Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer actually started the TV show as a web series several years ago. You
can still catch some of the original wepisodes on YouTube which feature a few familiar plot lines
they reused for the TV show.
Number Nine: Abbi And Ilana Are The Actor's Real Names

After holding onto the show for over a year, they ended up releasing it. Thankfully, Comedy Central
scooped it and we were blessed with this hilarious and relatable TV show about our two favorite
ladies.
Number Three: Abbi And Ilana Are Much Older IRL
Abbi and Ilana are much older in real life than they are in the show. Ilana is 28 and Abbi is 32. The
characters the pair created for the show are apparently based on the younger versions of themselves
when they met at ages 22 and 19.
Number Two: Guest Star Alia Shawkat's Episode Was Based On A Semi–Real Life Experience
Who doesn't love the episode where Ilana pretty much falls in love with herself by hooking up with
doppelgänger, Alia Shawkat? I know I do. But what's hilarious about this episode is that when Abbi
first met Ilana IRL, she actually mistook her for the Arrested Development star. Perhaps that's where
the creators got the idea for this episode. Good thing Shawkat was down to guest star.

Components 2 : Ethics And Culture Essay
Component 2: Ethics & Culture: International trade has boomed over the past three decades. Since
1990, the number of multinational corporations in the world has grown from 30,000 to more than
63,000 (Kotler, P. & Armstrong, G. p.552). According to different experts becoming a global
company is a big feat, but it is important to improve the overall growth potential of a company. To
convert a successfully business from domestic to international, a company will need to consider a
set of factors that might not affect a local company. For example, factors as ethics & culture. These
factors must be considered carefully by Jamb Juice. One of Jamba Juice's strategies is to continue to
expand through franchise opportunities and continue to create new markets. One of these new
markets can be Uruguay. Uruguay is located in the middle east of South America, between
Argentina to its west and Brazil to its northeast. Three–quarters of the country have low–lying
landscape which is grassland, ideal for cattle and sheep raising. Also, this territory is suitable for
agriculture, and forestry. These activities are the most important source of exports or the country.
This activities are possible because Uruguay has a privileged climate. Its climate is warm and
humid, in summer (December to February) the temperatures ranging between 72 and 90 degrees
Fahrenheit, and winter (June to August) between 41 and 59 degrees Fahrenheit. It has a population
of 3,323,906 inhabitants and

The Broad World Of American Theatre
The broad world of American theatre has long been a haven for playwrights wishing to explore
progressive and modernistic themes that seem to test society's willingness to adapt. From the rise of
the curtain to the final bow, theatre audiences witness characters "negotiate their identities and
desires within society," while maneuvering around life's complex and ephemeral nature (Dorsey 1).
Historically, the theatre has been an open and welcoming arena for the LGBTQ community, offering
an outlet of solace and hope while simultaneously enabling the community to showcase the
hardships and oppression generations of homosexuals have faced. Nevertheless, the LGBTQ theatre
has seen ongoing evolutionary changes in the themes presented through the plays ever since its birth
in the early 1900s. As Alan Sinfield stated in Out on Stage: Lesbian and Gay Theatre in the
Twentieth Century, "changes in theatre as an institution interact with shifts in ideologies of gender
and sexuality" (Sinfield 1). Thus, as a result of society's changing views towards the LGBTQ
community, the historical and contemporary gay theatre has evolved significantly to incorporate and
present ideas unique to the era in which the plays were produced. To understand the development of
contemporary gay cinema, one must first recognize the true definition of LGBTQ theatre. Critic Joe
Jeffreys states that "plays with central characters that are LGBT[Q] or deal in a substantial fashion
with themes or issues of same–sex

The scent of burning nicotine mixes in with the bitter–sweet sound of silence that flows through my

The 39 bus must first pass through the forever booming Broad street where there just may never be a

block you can still see the bus go under the train station that wakes the entire block at night with its
horn and further down the street to places unknown. My block is a system of apartments, college
houses, and rented homes. Simply taking a step across the street is like taking a step into another
part of the city, I'd like to think each house has to be different from the one both across and next to it
to lighten the fact that they're all completely grouped together. This, in particular, makes my street
special because another two to four streets down in almost any direction you begin to notice row
homes with the same color. The colors of my street start of with a gray house on the corner which is
a college house with only one student who is rarely seen due to, of course, being in college. The

out of a clown car, too many to be in such a small area. The green house is just about the same as the

that's just on the first floor. The chain of children and adults goonto the black house where the

