Alexander Hamilton
Alexander Hamilton
When producing something as important as the document outlining an entire nation s culture, it is helpful to have
inventive and innovative thinkers; however, it is necessary to have leaders with experience and knowledge. The
United States needed a strong leader who stood for his beliefs and could execute them to their full potential. When
Alexander Hamilton entered Independence Hall on May 14, 1787, that was exactly what he was willing to do for his
country. He helped with the ratification of the Constitution by writing 51 of the 85 installments of the Federalist
Papers. Hamilton continued to strive for the well being of the U.S. as Secretary of Treasury after the Philadelphia
Convention. He advocated for a strong ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hamilton knew that the government needed the ability to borrow money. (Bowen 67) He therefore asked the Federal
Government to pay back the bonds in full that they issued during the Revolutionary war so that wealthy merchants
would have the confidence to lend money in the future. Although this was an important step in financing the
government, Hamilton argued that the government still needed a bank to manage its debts and interest payments. He
is mostly known for his decision to create this First National Bank. The bank would manage its debts and interest
payments by providing a currency and collection of taxes. The Necessary and Proper Clause of the U.S. Constitution
gave congress the permission to pass the bill in 1791, opening up the First National Bank of the U.S. The
contributions that Hamilton made during his term as Secretary of Treasury made him a very triumphant and
remembered leader of the Federalist Party.
Alexander Hamilton, leader of the Federalist Party, played a key role in building a solid foundation for the United
States. Hamilton favored a strong national government and believed that 1800 democracy left the U.S. at risk of
losing its liberty. (Brookhiser 127) In addition, Hamilton knew that manufacturing and trade had to be the basis of
national wealth and power. (Staloff 24) These are the policies that drove his life and provided the

Doctor Ivanich s Flawed In The District Doctor
Physicians are Flawed Heroes: Vulnerable to Human Imperfections The Father of Modern Medicine, William Osler,
once stated The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease. Could a
famous physician be vulnerable as well to a doctor patient relation? Nobody is impeccable and every person has their
unique tragic flaws. It is widely known that computers calculate mathematical operations much faster than humans
because they only have one job, justly, if physicians were not distracted and focused on one mission only: to
rehabilitate their patient, the job would be completed much quicker and much more efficiently. The District Doctor ,
written by Ivan Turgenev, raises these moral issues to light, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A physician must always do their best at improving the patient s welfare, which can be achieved efficiently, if they
hold all their feelings aside until the patient is fully rehabilitated. The relationship found in the short story, between
Aleksandra Andreyevna and Trifon Ivanich is unethical. Now...yes, now I can tell you that I thank you with my
whole heart...that you are kind and good that I love you! (Turgenev 133). The affection of the doctor towards the
patient might have influenced the final outcome of her welfare, as it is stated in the story that Aleksandra only took
medicine from the doctor himself. Possibly the doctor gave her too little or too much medicine, the readers will never
know, but the conclusion is the same: the medication did not work. If the doctor was not in love, perhaps he would
have noticed that the prescriptions did not help and maybe he could have still saved the young woman. Therefore,
doctors are defenceless against human sentiments, in Ivan Turgenev s story, the sentiment is love. This a huge
blemish for doctors and physicians, because a patient s life is endangered whenever a patient s treatment is
interspersed with human

The Evolution Of The Law Of Fresh Evidence Essay
Case Law review: the evolution of the law of fresh evidence
As mentioned at the outset, in 1923, the Dominion Parliament gave broad discretionary powers to Canadian appellate
courts to receive any evidence it deemed necessary and in the interest of justice to decide the issues on appeal against
both verdict and sentence. However, unlike the pragmatic approach of the British, the Canadian legislators did not
provide statutory guidance to the judiciary on the parameters for the exercise of this new power. It was therefore left
to judges and the courts to fashion common law principles and procedures for the admission of fresh evidence with
respect to verdict appeals, appeals from sentence and to a lesser extent references by the Minister of Justice to
Canadian appellate courts. Each is discussed in turn in the sections that follow.
II.2.1 Verdict appeals: incremental changes in the law of fresh evidence The slow but steady evolution in Canadian
fresh evidence law in criminal and quasi criminal proceedings can best be classified into two distinct periods: the pre
Palmer jurisprudence and the post Palmer developments.
II.2.1 (i) Pre Palmer Jurisprudence: 1910 1980
There have been incremental changes in the law of fresh evidence prior to the definitive judgment in Palmer in 1980.
In 1925, the British Columbia Court of Appeal was the first appellate court to apply the new powers enacted in 1923
to admit fresh evidence. Prior to these amendments, appellate courts could

