Introduction:
Teacher will begin the chapter by refreshing students’ memories about binary addition that they
have learned in class 7th. She will ask them:
1. How do we convert decimal numbers into binary numbers?
2. How do we convert binary numbers into decimal numbers?
3. What is 1+1 according to the rules of binary addition?
She will introduce her topic that today we are going to learn how to multiply and divide these
binary numbers.

of binary numbers
Procedure & treatment:
 Teacher will solve the
example given on book
page 3.
 She will introduce the
rules of binary addition
and tell them that you
can perform
multiplication easily if
you know the rules of
addition.
 She will write some
questions on board and
invite the students to
come and solve these.

into decimal numbers.

Desiredlearning outcomes:At the end of the lessonTSWAT  Perform multiplication of binary numbers.  solve the binary division Instructional Materials Required  Multimedia  Laptop value education / pg activity Introduction: Teacher will begin the chapter by refreshing students’ memories about binary addition that they have learned in class 7th. She will ask them: 1. How do we convert decimal numbers into binary numbers? 2. How do we convert binary numbers into decimal numbers? 3. What is 1+1 according to the rules of binary addition? She will introduce her topic that today we are going to learn how to multiply and divide these binary numbers. DLO 1 perform multiplication of binary numbers Procedure & treatment:  Teacher will solve the example given on book page 3.  She will introduce the rules of binary addition and tell them that you can perform multiplication easily if you know the rules of addition.  She will write some questions on board and invite the students to come and solve these. Time 12min Material to be displayed Hands on activity Students will come and solve the given questions Vocabulary words DLO 2 solve the binary division Procedure & treatment:  Teacher will solve the examples given on book page 4 and 5.  She will introduce the rules of binary 12min
  • 2. subtraction and tell them that you can perform division easily if you know the rules of subtraction.  She will write some questions on board and invite the students to come and solve these. Students will come and solve the given questions Recapitulation Overview of main points through examples. Consolidation Teacher will go through the learnt methods by inviting students to come and solve the questions Homework : Do Q:1,2 of exercise: D in notebook Conclusion: Today we learnt about multiplication and division of binary numbers, in the next class we will discuss how to convert decimal numbers into octal and hexadecimal and octal and hexadecimal into decimal numbers.
