This is the fourth evaluation question for my media project.

2. Latest media technology has changed everything. For medium
theorists, media technologies are powerful social
forces, affecting how we perceive and understand the world. By
keeping this statement in my mind, I have tried to use these
technologies, throughout the different stages of my project.
Apparently, being a demographic I have not pursued the old
generation ways for my task. Instead of getting to the library, in
order to obtain the required information, I preferred surfing on
the internet. Web 2.0 (which is the basic demand of every
media student today) made things easier for me. I used a
combination of different technologies, which are reachable now
because of the internet ( this is a concept which Chris
Anderson’s Long Tail theory explains very well).

4. For fine results, I needed to carry out detailed
research on the selected brief, because research is
the most significant part. Our media teacher told us
about Blogger and the main OCR Media Studies
site, from where I went through the blogs of
different media studies’ students. Then, basic help
came from Google (which is the most famous
search engine), I used to search for different sites
and material on it, for example, the information
about different music genres on Wikipedia was
really helping.
It was because of the surfing part that I was able to
select a particular brief and do the whole research
thing . Then, after surfing, through the help of
softwares, such as Microsoft Word and
PowerPoint, I used to make presentations, and
then I used to embed those presentations on my
blog, through some other useful softwares such as
Prezi and Slideshare. In order to see different
videos that were necessary for me, I took help from
YouTube, Dailymotion and Vimeo.

5. These are the screen shots of my research work, which I carried
out, because of the combination of different softwares, search
engines and most importantly, because of the internet. Media
technology has played an immense role.
For example, the target audience research, exploration of the codes
and conventions of different genre, even the selection of Pop genre
is because of this media technology, as Google and YouTube makes
the availability of data easier for me, and through social sites such
as Twitter, Facebook and etc, I was able to assess the popularity of
things and preference of the majority of people regarding
genre, singer, actors, narratives and etc.

7. After an in-depth and detailed research work, I moved towards the
planning stage, and like the research stage I was dependent on the
media technology on this stage as well. But this time the use was a bit
different, like after typing the whole plan about my products, that how
will I take these steps and etc, I used to post it on blogger, but this time
through Gmail, Google+, Facebook and especially through apps such as
Viber and Whatsapp (which are on our smartphones), I used to discuss
things with my friends and crew members.
Not only the softwares, but even the hardwares have been heavily
beneficial, but they were extremely advantageous during the
construction stage, which for me was the most
difficult, exhausting, significant, at times annoying yet interesting stage.
I used Canon EOS 600 D for shooting purpose. Other technologies, such
as lights, professional tripod, microphone, speakers, musical
instruments (acoustic guitar, keyboard, drum) and etc were also used
for the recording and shooting of my song and video.

9. Then, for the editing of my song I took help from some audio editing
softwares and for the editing of the music video Premiere 2.0 was used. The
media technologies not only played an immense role in the making of the
main product, but for the making of the ancillary tasks: the magazine
advertisement and the digipak, new media technology were used. HP Envy
dv6 laptops on which after downloading softwares such as Adobe Photoshop,
I used to make my ancillary products.
Not only this, but this evaluation process (which is in the making stage), for
the completion of this task as well, I’m dependent on the new media
technology, softwares such as the Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and etc; for
the making of some good attractive presentations and in order to achieve that
I have taken help from Google and some other helpful sites from where, I
have downloaded some good templates, which I found useful and authentic
according to the demand of the questions. Later on, after posting these
presentations on Slideshare, I will embed them on my blog.