The Broad Therapeutic Goals
The broad therapeutic goals are to ultimately help the client live a fulfilling life, without the
maladaptive thoughts that they are having, which brought them to therapy. This ultimate goal can be
accomplished by changing the client's current thoughts, which are causing them unease, to more
positive and/or healthy ones. Clients need to examine how they dealt with situations in the past, and
determine what worked, and what did not, so that they can change the strategies that didn't work.
When clients realize that they can change their thoughts, this will trickle down and change their
emotions and behaviors as well. Once they understand this, it will help them to live healthier lives.
One of the goals is also to equip the client with the necessary tools so that they can cope with
situations on their own. Some techniques that are central to this orientation are, having very clearly
defined action plan. This will help with the direction of the therapy, which the client has agreed on
and helped to establish. I also believe that inventories are very helpful, because they can help to
identify any problems that the client has not raised. They are also useful for helping to determine
what type of goals should be pursued, or if there's a more immediate problem, which the client has
not, mentioned, or is not aware of. Inventories also provide a good base, and can provide useful
information about the client, as well as help to assess the client's mood. The inventories should not

Defining The Broad Scope of Artist
What is art? As I continue to develop my skills and contemplate their purpose, my initial analysis
has not only shifted, but expanded in complexity. Acquired through our growth into modernism, art
has manifested a certain dependence on theoretical discourse. German Philosopher Arnold Gehlen
proposes that art's 'need for explanation' is derived from its 'difficulty' or otherwise inaccessibility to
the public; implying that although art is always human, human is not always artist. The exclusivity
of the art–world supports this notion as it is categorized and defined by a hierarchal pattern of
thought development: from initial Spectator, to Theorist, to Artist – in a sense, paralleling the core
pattern of the human condition and artistic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
"The famous pipe; how people reproached me for it! And yet, could you stuff my pipe? No, it's just
a representation, is it not? So if I had written on my picture "This is a pipe", I'd have been lying!" –
by surrealist painter Rene Magritte; on Treachery of images – in which a representative image of
pipe is underlined with the French–equivalent phrase 'this is not a pipe.' The theoretically–informed
spectator is then entrusted by the benighted audience to legitimize the artistry of the piece by
providing and outline for interpretation. I imagine these assertive theoretical perspectives are as
helpful to the audience as they are irritating to the artist. Theories, by definition are limiting. Once a
piece of art is contextualized under the intellectual bias of an established thinker, there is a tendency
for further interpretation to become obsolete. It is my belief that – in regards to Art – theories are
counterproductive to their goal. They disseminate a bias that sabotages the individual experience
rather than enhancing it. For the artist of 2014, however, the formulation of a personal theory or
understanding is becoming more vital than ever. Referencing earlier times – as exemplified
throughout Classicism, Neo–classicism, Romanticism etc. – artistry belonged to those who practiced
towards perfecting the traditional techniques passed on from previous generations; little, if

Two Broad Categories Of Abortion
There are two broad categories of abortions: spontaneous abortions and induced abortions. A
spontaneous abortion is any pregnancy where the fetus does not have the ability to survive or is born
before the 20th week of pregnancy. Spontaneous abortion usually takes place before the 13th week
of pregnancy and takes place in at least 15–20% of all known pregnancies. In a spontaneous
abortion, the death of the fetus is accidental. In an induced abortion it is intentionally killed. This is
also called an artificial or therapeutic abortion.

Broad Agreements Pros And Cons
Broad agreement is an agreement between multiple people. Whether it's reason is good or bad, the
choice of the people as a whole is what matters the most. The name of the article chosen for this
essay is "Broad Agreement Emerges That, With Right Set Of Policies', Global Migration Can Boost
Development, as Historic Debate Concludes". The broad agreement is inaccurate. It is inaccurate
because it voice, "...migration was no substitute for development, as many migrants were forced to
seek work abroad due to poverty, conflict and lack of human rights in their home countries." This is
false because immigrants help the USA's economy. They start businesses and these businesses help
others become employed. Broad agreement impacts the lives of today. This ties to broad agreement
today. Right now Donald Trump is making presidential speeches and campaigns. In his speeches he
talks about getting rid of immigrants and how they aren't good for America. Those who are willing
to vote for him have a broad agreement on this topic. The republicans agree on getting rid of
immigrants, whether it be a few who don't this topic is a broad agreement to republicans and Trump.