Marx Alienation
Marx s theory on species being and estranged labour. The theory of alienation by Karl Marx describes the act of
estrangement of persons beginning from those characteristics of their species essence in place of a magnitude of
existence in a society or community of stratified collective classes. The isolation from oneself is generally as a result
of being an automatic part of the communal class (Meszaros, pg 54). Philosophically, this theory depends s upon the
essence of Christianity which was described by Ludwig Feuerbach. Marx further extended this theory of Ludwig by
stating that even the idea of humanity is also an alienating perception for people to logically deliberate in its
complete metaphysical implication (Meszaros, pg 57). In his work of 1844, Marx explained alienation in the
following way: In any capitalist society, the isolation of employed workers from their humanity is believed to occur
because the only thing that a worker can express is labour (Meszaros, pg 59). This is a significant societal facet of
particular eccentricity through a privatised system of industrial production where every employee is considered a
thing but not a person. The following are the four types of alienation that normally exist to a worker who is labouring
under a capitalist form of industrial production: 1. The disaffection of workers from their respective products. Here,
Marx explained that product designs and how it is manufactured are determined by capitalist classes who part

The Human Desire For Wealth And Inclusion
COME AS YOU ARE: An Appeal to the Basic Human Desire for Wealth and Inclusion
Every day, Americans are surrounded by countless advertisements. On the way to work, billboards and radio ads
bombard the senses. Most ads are quickly forgotten while others stick with the audience. What makes some ads
memorable and others forgettable? The product may be visually appealing, from a desirable brand, or presented as a
solution to the viewer s problem such as anti aging cream for wrinkles. Such is the case for an ad for The Venetian
resort and casino in Vanity Fair, a high end magazine. Featured in the ad is an older woman sitting invitingly on a
luxurious white bed with bountiful pillows. This ad may appeal to a high socio economic class of viewers with a
desire to belong in a high class society in accordance with a term called snob appeal (134), coined by Stuart
Hirschberg, the Associate Professor at Rutgers University. The argument suggests advancing age will not interfere
with having fun by targeting a specific audience, using unconventional visual appeals, a logical text structure, The
Venetian s status to establish credibility, and opportune timing.
A trip to Las Vegas entails spending several hundred dollars on a hotel alone. Combining this with gambling, shows,
sightseeing, flights, and food, the trip can amount to over five thousand dollars. This ad is only attempting to reach
individuals who can afford a stay at The Venetian. The majority of Vanity Fair magazine s

Explain how the High Court decision in Perre amp; Ors v Apand Pty Ltd (1999) differed in principle from the High

courts as being relevant in these types of cases, the most often cited policy consideration in these cases is the fear of
indeterminate liability
The difference in decisions of High Court: * Caltex Oil (Australia) Pty Ltd v The Dredge Wilemstad (1976) case was
decided based on factors like duty of care, reasonable foreseeability of harm and proximity. * In Perre amp; Ors v
Apand Pty Ltd (1999), factors like duty of care, plaintiff s vulnerability and inability to protect themselves were the
main considerations apart from factors of policy considerations like indeterminate liability while arriving at the
conclusion not placing major reliance on proximity.

When I first looked at this book it was pretty self explanatory what it was going to be about. Although it was self
explanatory I had not much idea on the areas it would cover. Many things looked familiar when going through the
book and skimming through. The theme of this book has to do with how our world, in a business aspect, gathers
information. It explains how we currently gather, sort through, process, and use data and information. This book
explains it from all different processes and views. Companies use many different methods when it comes to gathering
knowledge. This textbook breaks down these methods and explains which ones are the most commonly used and
most important. Data is such an important role in businesses today, especially with how much things change over
time. I think this textbook will really cover how things have and are changing along with really stressing how ...

Data are raw facts that describe the characteristics of an event or object (Baltzan 6). Managers used to have to collect
data manually along with analyzing it. This was a very time consuming process which could also be complicated in
different aspects. If businesses lack data this can cause them to make unethical business decisions. For example, if
they don t have the correct data needed they may order in too many products or not enough causing a surplus or
shortage in products/supplies. Being able to collect and analyze data quickly everyday helps make a business make
better decision. Data in this day and age is important for a business to obtain so they can make the best possible
decisions for their company to be successful. This can help a business know how much to order, how much was sold,
and their customer numbers. A company can also see where they are getting most of their customers from when
collecting data from surveys. Data allows us to see if a company is doing good or bad and

Satire
Satire is a sort of glass, wherein beholders do generally discover everybody s face but their own (Swift). Such
beholders, as Jonathan Swift astutely emphasizes, are intended, through guidance of satiric narrative, to recognize
social or political plights. In some satires, as in Swift s own A Modest Proposal, the use of absurd, blatant
exaggeration is intended to capture an indolent audience s attention regarding the social state of the poor. Yet even in
such a direct satire, there exists another layer of meaning. In regards to A Modest Proposal, the interchange between
the voice of the proposer and Swift s voice introduces another medium of criticism, as well as the opportunity for
readers to reflect on how well they may fit the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
O Brien, whom Winston had come to trust throughout the whole novel, is tasked with making Winston believe that
whatever the party holds to be truth is the truth (249). Despite Winton s attempts to resist, he is made hollow through
pain, suffering, and, above all, betraying the only person he has come to love by pawning his worst fear of rats to
Julia with the betraying remark: I don t care what you do to her (286). Throughout the whole novel the audience

within the tyrannical party allows him to take note of the hypocrisy of the party and over time the audience comes to
sympathize with his motives. Though he seeks a better, free life by joining the rebellion , his fatalism is his defining
characteristic. By the end of the novel, he is emotionless towards his once lover Julia. They never meet again (293).
Winston in his end state is a hollow man, one that has come to [love] Big Brother (298). What the progression of
Winston s character, from someone who would vehemently write down with Big Brother to a brainwashed party
loyalist, illuminates is the futility of resistance in a totalitarian government (18). Winston s end state emphasizes the

