3. During the planning and research process I
used lots of different medias including…
■ Snapchat
■ Facebook
■ YouTube
■ Music channels
■ Google
■ Microsoft word
■ Gmail
■ Blogger
■ IPhone (texts and Facetime)
5. ■ We used Snapchat, Facebook and our IPhone to communicate to with each other
when we aren’t together, such as if one of us had a good idea we could message
or ring the other person to discuss the ideas and get each other input. This
allowed us to be able to organise and plan even when we weren’t together, to
contact each other, our actors and be able to plan when we wanted to shoot etc.
Maisie has over 1000 friends on her Facebook so a lot of people sees what she
posts so we chose to put out a post to ask people to act for us which helped us
communicate with our target audience.
■ We used Gmail as a way to send bigger files to each other such as Photoshop files
in which we needed the other person to edit etc.We also found through emailing
the images didn’t loose the high quality where as when we sent them through
mobile devices they would become rather pixelated so we decided it would be
better to email all our images to keep the quality high.
6. ■ We usedYouTube and google to study already created music videos, Digipaks and
Advertisements and how we can use similar skills in our work.
■ I usedYouTube to research for music videos created in my genre. I did this research on many
different devices including My IPhone, IPad, and school computers.YouTube is widely
accessible to any device withWi-Fi or 3G access. Google was another type of media that I used
while throughout my research process. I used google to search for many things including
DigiPaks,Advertisements and song lyrics etc. I found using 3G very useful as if we needed
certain information quickly then we could use our 3G to help us. An example of this includes
when me and my partner were filming, we forgot the lyrics and didn’t have them on us so we
googled them.
7. ■ I used Blogger a lot throughout the process of creating our resource to have
a place to publish all my work and allow Mr Parsons to see how I am doing.
Blogger was accessible from any device with internet or 3G which was very
helpful as I could access it from almost everywhere. I could all embed in
Music videos, my vox pops and my final music video to allow sir to see
everything.
■ Microsoft word was used a lot during the planning and research stage of
my project. I used MicrosoftWord for many things including writing the
lyrics to be printed out and planning our shooting schedule etc. By using
word it enabled us to be able to write up notes and send them to each other
in order to be able to help and plan with each other.
9. ■ During the construction of the music video, DigiPak and the
advertisement the school computers were used to create
everything. As some of the things I was creating was very big, I could
not save them onto my personal drive as I didn’t have enough room
so I had to save them onto the D drive which is the drive, specific to
one computer.
■ The camera I used was my own personal camera from home which I
believe was a cannon. We used the camera to film the video and also
take the pictures for our DigiPak andAdvertisement. I also has a
‘flexible tripod’ which is a tripod that bends and moulds its self to fit
around objects to get different angles. We chose to use a tripod
instead of hand held for a lot of our shots, as in our first music video
we found that our camera was very shaky so we needed to fix this by
making it more stable.
10. Adobe Premier Pro and Photoshop
■ To produce and edit the video we used Adobe Premier Pro, which is a video editing
software. It was very interesting to learn and use and I really enjoyed the process of
creating it. It allowed me to do lots of different things including cutting, slowing down,
speeding up, adding sounds, distorting videos and many other things, to create the
perfect video.
■ To produce and edit the DigiPaks and advertisements we used Photoshop. I had
already used Photoshop before as we were taught how to do it in year 12 by I enjoyed
advancing my knowledge. Using an editing software such as Photoshop enabled us to
be able to express ourselves and deliver across what we wanted to present in our
DigiPak and advertisement to our target audience.
■ We could only access these software's from school as our home computers did not
support this.
12. ■ Blogger was used to was used to be able to keep a track of our
every step of the process. It was accessible from any device with
internet access, so no matter when I was I could always upload or
post things I needed to. I tried to keep a track of how I was going
by creating a production log to remind my self what days I did
specific things to help me keep organised.
■ My final music video was uploaded ontoYouTube so that both Mr
Parsons and anyone who has internet connection can watch it. I
put it on public so that if any of my target audience wish to see it
they can watch it. If they like the song ‘on and on’ by cartoon,
when they search it up onYouTube my video should come up as
the songs name is in the title of my video.
