Around 9 to 12 months, children begin to explore the world using their senses of touch, taste, sight, and hearing. They develop initiative while still wanting a caregiver nearby for safety. Language skills start emerging as they understand simple words and babble, saying sounds like "mama" and "dada." They also communicate through gestures, facial expressions, sounds, and body movements in response to others. During this time, children learn to crawl which helps strengthen their muscles for walking.

How to teach children from 9 to 12 months
1.
2. HOW CHILDREN GROW AND LEARN: 9 TO 12 MONTHS
Around this age your child will begin to explore the world around them by
touching, tasting, looking and listening. They will begin to develop their own
initiative but will want you around to feel safe. They may become curious
and easily distracted and their language skills will start to develop.
3. Understand simple familiar words.-
Everything is new and interesting to one-year-olds. They enthusiastically
use their five senses to actively explore the world around them. They find
in learning new words. Parents have to teach them some basic words,
such as: family members, greeting. Some activities that parents can do to
achieve this purpose are:
•Realia
•Flashcards
4. Babbles as if speaking – says mama, dada.-
Parents should encourage children to try to say some familiar words,
such as: mama, dada. Babbles lets children to develop their language
skills and at the same time learn new words. For achieving this
purpose, parents can use:
•Puppets.-
•Gestures.-
5. WAVES, KISSES, POINTS IN RESPONSE TO
OTHERS.
Most children learn to communicate to get a
need of meet or to establish and maintain
interaction with a loved adult.
6. through sounds (crying, cooing, squealing),
facial expressions (eye contact, smiling,
grimacing)
Babies communicate
and gestures/body movements (moving legs in
excitement or distress, and later, gestures like
pointing.)
7. CRAWL, SCOOTS WELL
Crawling helps your baby strengthen her
muscles enough to walk and is her first way of
getting around efficiently on her own.
8. When it develops
Most babies
learn to crawl
between six and
10 months.
It's getting mobile
that's important,
no matter how
your baby does it.
9. Mother can hold her head up to look
around, and her arm, leg, and back
muscles are strong enough to keep her
from falling on the floor when she gets
on her hands and knees.
How it develops
Crawling typically comes
after a baby is able to sit well
without support
10. After your baby has mastered crawling, the
only thing standing between her and complete
mobility is learning to walk.

11. SPEND LONGER TIME DOING ONE THING
Play with them
Get down on the floor and play trucks, build
forts, make cardboard buildings for cars.
Read to your children
Start a small chapter book and read one
chapter a day. Make reading time special with
something to eat.
