For this question, I have decided to ask my peers for their personal feedback. I
provided them with 3 print outs of my front cover, DPS and contents page, to which
they told me their opinions. I filmed one of my questions, as seen here.

Ways my magazine presents social
groups…


From peer feedback, I can infer that my
magazine represents social groups mainly
through my cover star. He presents the typical
rocker look. This appeals to a younger
audience, because my cover star is also young
adult and student, which therefore presents a
student in todays society. He is not a
conventional looking student, but a more
eccentric looking student, so therefore appeals
to a more unique audience. Through my cover
star, I am presenting the stereotypical sub
culture of 'rockers', as I did ask my cover star to
wear stereotypically rocker-type clothes for the
shoot.

I should also highlight that I chose a male for my
cover star as males are most associated with rock
music. This is because their voices tend to be
deeper, and louder, which produces a much more
rough, rock-type sound.

All black clothing
represents the typical
‘rocker’ type look, as
well as the Gibson denim
jacket, because it
exhibits the badge of a
popular guitar brand –
Gibson.

Piercings are also
associated with the rock
genre.
I used the prop of a
black and white
electric guitar, which
presents that my
cover star is typical of
the rock music genre.
