Philosophy asks us, "What is happiness"? Aristotle sums it up as the irredeemable currency in which
we should dedicate our lives to collecting. I say, its a board game. I have been playing board games,
dice games, and card games as soon as I could count. In fact I learned how to do such things for the
sole purpose of getting to play these games. From my compendium of knowledge, I wish to display

In a familial hierarchy, it is transparent who is dominant and who is subordinate. The parents are at
the top, while the children are at the bottom. Parents make the rules, while the children follow them.
In the story "The Rules of the Game", the author Amy Tan uses this model of familial hierarchy to
demonstrate the power dynamic between the mother and the daughter. The main protagonist,
Waverly Place Jong, is the youngest out of her two brothers and is the only daughter in the Jong
household. Her mother uses Chinese torture on Waverly to enforce and regulate her power has the

In Amy Tans "Rules of the Game" a first generation adolescent becomes fascinated with the game of
chess and uses its rules as a strategy for life while growing up and away from her Chinese culture.
This short story illustrates the struggle of growing up is especially difficult when in a culture
different from ones parents.
When Narrator Waverly Jong first introduces herself at the young age of seven. Waverly lives in
China Town, San Francisco with her immigrant parents and two older brothers. She is a very smart,
curious and obedient daughter. The author indirectly shows the reader during the first supermarket
scene when Waverly is introduced to the "art of invisible strength". Waverly first begged her mother
for candy but after practicing this art form and silently ignoring the candies, her mother rewards her
by purchasing them. This value of silence is a form of strength and dignity in the Chinese Culture.
Waverly obeys her mother that day and soon learns that it can be used as a tool for success in the

As a transfer student the level of classes will most likely not be as challenging as at a Junior
College. I can recall from my own experience, this first month and a half at Clemson has been twice
as much work as the place I attended last year. Talking with other transfer students, Clemson has
been different then the institutions they attended in the past. Colvin has given me some examples
that will help me as well as transfer students. At first I was frustrated with all that was going on. I
have not seemed to have as much time as last year to go out and have fun. This year I have been
studying twice as much to keep up with everything and I feel it is good for me. This article has

I am faced with stringent time constraints and therefore I cannot risk any possible supply
disruptions. As for Wah Shing they have developed good supplier relationships with electrical
component suppliers. This is crucial as the components used in E–Chargers are not always readily
available. Wah Shing has minimal financial risk, competitive pricing and more knowledge of the
componentry that E–Chargers entail. Wah Shing has produced other complex electronic toys and

Game theory is a popular resource for modelling economic, sociological, philosophical and many

agents." Game theory has many uses, including describing and predicting ideal behaviour as
discussed later on. It can be used to model and predict for example. There are, however, criticisms to
game theory in regards to its ability to apply to human rationality and emotion. Due to the
widespread use of game theory, this has become a popular area of research in economic, philosophic
and even psychological theory.
One can think of game theory as descriptive due to the fact we often use game theory to explain or
justify people's actions after they are taken. This is best seen in analytics of games or sports, where
an analyst might weigh up the advantages and disadvantages to explain a player's actions. An
