2. I would use a mainstream company to
distribute my magazine as the target audience
are 16-22 year olds who listen to chart music
and shop at high street stores, which
stereotypes them as being some what
mainstream.
This means they are more likely to read
magazines that can be purchased in stores
such as Tesco or WHSmith, not magazines that
are given out in a few independent
clothing/music stores.
3. I would use IPC Media as my distribution
company as they already distribute well known
magazines such as NME, Nuts and Now. IPC
distribute conglomeration of magazines
ranging from lads magazines, music magazines
and living magazines. Therefore my music
magazine would suit the range of magazines
they already distribute.
4. As IPC Media distributes well known magazines
such as both NME and Nuts the retail outlets they
will supply to will match my required outlets.
For example both NME and Nuts are found in big
supermarkets such as Tesco and Asda, they are
found in high streets stores like WHSmith and can
be picked up in small corner shops.
This will suit my target audience as it means the
magazines are easy to get hold of as they can be
found in high street stores and you do not need to
go out of your way to find the magazine issue.
5. As the genre of my music magazine is
HipHop/Rap/R&B which are deemed to be fairly
mainstream music as they often have cross overs
with each other and the pop genre. They very
often appear in the charts and this has caused the
genres to become mainstream. This means the
listeners as well as my target audience are going
to be mainstream and will shop in big stores such
as Tesco and therefore having supermarkets such
as Asda or Tesco distributing my magazine will be
a brilliant idea as they are mainstream stores and
will be seen by a mainstream audience.
6. I will use a multi platform distribution strategy as my
target audience are aged between 16-22 and are
most likely to be familiar with social networks
sites, the internet in general and have smart
phones. I will have a CA$H & MUS!C website as
well as a smart phone app as I feel this is a more
modern way to connect with teenagers.
IPC Media have more than 60 iconic brands
therefore are able to create content for multi
platforms such as print, online and tablets.
7. IPC Media are the perfect Distribution company as
they have the correct retail outlets I need such as
supermarkets, high street stores and corner shops.
They also are able to create multi platform
distribution which is very modern and up to date
and another brilliant way my target audience will
be able to read my magazine.
8. I feel using IPC Media as my chosen distribution
tragedy will benefit the magazines profit. The first
reason being because they are sold in mainstream
stores so it will be easy for my target audience to
get hold of paper copies of my magazine.
They also distribute over multi platform which is an
effective way to help my target audience read
the magazine.
The profits will sore when distributed by IPC Media
as they will be selling in the correct stores and multi
platforms for my audience to get hold of easily
and enjoy.
