1. What kind of institution might
distribute your media product and why?
2. I feel that my magazine would be benefit
greatly by being distributed by IPC Media. IPC
Media already have several music magazine is
distribution , in particularly indie music
magazine, very much like my own. They can
appeal to the mass market which I think my
music magazine sits well in, even though at
first the music does seem quite niche, by
including that the main feature is new live
music I think makes the magazine appeal to a
wider market.
3. Vivere will be sold is supermarkets and music
stores like HMV so that it is immediately available
to the mass market. Furthermore, I will sell my
magazine in independent record/music stores
because my target audience like to buy records
and cd’s still. In addition to this many new bands
now like to produce vinyl copies of their album.
This therefore means that as people go to buy the
records they can buy my magazine to find out if
they are playing any gigs simultaneously. IPC Media
have a great amount of experience of using
different media platforms to distribute their
product. NME magazine and Uncut magazine (both
IPC Media products) have an online website and an
iTunes digital magazine.
4. Most of my advertising will be mainly through the
internet as I feel that this suits my target audience
because as young people, they will be regularly online.
Furthermore use technological convergence to create a
Twitter, Facebook and Instagram page in order my
audience to keep constantly up-to-day with the latest
news and pictures from events and gigs.
Moreover I will create a an app and digital version of
my magazine. The app will be similar to the social
networking sites as it will keep the reader up to date
with news, however it will also have links and
advertising to subscriptions for the magazine. The
digital version of my magazine will be available on
iTunes Newsstand and Google Play Magazine as I feel
that I can make the greatest use of my target
audience’s knowledge and interest in technology and
digital formats.