Why Did Gondwana Occur In Australia
As it is the oldest of the continents, Australia is often referred to as an ancient land. However, it didn t always have
its current shape, as it was once a part of a super continent called Pangaea. This was until it separated and drifted
across the Earth s surface, causing a variety of climate changes and other geological events.
Around 300 million years ago, Pangea existed during the late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic eras and approximately
120 million years ago, Pangea split into two smaller sections called Gondwana and Laurasia. Gondwana formed prior
to Pangea , and later on became part of it. However, after the break up of Pangaea, Gondwana possessed most of the
regions in today s Southern Hemisphere, including Australia, Africa, Antarctica and South America. Similarly,
around 180 million years ago, Gondwana also began to split up. Africa and South America beginning to drift away,
leaving just India, Madagascar, Antarctica and Australia and about 40 million years later, India and Madagascar
broke off. Leaving just Antarctica and Australia. Correspondingly, approximately 85 million years ago Australia
separated from Antarctica, finally becoming its own continent. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Business Strategy For Competitive Advantage
Pre requisite Module: Business Strategy for competitive advantage Previous Module: Introduction to people
management (Hill, 2009) state Molex s competitive advantage is based on a strategy that blends low costs, excellent
customer service, and the mass production of standardized products that are sold globally . Using a pre requisite
module like business strategy for competitive advantage, it can be assumed that Molex are using theoretical concepts
from porters generic strategies like focused low cost and differentiation in order to gain an advantage over their
competitors as previously mentioned in the case study. (Sowell, 2006) further illustrates this point stating firms like
Molex will drive their cost lower through investments in plant efficiencies . Linking this back to (Hill, 2009) where it
goes on to say that manufacturing sites are located in countries where cost conditions are favorable . We can
therefore see that these countries, which are cost favorable, were not chosen at random, but instead selected using a
focused low cost strategy. This informs companies like Molex to invest their resources in plant efficiencies, further
suggesting that these plant efficiencies means an area where capacity utilization can be met but keeping both fixed
and variable costs low. This favorable country that is not specified in the case study, could be less developed a
country where exchange rate is favorable to the US dollar. Hitt et al. (2006) states a

Criminal Justice Case Summary
Introduction
Christopher Byers, Michael Moore, and Steven Branch were second graders in Weaver Elementary School (Egan,
2016). On May 5, 1993, they went missing after going on a bike ride in West Memphis, Arkansas (Leveritt, 2002).
On the next day, their bruised and mutilated hog tied naked bodies were found in Robin Hood Hills near Interstate
40, setting off an all out effort to find their murderers (Linder, 2013). Within a month, police was convinced that
three outcast teenagers were responsible (Linder, 2013). With pressure on their backs to find the culprits, authorities
arrested them. They were known around town for wearing black and listening to heavy metal (Egan, 2016). At that

Nathaniel Cole Research Paper
From 1919 to 1965, a man lived and forever changed the music industry to become what it has become today with
his amazing piano playing and smooth voice. The man s name was Nathaniel Cole, but he is better known as Nat
King Cole. From Cole s early jazz music in his early life and his singing in the rest of his life advanced music in jazz
and pop. With his great influence and legacy in music, many people would use the name of one of Cole s most
popular songs, Unforgettable , to describe the man himself. On March 17, 1919, Nathaniel Coles, son of Edward and

into a household name; with the additional fame, Cole left the King Cole Trio in 1951 (Nat King Cole,

African American to host a variety program named The King Cole Show; the show would last one year due to the
lack of a nationwide sponsor, due to the fact that, even though the show received good ratings, no one was willing to

Obstacles In The Holocaust
The Holocaust was the worst genocide in history. The obstacles people went through would almost kill them. It is

13th Century Russia History
Even though Russia wasn t founded until 25 December 1991, its history traces back to the 9th century. During this
period, the first signs of the country s infrastructure began. Creation of trade routes enabled empires being supplied,
while leading to the country s growth. When the 10th century hit, we got the first mention of Moscow. At the time,
Moscow was a small settlement that would soon become the pre eminent city in Russia (A Brief History of Russia).
By the 15th century, Moscow became the capital of, which consequently became, Russia. Moreover, in the centuries
that would follow, Russia would battle through many wars, variety of leaders who wanted to take the country in
different directions, weak infrastructure, communism, and failures of economic growth.

