Frontline Frontline publishes magazines like Kerrang, Q and Heat all of these are then distributed to large shops like Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's; you will find Frontline magazines in all major stores and the large majority of newsagents as they are very mainstream and have a large audience appeal. Even though they are already popular magazine Frontline has produced a multi-platform brand identity of Indie and mainstream Rock, it's target audience is "individually minded, independent of thought and musically experienced", there are four sections to their multi-platform strategy there is a magazine, TV station, radio station and website. Frontlines distribution strategy is very successful in appealing to a more mainstream audience by supplying their product to easily accessible shops and producing them in bulk, means they are very easily targeted and advertised to the audience.

Vice distributors only produce one magazine - Vice, they appeal to more individualists and because of that they only supply to stores where individualists would be found, for example Urban Outfitters which supplies a range of individual and less mainstream styles with a slight niche appeal. They also distribute their magazine to bars and venues where individualists would attend. Like Kerrang magazine Vice is a has a multi-platform consumption strategy, it has a website that provides a lot more information relevant to the magazines ideology and target audience.
4. How RECOVER will be distributed I will distribute and produce my magazine as an independent publisher because my magazine mainly challenges dominant ideology and therefore it will not appeal to the same mainstream audience. Due to the development in media 2.0 I will create a multi-platform consumption stratergy through the use of internet distribution, I think this is a good idea because people are more use to using the internet in forms of communication because advances in social networking mean people (especially my target audience) are use to sharing data (photographs and songs); downloading and buying things online. The website will to conincide with my magazine where there would be extended information in more detail, it would also give information on where you could purchase the magazine. I think the advantages to distributing my magazine using this method are that I will be able to supply my magazine directly to the target audience buy selling it in stores they are most likely to visit, for example Urban Outfitters, Vintage and Thrift Stores and HMV.
