Algorithms for selecting useful texture features were developed by using stepwise discriminant
analysis. They developed four models i.e. HSI_39, HSI_15, HS_10 and I_11. Classification was
done by minimum distance classifier. The model using 15 selected HSI texture features got the best
classification accuracy (95.6%), which recommended that it would be best to use a reduced hue,
saturation and intensity texture feature set to differentiate orange diseases. The HSI_15 model, I_11
and HSI_39 models achieved classification accuracy 95.6%, 81.11% and 95.6% respectively.

For methodology, it was fortunate that I got the opportunity to join the Directed Reading Program
on statistical methods, ranking soccer teams in cooperation with Dr. Steve. Because outcomes
involving multiple categories occur more often, we wanted to compare and improve existing

This study seeks to develop a predictive model of college student dropout, using aggregate high
school variables and individual postsecondary achievement variables to predict non–graduating
students' academic year of departure. After performing multiple linear regression and discriminant
function analysis, the research found that a cohort of students admitted in the fall 2007 semester
from several universities could be assigned an academic year of departure using data readily
available by the end of a student's third academic term. The university can use this model to predict
student departure and improve the effectiveness of student retention efforts by focusing on targeted
times when at–risk students are predicted to drop out.

their data (dependent variables). These included: Frost's Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale
(FMPS), Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (MPS), the Center for Epidemiological Studies –
Depression Scale (CES–D), Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), students grade point average

recent study used functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to measure brain activity in visual
cortex as a person looked at several hours of movies. We then used these data to develop
computational models that could predict the pattern of brain activity that would be elicited by any