Since 2009, the renowned reality show, Shark Tank, has been giving small business entrepreneurs hope allowing
them to achieve dreams which previously appeared impossible. In this television show, five multi millionaire and
billionaire investors, known as sharks , invest their time and money into small businesses which they believe will
succeed with their expertise. Each entrepreneur who enters the Shark Tank must attempt to convince these sharks that
their business is worth their investment. If the entrepreneurs succeed, the sharks may battle between each other so
that they can partake in this business. However, not every entrepreneur receives an offer. Only those with the greatest
ideas and business plans receive investment offers from the sharks . The mission was to determine whether author
Lisa Lenzo has what it takes for Shark Tank. Is she motivated to make her business succeed? Does her business
address an ongoing problem or need? Would her business thrive and grow with the help of a shark ? As a part of my
search, I had the privilege of attending a contemporary writers presentation from Lisa. She shared her personal story
explaining why writing is important to her and the reason she began writing. It was through this presentation that I
discovered whether or not Lisa was the right candidate for Shark Tank.

Myotonic Dystrophy is a late onset disease which has two types. The first type is DM1. In order to test for DM1 a
molecular genetic test is performed on DMPK. DMPK stands for Dystrophia myotonica protein kinase. This test is
100% accurate because it will detect the pathogenic variants in all patients. DM1 comes from a defect in
chromosome nineteen.
The second type is DM2. Interesting enough the gene CNBP is the only gene in which a mutation within it is known
to cause myotonic dystrophy in its second type. It s more than 99% accurate with the combination of routine PCR,
Southern blot analysis, and the PCR repeat primed assay. DM2 comes from a defect in chromosome three.

Eventually a need to focus on relearning how to do simple things such as getting up from sitting and going up and
down stairs and gripping objects will need to be reassessed. Often enough exercise has also been an issue and it has
been debated on whether or not exercise makes the disease spread faster but also disuse of the muscles can contribute
to further weakness so that it s recommended to discover what is just the right balance for exercise depending on the
individual. Though a study was done that in which strengthening exercises at a moderate intensity did not speed up
the disease progression. Types of exercises that have been found safe are Aerobic exercises, which have been found
effective in improving fitness in patients and cardiovascular exercise though beforehand a cardiac examination is
recommended and an ok from a primary care physician.
I restate my opinion that I disagree with ASHG s statement and my reasons are that simply the diagnosis of myotonic
dystrophy takes years and I believe that giving the child a chance to better their life with the disease is better than
keeping them from knowing about their

Mining Control And Reclamation Act ( Smcra ) Essay
Dirty energy production in the United States has disastrous environmental impacts thanks to a broken regulatory
system. Environmental devastation from coal extraction is unmatched. The most popular form of coal mining is
mountaintop removal mining, a form of surface mining which removes mountaintops to reach coal. The popularity of
mountaintop removal mining is due to the cost effectiveness of the process; unfortunately, the only one saving on
costs is the miners, and at the expense of the environment. Deforestation; harm in aquatic communities; accelerated
sediment and nutrient transport; increased algal production, as well as possible human health impacts from poorly
regulated remediation requirements by SMCRA, results in gross environmental degradation. This essay proposes an
amendment to section 515 (the approximate original contour requirement) of SMCRA; restoration should require the
reclaimed area to have the same environmental utility it had prior to the mining operation.
A brief overview of mountaintop removal mining and mine remediation processes will be provided at the outset of
the essay. Further, the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act (SMCRA) will be explained in regards to
mountaintop removal mining remediation. The aforementioned is supplemented by a brief explanation of other
related regulations. Lastly, judicial precedent will be used to verify the utility of the proposed amendments to
SMCRA. The positive environmental impact that would result if the

Religion and Morality
RELIGION AND MORALITY
(i)Examine the views of scholars concerning the idea that religion and morality are linked. In this essay I am going to
be looking at all the different view points on why some people may think religion and morality are linked. I will talk
about a few things that link them such as conscience, divine command ethics, Kant s view and Aquinas view. Many
people believe that morality is based upon religion and the rules written in the Bible and other holy books, although
some say that religion is completely opposed to morality and it is wrong to mix the two.
Some scholars believe there are three views on the relationship between religion and morality, one of them being that
morality depends on religion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moral opinions are judged against religious teachings.
Even secular society adopts or is influenced by religious moral teachings, for example, it seeks guidance from
religious leaders in moral matters such as genetic engineering/abortion.
In conclusion the strongest view to me is Social Conditioning, in which morality is independent of religion. I believe
that peoples morality comes from the environment that they are brought up in, and the people around them such as
parents and teachers. From a very young age we are taught what is right and wrong, and grow up respecting the law
and people around us more than God.
(ii)Comment on the view that religion and morality are not linked. Euthyphro s Dilemma was that the problem of
whether something is good because God commands it, or does God command that which is good. Do that God s love
that which is holy, or is it holy because it is loved by the God s Plato.
Almost all Christians will say something is good because God says so, his commands must be obeyed. A Christian s
dilemma is that either good is a whim or good is something that dictates to God. So if a Christian interprets that it is
God s will to murder, they think they are justified because it is God s choice.
A.C Grayling believes that religious morality is irrelevant to modern society because what people value has changed.
He thinks that modern morality includes a great concern for human rights, animal

