The document discusses the plans for a photoshoot for a magazine cover and spreads. It will need 2 assistants for lighting and photographing to allow the model/photographer to direct. Close up shots will be used without props, except possibly a guitar for a double page spread. For the cover, a close up of the face will have a dark background and bright makeup to make the face stand out. A double page spread will show playing guitar in a dark setting. Personnel and models have been briefed on the goals and facial expressions. A black backdrop, 3 point lighting and high/low key lighting will be used. Shooting will take place in a university studio. Bright colored makeup and casual clothes will be worn.
1. What emotional impact do you want your
photography do have upon the reader?
How?
I want to make the reader feel quite
happy and intrigued to see this on a
cover. I will do this by making all of my
images light hearted and full of smile.
Due to my target audience being very
young everything in the magazine has
be over the top and excitable.
What personnel do you need? Who are you
going to photograph?
To create the photos I will need to have
at least another 2 people helping with
the lighting settings and also taking the
images so that I can direct the model and
tell them how to improve their pose. I am
trying to use a model for some of my
images however, I would like to use
myself in at least one of the photos.
What props will you need?
I wont be using many props
as I'm mainly wanting to use
close ups. On y double page
spread I want to use a guitar
to outline what type of music
the person will play and also
maybe eve a microphone.
How are you going to emphasise colour?
For the front cover I plan to do a close up
of my face. I want the background to be
really dark and my face to be very light
and fresh, with my makeup very bright
and vibrant so that it stands out well.
Adding a bit of colour to the front page.
For the double page spread I want to use
quite a dark setting and have me
positioned so that I look like I'm playing
the guitar.
Have you briefed your
personnel/models?
I have briefed my personnel and
models as I have emailed and
explained to the face to face about
the aims of the photoshoot and how
I want them to help me. I told my
models what sort of facial
expressions I want to use so that
they can prepare and practise.
What lighting will you need? Any
other equipment?
I will be using one camera and a
black screen behind. I want to use
three point lighting so that I don’t
have any shadows for my contents
page images but then for the front
page I want use high key lighting
to enhance my face and also low
key lighting for the double page
spread image to create a deliberate
shadow.
Where will you shoot? Will you
need a backdrop?
I will be taking my photos in
the local universities studio.
I'm also going use a black
backdrop.
Make-up? Costume?
For my makeup styles I will use
quite prominent colour make up
tones like pinks for my eyes and
lips as it will match in with my
girly target audience. My clothes
style will be very casual and
relaxed as I don’t want he picture
to look to uptight.