The Broad Term Of Freedom
To start with, I would like to discuss about the broad term of "freedom" in a democratic society. We
have always defined freedom as an environment in which people resist evil and do what is right, and
good without fear of any punishment or retaliation. It is justice balanced with compassion and it is a
rule of law based on fundamental moral truths. It offers individuals equal opportunity to better and
balance their lives morally, spiritually, intellectually, and economically.
Freedom is not only a moral issue but also a legal one and on this essay I am going to focus on free
speech. As The First Amendment says "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of
religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press;
or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of
grievances" (Cornell Law). Following this, I believe everyone is entitled to their free speech, but as
flawed humans being we always cross the line at certain points and that is why there is the need for
limitations. By saying this then, liberty is not really absolute and censorship can never be absent.
"Liberty requires constraints at every level –speech, sex, movement... in order for people to create
and ordered society" (MECM, 290). Furthermore, in my opinion free speech and expression should
be preserved to prevent the society and nations from exploiting the power of system. However, it
should not be

Importance Of Broad Based Consultation
The Importance Of Broad–Based Consultation
There is a direct and intended correlation between thorough and extensive consulta–tions and
resulting strong, compelling report recommendations that stakeholders can stand behind and
support; and that ultimately governments will move quickly to imple–ment. When those consulted
and the constituencies they represent can see their contributions and issues reflected in the final
report and recommendations, they are much more likely to press governments for the
implementation of said recommendations.
From inception, my objective was to develop and implement a consultation strategy and process for

Strategy Of The Broad Differentiator
Strategy The team's unique reasoning behind the choice of strategy that we executed throughout the

member maintained during the process. The strategy of the broad differentiator was the teams
choice, because we thought that it would be the most difficult to accomplish, would take the most
time, and provide us all with a well rounded learning experience because we would be able to learn
how to be successful in both the low and high tech segment with our products instead of just one of
the segments. With our previous knowledge about running a business we all were in agreement that
if we could sacrifice and work harder to participate in both segments it would lead to some great
competitive advantages. As mentioned by Lui, (2013), "the only competitive global business
strategies would be based on differentiation by unique specialization in terms of quality, product,
service technology, or cost leadership" (p.2824). The great execution of the strategy by our team
enabled us to find success and gain different competitive advantages with each of our sensors, in
turn accomplishing our goal of meeting the needs and expectations of both the low and high tech