Malcolm Gladwell Outliers The Story Of Success Summary
In Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell an interesting point is made, this point is if you work hard
and assert yourself, and use your mind and imagination, you can shape the world to you desires (Gladwell 151).This
is true in many of the stories told in the book Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell several famous
people are talked about such as, The Beatles, Bill Gates. But in this book several studies on education, parenting, and
psychology are cited. We also learn that there are many differences between what others may consider to be success,
and what Malcolm Gladwell considers success.
I would like to begin by discussing Bill Gates the founder of Microsoft. What opportunities allowed him to build a
company worth billions of dollars? How did he learn so much about how computers? Did he have any advantages
over other students at school? In the chapter The 10,000 Rule it is stated that The idea that excellence at preforming a
complex task requires a minimum level of practices surfaces again and in studies of expertise. In fact, researchers
have settled on what they believe is the magic number for true success: ten thousand hours (Gladwell 39 40). It takes
this long because It seems that it takes the brain that long to assimilate all that it needs to achieve true mastery
(Gladwell 40). So where did Bill Gates get his ten thousand hours of experience before building Microsoft. Well the
answer is Lakeside, a private that catered

Stereotypes in M. Butterfly Essay
The issue of cultural stereotypes and misconceptions thematically runs throughout David Henry Hwang s play M.
Butterfly. The play is inspired by a 1986 newspaper story about a former French diplomat and a Chinese opera
singer, who turns out to be a spy and a man. Hwang used the newspaper story and deconstructed it into Madame
Butterfly to help breakdown the stereotypes that are present between the East and the West. Hwang s play overall
breaks down the sexist and racist clichés that the East West have against each other that reaffirm the Western male
culture ideas. The stereotypes presented in the play revolve around the two main characters, Gallimard and Song. The
play itself begins in the present with Gallimard, a French diplomat who has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The play focuses on three prominent stereotypical ideas that Western males hold concerning Eastern women: the
submission of Asian women to Western males, knowledge in handling the female body, and their desires for
masculine Western counterparts. Ultimately, M. Butterfly addresses culturally constructed stereotypes as powerful
and limiting.
The play first reveals the shortsightedness of stereotypes made by Westerners, when the submissive Asian woman is
awaiting a dominant Western male. Throughout the play, Gallimard is reliving his experiences that he has shared with
Song in prison so he flashes back to describe his story of the perfect woman. Gallimard first flashes back to the
German Ambassador house in 1960 s where he first meets Song. Gallimard and Song end up conversing about the
opera Madame Butterfly that Song was performing in. Song thinks the opera is ridiculous, but Gallimard likes the
opera. Gallimard tells Song how she did a beautiful job as butterfly and how her character was very convincing. Song
argues with Gallimard, stating that this opera is only beautiful to Westerners. He asks if it s one of your favorite
fantasies, isn t it? The submissive oriental woman and the cruel white man (17). After hearing these words, Gallimard
turns rather defensive; despite his own stereotyping of Asian women, he does not want to be trapped in a
stereotypical Western mindset. Song effectively trashes this stereotype by using his devious skills to manipulate

Hohenzollern Research Paper
Although the history of the House of Hohenzollen dates back to the 11th century, I am more intrigued with the more
modern 1800 s and the rulers of that era. My paper is based on this and includes two people whom I think were the
most effective leaders within the royal family. The house of Hohenzollern is said to be a noble family and royal
dynasty of prince electors, kings and emperors of Prussia, Germany, and Romania. Its origin is based from an area
around the town of Hechingen in Swabia during the eleventh century. The name was taken from their ancestral home
(the Burg Hohenzollern Castle). The family split into two groups, the Catholic Swabian branch and the Protestant
Franconian branch. Hechingen was ruled by the Swabian branch until their extinction in 1869. The Franconian
branch was comparatively more successful. Branches within the Franconian branch ascended the throne of
Margravate of Brandenburg in 1415 and of the Duchy of Prussia in 1525. The union of these two Franconian
branches, in 1618, allowed the creation of the Kingdom of Prussia in 1701, the state which led the unification of
Germany and the creation of the German Empire in 1871. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Summary Of The Construction Of Ghetto
In the article The Construction of the Ghetto by Massey and Denton, there are several policies and practices that still
has its effect on racial structure today. Among the several practices and policies are the Government Issue (GI) Bill
for veterans and housing loans. At a political view, the GI Bill for veterans helped them buy houses at a lower price
due to their contribution in the war. Since White veterans have the GI Bill, they moved out to the suburbs during
1940 1970, which was during the time of suburbanization. Because Black veterans did not receive the GI Bill, they
were unable to move out and buy houses. This effect is still present today, considering that in the statistics, Blacks
are less likely than Whites to own houses.

