2. Introduction
I first had to gain my research by looking
into music videos with a variety of genres
to gain a wider perspective. I then started
to analyse them to gain more depth in my
own genre looking into videos with the
same as my chosen band.
I would look into the Mise On Scene to see
what lighting, camera angles etc. that they
would use

3. Seeing a Variety
Looking at all the music videos I had done, such as Ed
Sheeran, Green Day, Blink 182 etc. it was interesting to
see their narratives.
Ed Sheeran would stick clearly to his lyrics and focus
on portraying this to the audience
Green Day would stick to the lyrics as well and it was
interesting to see that they had based their album on
their personal creation; A Rock Opera
Blink 182 on the other hand would have a mixture of
both lyric related videos and fun videos. Videos such as
‘What’s My Age Again’ was filmed with them running
through the streets nude and only very little showing
them actually playing instruments.

4. Inspiration
These have all inspired me. Especially
Green Days older videos where they had
been in a room performing their song. I
wanted to portray my band similar to theirs
and the feedback received at this stage
was positive and the audience thought I
had achieved my goal.

5. Technology - Youtube
Starting my process was ‘Youtube’. It
helped me to analyse videos freely and it
was easy to use all the facilities such as
the search engine or related videos.

6. Technology - iMacs
I used the iMacs for a variety of different
aspects and using the technology to full use.
The programming on the computer out
classed the previous computers as there was
more freedom in the software and more
exciting developing tools, such as iMovie.
This also helped with my music video
highlighting the importance of timing. For
instance, if a clip was 0.5 seconds out, the
chances are that the whole video will be out
of sync and it was easy to correct with such
tools like ‘precision editor’

7. Technology - Camera
Another important feature to making the
video. This was used to film and take
pictures of the band in action. They were
more advanced than the GCSE camera’s.
I also used the equipment along with this
such as the tripod to capture still images or
steady shots. I also used the USB cable to
upload my footage to edit on the iMac.

8. Technology - Blog
This was the main factor to the
construction of my project. The blog was
able to store all the information without fail
and allowed me to edit it no worries either.
It also had an extremely structured format
that allowed you to change it whenever
necessary.

9. Technology – Digi Pack
I used a variety of programs for my digi
pack to create a perfect pack for my band.
I used programs such as Photoshop to edit
my photos I had taken to enhance quality
and produce the lead singer to be
replicated for the front of my CD cover.
I used DiskLabel to edit all my album
artwork, which was simple and actually fun
to use.