The History Of Musicals On Stage Is Broad And Extensive. There

  • 1. The History Of Musicals On Stage Is Broad And Extensive. There The history of musicals on stage is broad and extensive. There are many different histories of stage musicals: French operettas, Grecian plays, and Roman comedies are just a few. However, I am going to focus on American musicals. The musical that many Americans are familiar with has its roots in the French and Viennese operettas of the 1800s, but take their comic style from American Variety and Minstrel Shows, which led to Vaudeville and Burlesque shows. Known to be the first American musical, "The Black Crook", produced in 1866, proved how profitable the musical theater could be in the United States. After that the American musical really burst forth, with full–length burlesque shows and British imports of musicals, like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The movie "Singing in the Rain" (1952) even offered a lighthearted depiction of Hollywood in the late 1920s where the focus was on the transition from silent films to "talkies". From the beginning, audiences embraced screen musicals with tremendous enthusiasm, with "The Jazz Singer" (1927) bringing in a slew of newcomer audiences as well as the usual stage musical goers. Even though the stock market crash of 1929 caused almost a third of movies theaters in the U.S. to shut down, the industry survived (but barely), because the public would use the few pennies they had to go see a film that would make them forget the Depression for an hour and a half. Because of this, film musicals attempted to provide happy and uplifting types of musicals, but they were not extremely successful. Fast forward to 1933, when the Warner Bros. Studios gave audiences dance–infused musicals, including "Forty–Second Street", where Busby Berkeley took his reputation and experience as a dance director for several Broadway shows and helped rebuild film musicals' rapport. Due to the fact that, in the 1940s, America was fully focused on World War II in one way or another, "Yankee Doodle Dandy" was produced in 1942 by Warner Bros. Studios, and was a musical biography of George M. Cohan, "The Man Who Owned Broadway". This musical highlighted the American patriotism and values that many ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Codependency: Addiction and Broad Term Codependency is defined as; of or pertaining to a relationship in which one person is physically or psychologically addicted, as to alcohol or gambling, and the other person is psychologically dependent on the first in an unhealthy way. Codependency is a very broad term that can encompass a vast range of feelings and emotions but is always more focused on someone else. For instance, if someone goes to eat with a group of people but does not actively help in the decision making of where to eat, they are fine with where everyone else wants to go. They show a meek personally and would rather someone else make all the decisions. A codependent person can be overzealous in trying to help someone. They believe they are helping but in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I don't know if it's just me but I think that when they say you have an alcohol problem because you have more than two drinks at a time is a little bit absurd. I know a lot of people who will binge drink on the weekends and I never really saw the adverse effects it has on a person and their well–being but I do think it can happen. I do think it is the physician's responsibility to make the patient aware of the effects of alcohol and drug addiction. I don't think they should preach to the patient if they have never had any signs of using or abusing drugs and alcohol. More and more young people need to know the risks of drugs and alcohol and how it harms the body and other people around them. I know peer pressure plays a huge role in society today but I think if we helped teens and children see a bit more clearly maybe there wouldn't be as much peer pressure. Parents as well as the entire family need to make their children a lot more aware of all the side effects. I do not think that parents talk to their children nearly enough about anything especially drugs and alcohol. People work a lot more hours these days and when they do see their children they don't want to spend the quality time preaching to them about things like drugs, alcohol, sex and all of the other things parents tell their kids. In conclusion to my perspective I just think that we ultimately need more preventive treatment so that we don't have to spend so much money trying to make people better ... This illness is on a continuum, that can affect one patient differently than another patient. A mental status of an individual is associated with many factors that play into this person's daily life. Mental illness can cause an individual to feel isolated, hopeless, and worthless; therefore, result in other forms of mental illnesses or conditions to occur. Many of these individuals may turn to drugs, self–harm, or even complete suicide. This could be because, they are trying to get rid of the pain that these mental illnesses are causing them. These individuals are told by their doctor, that they have an illness that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An interesting thing to note, is that animals do not judge or discriminate against these individuals, therefore making this therapy a satisfactory option for helping an individual. Animals will be there for these individuals, and act as someone for these people to talk to; which is exactly want an individual with mental health needs. They need someone to be there, listen, and love them unconditionally. Not judge them, and/or tell them what they should or should not do. There are many different types of animals that will do just that, and therefore, ATT is not just limited to cats and dogs; ATT can be horses or rabbits as well. The article, "Effectiveness of animal–assisted therapy: A systematic review of randomized controlled trails", compared a group of inpatients that have schizophrenia, and found the dog treatment groups, helped significantly improve the individual's positive and negative symptoms associated with schizophrenia, improved these individuals living skills, and improved their social contact (Kamioka et al., 2014). These animals, whether, it is dogs, cats, or horses have an element of spirituality that is difficult for a therapist to sometimes to delve into because of boundaries or walls that are difficult to get passed, therefore resulting in a barrier for improving these patient's overall health. • 9. Writing Across A Broad Spectrum Getting to know