2. Throughout the process of creating my music video, in all stages, the
construction, elevation and the research and planning stage, I used multiple
media technologies which guided and helped me along the way.
Below are some of media technologies which helped me through the first
phase of research and planning,

3. • Firstly, I used the blogging site WordPress as a secure online notebook
to blog my findings. I decided to use this as it was helpful to keep track
of all the tasks I have done from our research and planning checklist as
well as being a fun way to post our findings.
• Unlike other free blogging sites, WordPress offered a number of themes
for us to use for free. The easy to use interface allowed us to intertwine
other forms of online media technologies such as pictures, videos,
soundbites and what not.

4. • Another form of online I used was YouTube. YouTube allowed
me to search online for videos of my genre and upload my own
audience research, which helped benefit my blog as this
boosted my technological convergence.
• YouTubes interface is extremely easy to use and as my
generation has been using it since its launch date over 7 years ago
It was easy to navigate, causing myself no
trouble when looking for research.

5. • Google, the online search engine, enabled me to browse the web and
find result incredibly easily. For one example I used Google to scroll
through pages websites providing stats and infrographics on musicians
income. While this was easy to use it was also vital to my research and
planning stage of my music video.
• Another online platform I used in aid of my research and planning was
Tumblr. Tumblr provided me with images of my target audience which I
have posted on my blog
Another form of using the internet for my research and planning was
my use of social networking. I used Facebook and Twitter as a source
of online audience research where I narrowed down my target audience.

6. • I used Microsoft Word for multiple things throughout the creation of my
media product. In my research and planning stage I used it to type of
blog responses and get them checked by my teacher in order to make
sure they were correct. I also used it as a notepad where I would write
down notes for myself in order to keep myself organized. During the
construction phase of my music video, my group and I used word to
type up our shot list, location list as well as used it as an organization
tool. During my evaluation phase, I used Microsoft word to again, type
up answers to the evaluation before blogging them as the layout was
easier to use.

7. • My schools computers, IMacs, aided me throughout this whole process
as they allowed my to use the internet, word photoshop as well as other
built in features. The school computers, as well as my own laptop,
allowed me to edit, post, research into and evaluate my coursework.
• My phone was also a massive help as it also allowed me to use the
internet on the go. This benefited my group and I when we were looking
up something to do with the filming, looking for directions or just
keeping notes on the go.

8. THE CONSTRUCTION PHASE
• During the construction phase I began to use more physical resources
then before. Including the Mac computers I was using cameras such as
the Sony HDR-PJ220EB to shoot my video as well as tripods and
lighting. From here we bagan using more advanced software then we
have prior by uploading and editing our footage in both Photoshop CS6
and the newest version of Apples, IMovie.

9. • After transporting my footage of microSD cards onto the schools Macs,
My group and I began to use IMovie to cut down, edit and create our
music video. IMovie allowed us to add sound and play around with tints,
filters and effects which added to the great visual of the video.
• Another positive of IMovie was that it would open up quickly to where
we last left off and save automatically. This was a huge relief as we
didn't’t need to worry about saving every two seconds as well as
preventing us from wasting more time then we already were.

11. EVALUATION
• In my evaluation I decided to go back to the original way of blogging my
findings, editing and planning by using WordPress again to blog my
evaluation.
• WordPress was useful as it had a easy interface and like I said before It
was extremely simple to add pictures, videos, sound bites and in my
evaluation I even added Slideshares and Prezi’s
• Another reason WordPress was useful was because unlike other
blogging sites, WordPress allowed me to log on to it from multiple
platforms. i.e. my laptop, my phone and the school computer, meaning I
could update and blog on the go.

12. • Websites like Slideshare and Prezi allowed me to present my findings in
an alternative way to the norm, benefiting my technological
convergence.
• Slideshare, an online PowerPoint presenter was easily to use and
integrated nicely into my blog. I decided to use this form of presentation
because some of the responses to the blog are much better in the short
form Powerpoint-like form rather in essay form.
• Prezi is another form of alternatively presenting my answer. I used it for
question three of my evaluation as it was a new and funky form of
presenting information. While Slideshare was simple and easy to use,
Prezi’s interface was slightly more difficult and non responsive, which
although was frustrating, did not cause major issues.

13. • Again through YouTube I was able to share and publicize my groups
music video which made easy to receive feedback, which also was
uploaded to YouTube.
• We gained publicity through word of mouth but also through the means
of Facebook and Twitter.
• Feedback was received through comments and interviews. The
comments
YouTube were beneficial as they were documented and told us what we
need to improve on.

14. • Throughout the process of my research and planning,
construction and evaluation stages of my music video I used
countless amounts media technologies both software and
hardware based, which, I have tried to list however some may
be missing. Although some were more useful than others they
all contributed to my music video or my evaluation and in the
long run benefited my courswork.