Risk Management Plan For An Information System Upgrade
The purpose of this document is to describe a risk management plan for an information system upgrade. This
document outlines the processes that will be used in the identification, recording, discussion, and response to risks as
well as the roles of the project team. Inadequate attention to risk brings about cost overruns, inadequate technical
performance and schedule delays. The project risk plan will record the team s decisions on risk management to
establish a clear standard way for the actions to be taken. Moreover, the plan will be utilized throughout the project
life. Risks are the potential events that may occur in the course of a project, and if they occur would adversely affect
the project scope, schedule, quality and/or resources. Further, when risks occur they bring with them consequences.
Conversely, risk management is the process with which risk management planning, identification, analysis, response
and control is done on a project to mitigate its effects. The goal and objective of risk management is to reduce the
chances and effects of adverse events to the project objectives. The project manager will be responsible in the
creation and maintenance of this project risk management plan throughout the project to maintain the appropriate

Similarities Throughout the Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey...
There is many similarities through the tales in the Canterbury Tales, written by Geoffrey Chaucer. All of the tales can
easily be related to another tale through characters, symbolism, the plot, or morals. Some examples of these relations
can be found in The Millers Relating to the Knights tales with almost Identical Characters. And The Franklin s Tale is
similar to the Pardoner s Tale with Greed. And, The Knights Tale, The Miller s Tale, and The Pardoners tale are
similar in many different aspects. The tales in The Canterbury Tales can all be related to one another, find a unique

tales in the novel which are similar. In both of these tales, the characters are almost identical. In the Miller s tale there

Helen Keller Hero
Helen Keller
The definition of heroine is is a woman, who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble
qualities ( Dictionary ). Helen Keller was a woman who was an important role model, and trailblazer for the deaf and
blind community. Even a person with all their senses has not achieved as much she has. Helen Keller was a hero
because she faced many challenges as a deaf blind woman, she won different awards in her life, and made many
contributions to the world. First reason Helen Keller is a hero because she has faced many challenges, one of the first
challenges she faced was she blind and deaf. Helen wasn t always that way she became ill and became blind, deaf,
and mute (Biography). This did not stop her, though Helen Keller was the first deaf, blind person to earn a college
degree, and she graduated from Radcliffe college with honors in 1904 (American). Also at the time Radcliffe was
basically Harvard for women. Although she was blind, she has made over 13 books such as Light in My Darkness,

The Importance Of Community Ligagement And Outreach...
Community engagement and outreach librarians are a relatively new and growing speciality in public librarianship.
The idea of outreach is not a new concept for libraries. The Offices for Literacy and Outreach Services was
established in the 1970s, formerly the Office for Literacy Services to the Disadvantaged (McCook, 2011). While
community engagement and outreach can have different connotations, for the purposes of this paper, they are going
to be used interchangeably, as the duties and responsibilities for each type of librarian does not vary much in job
postings. The ALA describes outreach librarians as providers of equitable delivery of library services to all people
through the development of programs, policies, practices, and behaviors which make the library available to all
people (ALA, n.d. c). Many libraries are just hiring their first community engagement and outreach librarians, such
as The Verona Public Library (Newton, 2017). Community engagement and outreach librarians seek ways in which
to develop deep connections with the community organizations and residents while being the face of the library. This
staffing trend moves libraries away from their desks and out into the community to reach community members where
they are (Stevenson Domsy, 2016).
Scope and Tasks A big question in outreach is should the goal be focused on bringing people into the library or
bringing library services out into the community (M. Gehrke, personal communication, September