Waiwai, with regards to the world of anthropology, is a traditional ethnography. A subject for those with little anthropological background it delivers a general account of the 'Indian' way of life, providing an insight in to the world of the Wayapi. Intended for those with an interest in Amazonia, Campbell provides a refreshing if not unorthodox encapsulation of the Wayapi culture. Writing across a broad spectrum, Campbell is sententious yet objective in this philosophically orientated text. During its time of publication it was seen as a change in the direction of ethnography, being shortlisted for the 1996 McVities Scottish writers prize. Political, thought provoking and indubitably brave Campbell gives an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As he becomes active member, he gains a penetrating insight in to tribal life in aspects of hunting, gardening and manioc production. Distinctive in comparison to descriptive ethnography the book follows eight chapters, abstract in their initial headings such as "At Long Hammock", "Other Voices" and "Romance". Campbell develops a self–reflective nature of writing which embedded throughout the chapters gives a new elevation to anthropological literature. Throughout the book there is a clear opposing ideology towards the missionary work and especially that of the FUNAI. They as Campbell puts, aim for the 'integration' of Indians towards greater society. He condemns the both subtle and unsubtle attempts at invading the Wayapi's physical and moral way of life (Giving shotguns in exchange for bow and arrows). Campbell incontrovertibly most reflective when talking about romantic motives, he self–indulges in his own fantasies or ideals towards the preservation of the Amazon and Wayapí culture. Campbell is at times evanescent, falling trap to his romanticism, yet defiant to the end in his views. Desperately passionate and charming he evokes a contagious belief that the Wayapí do not need us, they are self–dependent, and from that Campbell feels we are to learn from them. The book in its entirety is retrospective. Campbell reflects on the convoluted relationship between the Wayapí and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. A Broad Spectrum Of Eating Disorders There is a broad spectrum of eating disorders. Bulimia nervosa (BN), anorexia nervosa (AN) (two basic types, restrictive (ANR) and binge–purge (ANBP)), and binge eating disorder (BED). People with eating disorders often have a morphed perception of their body. Often they feel the need to be perfect, and when they do not look perfect to themselves they feel great shame. Which in effect causes suicide ideation, because they feel they do not deserve to live. It appears that eating disorders may carry the highest suicide risk of any psychiatric disorder. Recent studies show that BN has greater suicide rates than AN. In past studies it was the opposite. BED still has the lowest suicide rate. Some argue as to whether or not one particular ED has a greater risk of suicide than another, but all agree that those with an ED are at a risk of attempting suicide. Research has found that ED may derive from traumatization, such as self–harm, depression, impulsiveness, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), dissociation, substance use, and somatization. Previous studies consistently demonstrate that impulsive behaviors are more prevalent in ANBP compared with ANR. Drug use, laxative abuse, and other impulsive behaviors have previously been associated with suicidality in BN and ANBP participants. Binge–purging is linked with impulsivity, which is linked with higher rates of suicide; therefore, most people with ED that have this, such as BN or ANBP, might have a greater risk of attempting ... Broad comes to mind because everyone has their own worldview and I believe that the broader your worldview is more knowledge you have on how the world works. I think broad also pops in my head because I like to hope the older and more experiences you have you're worldview only continues to grow from the narrow worldview you have when you are very young. Broad-Scale Effects Of Hypoxia Broad–scale effects of Hypoxia on benthic community structure in Chesapeake Bay, USA Hypoxia defines as oxygen deficiency that had influence benthic communities through time. In broad–scale effects of hypoxia it had studied that it has positive and negative result in the ecosystem. Organisms living near the seabed commonly called benthic organism mostly depends nutrients from inorganic material such as oxygen. Critical decrease of oxygen may lead to the alteration of benthic density, biomass and diversity. In Chesapeake Bay, USA, hypoxia is typically a summer phenomenon according to Seitz et.al due to the runoff, sinking of algal blooms, high benthic respiration and stratification of water. Severity decrease of oxygen leads to hypoxic stress wherein flux in the ecosystem levels were observed. The concepts of broad banding and competencies are simply a recalibration of the existing pay scales to offer organizations the flexibility to adjust and meet change (Daley 2012, 122). The scales are compressed from a larger number to a small number of pay grades. Individuals can take any of the previously lower grade duties without loss of pay or prestige. Broad banding is the most realistic alternative to the traditional position classification system and the most popular and radical reform (Naff 2003, 141). A career system is necessary to focus individual attention on the long–term strategic issues facing an organization. Rank–in–position systems have shown the benefit of recruiting talent from outside the organization as well as providing current employees with significant outside experience. It is easier to select from candidates within the organization which presents a danger of blinding the organization to "what is going on in the world at large" (Daley 2012, 124). The most important issue in selection is determining the validity of the selected method (Scroggins et al. 2008, 186). General mental ability tests, or intelligence tests have proven to be nearly the best indicator of a candidate's ability to perform a specific job (Partnership for Public Service 2004, 4). However, America's heritage is a short yet confusing one with different events and opinions argued as its true beginning as a sovereign nation. Although historians argue that the Spanish settlement of St. Augustine in Florida marks the start of American History, the written Constitution and development of a government more accurately reflects the beginning because this shows the beginning of an organized, connected and strong nation. The Spanish did not