SAVOR THE SAVIOR – The HOT dog days of summer are here but we are COOL knowing that our Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ, won for us the comforts of Heaven. May you feel welcomed here and surrounded by the love of Jesus. We
ask visitors to let us know you were here by filling out the Fellowship Pad (it‘s in the hymnal rack) with today‘s date,
your name, address, phone number, etc.
PLEASE NOTIFY THE OFFICE – Has your contact information changed? Please make sure to share it with the church
office. We want to know we can keep in touch with all of our members by mail, email and telephone. Call 468-4065.
COUPONS – We need your unused manufacturer‘s coupons. Coupons can be expired up to two months. Coupons will
be mailed to military families serving overseas. For more details or to donate toward the cost of mailing, please contact
Michelle in the office at 468-4065. Please place your unused coupons in the specially marked box in the office hallway.
WANTED: SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS – Become a Sunday School teacher and see the joy in the little faces of
your students. More than one teacher per class means you don‘t have to be available EVERY Sunday. If you are
interested, please contact Julie Rusch at 406-9077 as soon as possible.
CONFIRMATION MEMORY WORK – By now, every 7th-9th grader at Our Saviour should have a list of items due for
memory work before class starts on September 15. The pastors are available before and after any church service to hear
you recite your memory work. If you still have questions, please call Michelle in the office at 468-4065. Keep in mind
that memory work must be done by September 15 for you to participate in Confirmation class.
CONFIRMATION REGISTRATION – If you plan to attend Confirmation classes this year as a Level I, II, or III
student, please complete a registration form, which can be found in the tall brochure holder by the Youth Bulletin Board
in the office hallway. Copies of the Confirmation calendar can also be found there. Completed forms can be placed in the
Church Secretary mailbox (outlined in red) across from the office.
ADOPT-A-BILL BOARD REPORT – New copies of bills are placed on the Adopt-A-Bill Board weekly. Payments
received thru August 22 ($5,665.09) have reduced the use of our reserves to pay bills this summer, when offerings are
lower. Thank you to all who have adopted a bill and also continue to contribute regularly to OSLC.
COFFEE, SODA, YOU? – As summer ends and fall begins, we are again in need of donations of coffee (regular and
decaf) for the coffee bar and kitchen as well as Coke and Pepsi products (regular, diet, and caffeine-free) for the upcoming
Friday Fish Fry dates. Donations can be brought directly to the kitchen anytime you come to church.
2. THRIVENT CHOICE – Members of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans may have received a letter indicating that they
have ‗Choice Dollars‘ to donate to Lutheran schools, churches and organizations. You must go online or call the toll-free
number to allocate your dollars; Our Saviour and Our Saviour Preschool are both registered as valid recipients. ‗Choice
Dollars‘ replaces the ‗Care in Congregations‘ and ‗GivingPlus‘ programs through which Our Saviour had received $2,000
or more annually. Please consider allocating at least a portion of your Choice Dollars to Our Saviour.
Coincidence is when God chooses to remain anonymous.
ROCK LADY THANKS YOU – Thanks to everyone who brought rocks to church for my painting hobby. I appreciate
all your bending and stooping and carrying! Check the basket in the office for a selection if you want one or two. I'll
keep painting. Jesus Rocks! Yes! -- Adeline
NYG ATTENDEES MEETING TONIGHT – Those who attended the 2010 national youth gathering are highly
encouraged to attend this evening's meeting to help in preparation for the Fall Rally youth presentation. The meeting is at
7pm (Sunday) in the youth room. Call Avra at 360-7544 with any last minute questions. Hope to see all of you tonight!
BRING ‗EM IN – Please continue to collect Coke Points, cell phones, and empty prescription pill bottles, as well as Box
Tops for Education, Labels for Education, milk caps, Capri Sun pouches, Tyron A+ certificates, and empty ink jet
cartridges (and now manufacturers coupons). Various groups supported by Our Saviour benefit from these donations.
LIKE TO KNIT—WANT TO LEARN? – LWML Knitting for Missions (Chicks with Stix) is meeting on Wednesday,
September 8 at 6:30pm in the Parlor. Call Caroline Arndt (469-3140) if you have any questions.
PACKERS RUNNERS – SIGN UP NOW for the regular season games. Twenty (20) runners are needed for every
Packers home game. An online alcohol service test must be taken by all workers. Please call Neil at 866-9088 or sign up
at the coffee bar. OSLC earns $50 per runner. Sign up sheets can be found on the island in the coffee bar area.
CALLING ALL KNITTERS! – We will be sorting projects at the next LWML meeting (September 13 @7pm in parlor.)
If you have finished projects sitting at home, bring them in! The deadline for gathering all current projects (so we can
distribute them) is November 1. New knitters may set up for lessons with Caroline Arndt.
LWML NEEDS COOKIE MAKERS – We're hosting an LWML Sunday and will need several dozen cookies. We also
could use some other volunteers (ushers, readers, etc.) If you would like to assist us with anything on October 10, let
Stephenie know: stephhov@hotmail.com or 264-8317.
ST PAUL LUTHERAN INSTALLS NEW PASTOR – On September 5, 2010, members of Our Saviour are invited to

Service of Vespers with the Rite of Installation will begin at 4pm. A potluck dinner will follow in the gym at 5pm.
RAY‘S 5K RUN/WALK AND KATIE‘S KIDS‘ RUN – The N.E.W. Lutheran High School Blazer Alumni Association
is busy planning this fun, family-oriented fundraiser for Saturday, September 25th. We are currently looking for business
partners to help us grow this event, and we think your business logo would look great on 3,300 registration flyers and 225
T-shirts. If you are interested in this unique opportunity to promote your business while supporting a community-wide
event, please contact Jeff Luepke at 265-3192 or kluepke@new.rr.com to talk about your sponsorship options.
LUTHERAN COLLEGE FAIR – A Lutheran College Fair will be held Monday, August 30th at Thrivent Financial for
Lutherans (4321 N Ballard Road) from 7-9pm. (Registration at 6:45pm; 7pm Financial Aid Seminar; 7:30-9pm College
Fair). Representatives will answer questions regarding admission, academic programs, student life, housing, and financial
aid. A financial aid and financial planning workshop will be conducted to assist families with the college search process.

receive four Application Fee Waivers (up to a $60 value each!) applicable for any Lutheran College/University listed on
the fee waiver. The Lutheran College Fair is sponsored in part by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

LIFE QUOTE – ―So great is my veneration for the Bible, and so strong my belief, that when duly read and meditated on,
it is of all books in the world, that which contributes most to make men good, wise and happy—that the earlier my
children begin to read it…the more lively and confident will be my hopes that they will prove useful citizens of their
country.‖ John Quincy Adams, former president of the United States This ―Life Quote‖ is from Lutherans for Life -