  • 2. Alexander Hamilton Alexander Hamilton When producing something as important as the document outlining an entire nation s culture, it is helpful to have inventive and innovative thinkers; however, it is necessary to have leaders with experience and knowledge. The United States needed a strong leader who stood for his beliefs and could execute them to their full potential. When Alexander Hamilton entered Independence Hall on May 14, 1787, that was exactly what he was willing to do for his country. He helped with the ratification of the Constitution by writing 51 of the 85 installments of the Federalist Papers. Hamilton continued to strive for the well being of the U.S. as Secretary of Treasury after the Philadelphia Convention. He advocated for a strong ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hamilton knew that the government needed the ability to borrow money. (Bowen 67) He therefore asked the Federal Government to pay back the bonds in full that they issued during the Revolutionary war so that wealthy merchants would have the confidence to lend money in the future. Although this was an important step in financing the government, Hamilton argued that the government still needed a bank to manage its debts and interest payments. He is mostly known for his decision to create this First National Bank. The bank would manage its debts and interest payments by providing a currency and collection of taxes. The Necessary and Proper Clause of the U.S. Constitution gave congress the permission to pass the bill in 1791, opening up the First National Bank of the U.S. The contributions that Hamilton made during his term as Secretary of Treasury made him a very triumphant and remembered leader of the Federalist Party. Alexander Hamilton, leader of the Federalist Party, played a key role in building a solid foundation for the United States. Hamilton favored a strong national government and believed that 1800 democracy left the U.S. at risk of losing its liberty. (Brookhiser 127) In addition, Hamilton knew that manufacturing and trade had to be the basis of national wealth and power. (Staloff 24) These are the policies that drove his life and provided the ... • 3. Doctor Ivanich s Flawed In The District Doctor Physicians are Flawed Heroes: Vulnerable to Human Imperfections The Father of Modern Medicine, William Osler, once stated The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease. Could a famous physician be vulnerable as well to a doctor patient relation? Nobody is impeccable and every person has their unique tragic flaws. It is widely known that computers calculate mathematical operations much faster than humans because they only have one job, justly, if physicians were not distracted and focused on one mission only: to rehabilitate their patient, the job would be completed much quicker and much more efficiently. The District Doctor , written by Ivan Turgenev, raises these moral issues to light, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A physician must always do their best at improving the patient s welfare, which can be achieved efficiently, if they hold all their feelings aside until the patient is fully rehabilitated. The relationship found in the short story, between Aleksandra Andreyevna and Trifon Ivanich is unethical. Now...yes, now I can tell you that I thank you with my whole heart...that you are kind and good that I love you! (Turgenev 133). The affection of the doctor towards the patient might have influenced the final outcome of her welfare, as it is stated in the story that Aleksandra only took medicine from the doctor himself. Possibly the doctor gave her too little or too much medicine, the readers will never know, but the conclusion is the same: the medication did not work. If the doctor was not in love, perhaps he would have noticed that the prescriptions did not help and maybe he could have still saved the young woman. Therefore, doctors are defenceless against human sentiments, in Ivan Turgenev s story, the sentiment is love. This a huge blemish for doctors and physicians, because a patient s life is endangered whenever a patient s treatment is interspersed with human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Evolution Of The Law Of Fresh Evidence Essay Case Law review: the evolution of the law of fresh evidence As mentioned at the outset, in 1923, the Dominion Parliament gave broad discretionary powers to Canadian appellate courts to receive any evidence it deemed necessary and in the interest of justice to decide the issues on appeal against both verdict and sentence. However, unlike the pragmatic approach of the British, the Canadian legislators did not provide statutory guidance to the judiciary on the parameters for the exercise of this new power. It was therefore left to judges and the courts to fashion common law principles and procedures for the admission of fresh evidence with respect to verdict appeals, appeals from sentence and to a lesser extent references by the Minister of Justice to Canadian appellate courts. Each is discussed in turn in the sections that follow. II.2.1 Verdict appeals: incremental changes in the law of fresh evidence The slow but steady evolution in Canadian fresh evidence law in criminal and quasi criminal proceedings can best be classified into two distinct periods: the pre Palmer jurisprudence and the post Palmer developments. II.2.1 (i) Pre Palmer Jurisprudence: 1910 1980 There have been incremental changes in the law of fresh evidence prior to the definitive judgment in Palmer in 1980. In 1925, the British Columbia Court of Appeal was the first appellate court to apply the new powers enacted in 1923 to admit fresh evidence. Prior to these amendments, appellate courts could ... • 5. Marx Alienation Marx s theory on species being and estranged labour. The theory of alienation by Karl Marx describes the act of estrangement of persons beginning from those characteristics of their species essence in place of a magnitude of existence in a society or community of stratified collective classes. The isolation from oneself is generally as a result of being an automatic part of the communal class (Meszaros, pg 54). Philosophically, this theory depends s upon the essence of Christianity which was described by Ludwig Feuerbach. Marx further extended this theory of Ludwig by stating that even the idea of humanity is also an alienating perception for people to logically deliberate in its complete metaphysical implication (Meszaros, pg 57). In his work of 1844, Marx explained alienation in the following way: In any capitalist society, the isolation of employed workers from their humanity is believed to occur because the only thing that a worker can express is labour (Meszaros, pg 59). This is a significant societal facet of particular eccentricity through a privatised system of industrial production where every employee is considered a thing but not a person. The following are the four types of alienation that normally exist to a worker who is labouring under a capitalist form of industrial production: 1. The disaffection of workers from their respective products. Here, Marx explained that product designs and how it is manufactured are determined by capitalist classes who part ... On the way to work, billboards and radio ads bombard the senses. Most ads are quickly forgotten while others stick with the audience. What makes some ads memorable and others forgettable? The product may be visually appealing, from a desirable brand, or presented as a solution to the viewer s problem such as anti aging cream for wrinkles. Such is the case for an ad for The Venetian resort and casino in Vanity Fair, a high end magazine. Featured in the ad is an older woman sitting invitingly on a luxurious white bed with bountiful pillows. This ad may appeal to a high socio