consider themselves "Americans" but as Spaniards, claiming new land and protecting it for their country. CHAPTER ELEVEN STUDY WITH INVARIANCE PROPOSITION OF RATIONAL EXPECTATIONS 11.1 Introduction The concept of Invariance Proposition of Rational Expectations, developed by Lucas, Sargent and Wallace in early seventies, presents the idea that the anticipated part of money supply affects price level. Since the present work is devoted to study the relationship between money supply and price level, the Invariance Proposition theory of rational expectation can be applied to examine the relationship between anticipated money supply and price level. In order to apply Invariance Proposition theory in examining the impact of anticipated money supply on price level, we need to estimate the anticipated money supply. There are several procedures to estimate the anticipated money supply; the present study has applied ARIMA structures of narrow and broad money supply for the estimation of anticipated money supply. After identifying anticipated money supply, a regression equation has been performed taking price level as dependent variable and anticipated money supply as explanatory variable. 11.2 ARIMA Model for M1 Money Supply In order to quantify anticipated money supply, the ARIMA model has been applied. For this purpose equation (11.1) has been employed for ARIMA structure for M1 money supply, on the basis of which the anticipated M1 money supplies has been quantified. 〖dLnM〗_1t=α+β_1 〖dLnM〗 _(1t–1)+β_2 〖dLnM〗_(1t–2)+⋯+β_k 〖dLnM〗_(1t–k)+θ_1 u_(t–1)+θ_2 u_(t–2)+⋯+〖 ... Six artists from the book Broad Strokes have created artwork to share with the world. These six artists all have something in common, they have all had loved ones that they have lost. Louise Bourgeois was one of these six artists and her mother had died with an illness that had haunted Bourgeois. "When Bourgeois mother died in 1932 (ah, these dead mothers!), she abruptly switched from studying math at the Sorbonne to studying art" (pg 128). Louise Bourgeois has touched hearts with amazing sculptors that she has made. Her sculptures were influenced as a reminder of her mother. She sculpted a spider that now stands in New York city, this spider symbolized a lot of meaning to her, she stated "The Spider is an ode to my mother. She was my best friend. Like a spider, my mother was a weaver....Like spiders, my mother was very clever. Spiders are friendly presences that eat mosquitoes" (pg 133). Another artist was Ana Mendieta, she was the only artist that had experienced a lot of abuse growing up and it made a rebel out of her. Mendieta was known for making beautiful sculptors in the landscape, due to her abuse, she no longer had a motherland to turn to. She decided to join with earth to help return to her womb. E&W's legislative approach allows for the following: 1. Enhanced sentencing – courts are obligated to enhance sentences, if proven a crime was motivated by hostility based on race/religious grounds. 2. Incitement legislation – the criminalisation of acts where an offender insinuates hatred on the grounds of race or religion. 3. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Saucier et al's (2006) research into the victimisation of hate crime, did however find that victims felt penalty enhancements offered more appropriate punishment. The key legislation against racial hate crime in E&W is the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 (Iganski, 2008). The legislation requires courts to enhance sentence penalties of racially aggravated offences, beyond sentences required for non–racial equivalents (ibid). This act for enhanced sentencing requires two tests to be applied in order to prove 'hostility' (Mason, 2014, cited in Hall et al, 2014). The first test assesses motivation, whilst the second requires evidence that an offender 'demonstrated' racial or religious hostility before, during or after an offence (ibid). This evidence is usually provided within manifestation of verbal or written communication being submitted before a court (ibid). Burney and Rose's (2002) research for the Home Office raised concerns surrounding what did or didn't amount to racial motivation, particularly in cases when the racially aggravation was added to the substantive offence, rather than the cause. The research identified the vast majority of prosecutions rely upon proof that the offender demonstrated such hostility rather than proof that the offender was actually motivated by hostility to commit the offence (ibid). According to Marx social division of labor dismembers human activity on such partial functions and operations, each of which in itself doesn 't possess nature of activity any more and doesn 't act as a way of reproduction by the person of his social relations, his culture, his spiritual wealth and herself as persons. Such is division material and spiritual (intellectual and physical), the performing and operating work, separation of the city from the village, functions practical and ideological, etc. Marx considered that division of labor inevitably grows to class division. Together with division of labor also the person is divided. He considered that this "mutilation" of the person increases in the same measure in what division of labor grows. Matter not only that division of labor does specialization ugly narrow, and even not in fixing to the person of a certain profession, and that the individual joins in social communication not as the personality, and as the carrier of a certain function, as labor of a certain quality. Perhaps that's where the creators got the idea for this episode. Good thing Shawkat was down to guest star. Number One: The Show Was Created Because Abbi And Ilana Weren't Getting Cast In Other ... • 55. Components 2 : Ethics And Culture Essay Component 2: Ethics & Culture: International trade has boomed over the past three decades. Since 1990, the number of multinational corporations in the world has grown from 30,000 to more than 63,000 (Kotler, P. & Armstrong, G. p.552). According to different experts becoming a global company is a big feat, but it is important to improve the overall growth potential of a company. To convert a successfully business from domestic to international, a company will need to consider a set of factors that might not affect a local company. For example, factors as ethics & culture. These factors must be considered carefully by Jamb Juice. One of Jamba Juice's strategies is to continue to expand through franchise opportunities and continue to create new markets. One of these new markets can be Uruguay. Uruguay is located in the middle east of South America, between Argentina to its west