3. DEVELOPMENTAL MILESTONES FROM 4
TO 9 MONTHS
 Month 4: This is when babies begin to recognise their primary caregiver’s face, usually the
mother. She might even look in the mirror too, only to engage with the face staring back at her
since she’s yet to recognise herself.
 Month 6: Halfway through the first year, your baby will begin to recognise familiar faces and
understand who’s the stranger.
 Month 9: At month 9, your baby will have favourite toys and objects. They’ll be able to find
them in a heap of things, “that’s my doll under the blanket.”