economic class of viewers with a desire to belong in a high class society in accordance with a term called snob appeal (134), coined by Stuart Hirschberg, the Associate Professor at Rutgers University. The argument suggests advancing age will not interfere with having fun by targeting a specific audience, using unconventional visual appeals, a logical text structure, The Venetian s status to establish credibility, and opportune timing. A trip to Las Vegas entails spending several hundred dollars on a hotel alone. Combining this with gambling, shows, sightseeing, flights, and food, the trip can amount to over five thousand dollars. Business Strategy For Competitive Advantage Pre requisite Module: Business Strategy for competitive advantage Previous Module: Introduction to people management (Hill, 2009) state Molex s competitive advantage is based on a strategy that blends low costs, excellent customer service, and the mass production of standardized products that are sold globally . Using a pre requisite module like business strategy for competitive advantage, it can be assumed that Molex are using theoretical concepts from porters generic strategies like focused low cost and differentiation in order to gain an advantage over their competitors as previously mentioned in the case study. (Sowell, 2006) further illustrates this point stating firms like Molex will drive their cost lower through investments in plant efficiencies . Linking this back to (Hill, 2009) where it goes on to say that manufacturing sites are located in countries where cost conditions are favorable . We can therefore see that these countries, which are cost favorable, were not chosen at random, but instead selected using a focused low cost strategy. This informs companies like Molex to invest their resources in plant efficiencies, further suggesting that these plant efficiencies means an area where capacity utilization can be met but keeping both fixed and variable costs low. In the chapter The 10,000 Rule it is stated that The idea that excellence at preforming a complex task requires a minimum level of practices surfaces again and in studies of expertise. In fact, researchers have settled on what they believe is the magic number for true success: ten thousand hours (Gladwell 39 40). It takes this long because It seems that it takes the brain that long to assimilate all that it needs to achieve true mastery (Gladwell 40). • 27. Stereotypes in M. Butterfly Essay The issue of cultural stereotypes and misconceptions thematically runs throughout David Henry Hwang s play M. Butterfly. The play is inspired by a 1986 newspaper story about a former French diplomat and a Chinese opera singer, who turns out to be a spy and a man. Hwang used the newspaper story and deconstructed it into Madame Butterfly to help breakdown the stereotypes that are present between the East and the West. Hwang s play overall breaks down the sexist and racist clichés that the East West have against each other that reaffirm the Western male culture ideas. The stereotypes presented in the play revolve around the two main characters, Gallimard and Song. The play itself begins in the present with Gallimard, a French diplomat who has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The play focuses on three prominent stereotypical ideas that Western males hold concerning Eastern women: the submission of Asian women to Western males, knowledge in handling the female body, and their desires for masculine Western counterparts. Ultimately, M. Butterfly addresses culturally constructed stereotypes as powerful and limiting. The play first reveals the shortsightedness of stereotypes made by Westerners, when the submissive Asian woman is awaiting a dominant Western male. Throughout the play, Gallimard is reliving his experiences that he has shared with Song in prison so he flashes back to describe his story of the perfect woman. Gallimard first flashes back to the German Ambassador house in 1960 s where he first meets Song. Gallimard and Song end up conversing about the opera Madame Butterfly that Song was performing in. Song thinks the opera is ridiculous, but Gallimard likes the opera. Gallimard tells Song how she did a beautiful job as butterfly and how her character was very convincing. Song argues with Gallimard, stating that this opera is only beautiful to Westerners. He asks if it s one of your favorite fantasies, isn t it? The submissive oriental woman and the cruel white man (17). After hearing these words, Gallimard turns rather defensive; despite his own stereotyping of Asian women, he does not want to be trapped in a stereotypical Western mindset. Song effectively trashes this stereotype by using his devious skills to manipulate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Hohenzollern Research Paper Although the history of the House of Hohenzollen dates back to the 11th century, I am more intrigued with the more modern 1800 s and the rulers of that era. My paper is based on this and includes two people whom I think were the most effective leaders within the royal family. The house of Hohenzollern is said to be a noble family and royal dynasty of prince electors, kings and emperors of Prussia, Germany, and Romania. Its origin is based from an area around the town of Hechingen in Swabia during the eleventh century. The name was taken from their ancestral home (the Burg Hohenzollern Castle). The family split into two groups, the Catholic Swabian branch and the Protestant Franconian branch. Hechingen was ruled by the Swabian branch until their extinction in 1869. The Franconian branch was comparatively more successful. Branches within the Franconian branch ascended the throne of Margravate of Brandenburg in 1415 and of the Duchy of Prussia in 1525. The union of these two Franconian branches, in 1618, allowed the creation of the Kingdom of Prussia in 1701, the state which led the unification of Germany and the creation of the German Empire in 1871. ... Among the several practices and policies are the Government Issue (GI) Bill for veterans and housing loans. At a political view, the GI Bill for veterans helped them buy houses at a lower price due to their contribution in the war. Since White veterans have the GI Bill, they moved out to the suburbs during 1940 1970, which was during the time of suburbanization. • 35. The Importance Of Community Ligagement And Outreach... Community engagement and outreach librarians are a relatively new and growing speciality in public librarianship. The idea of outreach is not a new concept for libraries. The Offices for Literacy and Outreach Services was established in the 1970s, formerly the Office for Literacy Services to the Disadvantaged (McCook, 2011). While community engagement and outreach can have different connotations, for the purposes of this paper, they are going to be used interchangeably, as the duties and responsibilities for each type of librarian does not vary much in job postings. The ALA describes outreach librarians as providers of equitable delivery of library services to all people through the development of programs, policies, practices, and behaviors which make the library available to all people (ALA, n.d. c). Many libraries are just hiring their first community engagement and outreach librarians, such as The Verona Public Library (Newton, 2017). Community engagement and outreach librarians seek ways in which to develop deep connections with the community organizations and residents while being the face of the library. This staffing trend moves libraries away from their desks and out into the community to reach community members where they are (Stevenson Domsy, 2016). Scope and Tasks A big question in outreach is should the goal be focused on bringing people into the library or bringing library services out into the community (M.