and Brazil to its northeast. Three–quarters of the country have low–lying landscape which is grassland, ideal for cattle and sheep raising. Also, this territory is suitable for agriculture, and forestry. These activities are the most important source of exports or the country. This activities are possible because Uruguay has a privileged climate. Its climate is warm and humid, in summer (December to February) the temperatures ranging between 72 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and winter (June to August) between 41 and 59 degrees Fahrenheit. It has a population of 3,323,906 inhabitants and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 57. The Broad World Of American Theatre The broad world of American theatre has long been a haven for playwrights wishing to explore progressive and modernistic themes that seem to test society's willingness to adapt. From the rise of the curtain to the final bow, theatre audiences witness characters "negotiate their identities and desires within society," while maneuvering around life's complex and ephemeral nature (Dorsey 1). Historically, the theatre has been an open and welcoming arena for the LGBTQ community, offering an outlet of solace and hope while simultaneously enabling the community to showcase the hardships and oppression generations of homosexuals have faced. Nevertheless, the LGBTQ theatre has seen ongoing evolutionary changes in the themes presented through the plays ever since its birth in the early 1900s. As Alan Sinfield stated in Out on Stage: Lesbian and Gay Theatre in the Twentieth Century, "changes in theatre as an institution interact with shifts in ideologies of gender and sexuality" (Sinfield 1). Thus, as a result of society's changing views towards the LGBTQ community, the historical and contemporary gay theatre has evolved significantly to incorporate and present ideas unique to the era in which the plays were produced. To understand the development of contemporary gay cinema, one must first recognize the true definition of LGBTQ theatre. Critic Joe Jeffreys states that "plays with central characters that are LGBT[Q] or deal in a substantial fashion with themes or issues of same–sex ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 59. Creative Writing: Broad Street The scent of burning nicotine mixes in with the bitter–sweet sound of silence that flows through my neighborhood. The murmurs of the 39 engine making its rounds of routine lateness is a usual as it flows down small Dauphin street and to much better–known areas of the city. The 39 bus must first pass through the forever booming Broad street where there just may never be a familiar face. Broad street is home to three buses and a train station, while still managing to accommodate the many stores from food to clothing houses that range from family to sorority, and programs that go from shelter to daycare. Going on the bus must then travel pass a fairly popular 'Rite Aid' which has a particularly rowdy parking lot, and a rare sight which is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By now the bus driver is drained from the chatter of about thirty or so students and adults. He's happy to be skipping by a vacant lot filled with the promises of a house and would otherwise be nothing if anyone but me ever bothered to get off at such a location. From the stop closest to my block you can still see the bus go under the train station that wakes the entire block at night with its horn and further down the street to places unknown. My block is a system of apartments, college houses, and rented homes. Simply taking a step across the street is like taking a step into another part of the city, I'd like to think each house has to be different from the one both across and next to it to lighten the fact that they're all completely grouped together. This, in particular, makes my street special because another two to four streets down in almost any direction you begin to notice row homes with the same color. The colors of my street start of with a gray house on the corner which is a college house with only one student who is rarely seen due to, of course, being in college. The yellowish–orange house of bricks is an apartment with about as many people you'd expect to pop out of a clown car, too many to be in such a small area. The green house is just about the same as the yellowish–orange brick house, five children, and three adults all piled together in one little area, and that's just on the first floor. • 61. The Broad Therapeutic Goals The broad therapeutic goals are to ultimately help the client live a fulfilling life, without the maladaptive thoughts that they are having, which brought them to therapy. This ultimate goal can be accomplished by changing the client's current thoughts, which are causing them unease, to more positive and/or healthy ones. Clients need to examine how they dealt with situations in the past, and determine what worked, and what did not, so that they can change the strategies that didn't work. When clients realize that they can change their thoughts, this will trickle down and change their emotions and behaviors as well. Once they understand this, it will help them to live healthier lives. One of the goals is also to equip the client with the necessary tools so that they can cope with situations on their own. Some techniques that are central to this orientation are, having very clearly defined action plan. This will help with the direction of the therapy, which the client has agreed on and helped to establish. I also believe that inventories are very helpful, because they can help to identify any problems that the client has not raised. They are also useful for helping to determine what type of goals should be pursued, or if there's a more immediate problem, which the client has not, mentioned, or is not aware of. Inventories also provide a good base, and can provide useful information about the client, as well as help to assess the client's mood. The inventories should not only ... • 63. Defining The Broad Scope of Artist What is art? As I continue to develop my skills and contemplate their purpose, my initial analysis has not only shifted, but expanded in complexity. Acquired through our growth into modernism, art has manifested a certain dependence on theoretical discourse. German Philosopher Arnold Gehlen proposes that art's 'need for explanation' is derived from its 'difficulty' or otherwise inaccessibility to the public; implying that although art is always human, human is not always artist. The exclusivity of the art–world supports this notion as it is categorized and defined by a hierarchal pattern of thought development: from initial Spectator, to Theorist, to Artist – in a sense, paralleling the core pattern of the human condition and artistic ... So if I had written on my picture "This is a pipe", I'd have been lying!" – by surrealist painter Rene Magritte; on Treachery of images – in which a representative image of pipe is underlined with the French–equivalent phrase 'this is not a pipe.' The theoretically–informed spectator is then entrusted by the benighted audience to legitimize the artistry of the piece by providing and outline for interpretation. I imagine these assertive theoretical perspectives are as helpful to the audience as they are irritating to the artist. Theories, by definition are limiting. Once a piece of art is contextualized under the intellectual bias of an established thinker, there is a tendency for further interpretation to become obsolete. It is my belief that – in regards to Art – theories are counterproductive to their goal. They disseminate a bias that sabotages the individual experience rather than enhancing it. For the artist of 2014, however, the formulation of a personal theory or understanding is becoming more vital than ever. Referencing earlier times – as exemplified throughout Classicism, Neo–classicism, Romanticism etc. – artistry belonged to those who practiced towards perfecting the traditional techniques passed on from previous generations; little, if ... • 67. Two Broad Categories Of Abortion There are two broad categories of abortions: spontaneous abortions and induced abortions. A spontaneous abortion is any pregnancy where the fetus does not have the ability to survive or is born before the 20th week of pregnancy. Spontaneous abortion usually takes place before the 13th week of pregnancy and takes place in at least 15–20% of all known pregnancies. In a spontaneous abortion, the death of the fetus is accidental. In an induced abortion it is intentionally killed. This is also called an artificial or therapeutic abortion. For every 1,000 women aged 15 to 44 years old, 14.6 babies were aborted during 2010. The ratio of abortions to births was 228 to 1,000. In 2010, 14.6% of all abortions were obtained by girls 15–19 years old. They also had an abortion rate of 11.7 abortions per 1,000.Of all the women who had abortions 85.3% were unmarried. • 69. Broad Agreements Pros And Cons Broad agreement is an agreement between multiple people. Whether it's reason is good or bad, the choice of the people as a whole is what matters the most. The name of the article chosen for this essay is "Broad Agreement Emerges That, With Right Set Of Policies', Global Migration Can Boost Development, as Historic Debate Concludes". The broad agreement is inaccurate. It is inaccurate because it voice, "...migration was no substitute for development, as many migrants were forced to seek work abroad due to poverty, conflict and lack of human rights in their home countries." This is false because immigrants help the USA's economy. They start businesses and these businesses help others become employed. Broad agreement impacts the lives of today. This ties to broad agreement today. Right now Donald Trump is making presidential speeches and campaigns. In his speeches he talks about getting rid of immigrants and how they aren't good for America. Those who are willing to vote for him have a broad agreement on this topic. The republicans agree on getting rid of immigrants, whether it be a few who don't this topic is a broad agreement to republicans and Trump. • 71. The Broad Term Of Freedom To start with, I would like to discuss about the broad term of "freedom" in a democratic society. We have always defined freedom as an environment in which people resist evil and do what is right, and good without fear of any punishment or retaliation. It is justice balanced with compassion and it is a rule of law based on fundamental moral truths. It offers individuals equal opportunity to better and balance their lives morally, spiritually, intellectually, and economically. Freedom is not only a moral issue but also a legal one and on this essay I am going to focus on free speech. As The First Amendment says "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances" (Cornell Law). Following this, I believe everyone is entitled to their free speech, but as flawed humans being we always cross the line at certain points and that is why there is the need for limitations. By saying this then, liberty is not really absolute and censorship can never be absent. "Liberty requires constraints at every level –speech, sex, movement... in order for people to create and ordered society" (MECM, 290). Furthermore, in my opinion free speech and expression should be preserved to prevent the society and nations from exploiting the power of system. However, it should not be ... Importance Of Broad Based Consultation The Importance Of Broad–Based Consultation There is a direct and intended correlation between thorough and extensive consulta–tions and resulting strong, compelling report recommendations that stakeholders can stand behind and support; and that ultimately governments will move quickly to imple–ment. When those consulted and the constituencies they represent can see their contributions and issues reflected in the final report and recommendations, they are much more likely to press governments for the implementation of said recommendations. Strategy Of The Broad Differentiator Strategy The team's unique reasoning behind the choice of strategy that we executed throughout the simulation played a significant role and set the tone toward the effort and attitude that each team member maintained during the process. The strategy of the broad differentiator was the teams choice, because we thought that it would be the most difficult to accomplish, would take the most time, and provide us all with a well rounded learning experience because we would be able to learn how to be successful in both the low and high tech segment with our products instead of just one of the segments. With our previous knowledge about running a business we all were in agreement that if we could sacrifice and work harder to participate in both segments it would lead to some great competitive advantages. As mentioned by Lui, (2013), "the only competitive global business strategies would be based on differentiation by unique specialization in terms of quality, product, service technology, or cost leadership" (p.2824). The great execution of the strategy by our team enabled us to find success and gain different competitive advantages with each of our sensors, in turn accomplishing our goal of meeting the needs and expectations of both the low and high tech segment.
