2. I feel the biggest impact I want the majority of my photos to give a sense of
reliability as I want my target audience to trust my images and my product as a
whole. I wan to use regional images to give my readers and viewers a relatable
feel when looking at my images. Aspects such as locations, makeup and
clothing must not be something that my audience can not do themselves.
However due to it being a prom magazine I want several images that portray a
sense of challenge in order to make them feel special on their big day and feel
like a princess as people wish to be.
What emotional impact do you want your
photography to have upon the reader? How?
3. What personnel do you need? Who are you
going to photograph?
My photographs will be host to a number of different people all around the same
age as they will all be leaving secondary school and going on to college. Due t my
genre of prom I have a narrowed down audience. This is also a heavily female
magazine and therefore this will influence the models I have.
4. What props will you need?
I initially decided that I would not use propos when taking my photographs. However
when going through my own prom photos for inspiration I found the photos will props
just as glassed or the makeup used will make it feel more natural to the audience and
more relatable. For example for my nail images I will have the models holding a rock
with the shop title on the front. This is a recognizable feature for this shop and it may
therefore be highlighted by the target audience from the regional area.
5. How are you going to emphasise colour?
Hopefully the dresses In which my models are wearing will be emphaised through
the use of lighting and colours surrounding the images. For example I may have a
dull grey/ black background in which my models have a brightly coloured dress on
In order for it to pop to my target audiience and stand out on the page. I could also
emphasise it in the editing process, exoerimenting with the editing options available
in photoshop.
6. Have you briefed your personnel/ models?
At the moment I have asked my models if they are willing to take part in my media
work as models, However I have not made any proof of this yet. I plan to create a
contract as well as showing messages between myself and my models confirming
this.
7. What lighting will you need? Any other
equipment?
For my on location images I will mainly use natural lighting I order to capture my
models truly. However there will be several studio shots in which I will use three point
lighting to make my photos look polished when placing them on my product. I will use
my own camera for the on the scene images however when using the studio I will
need to take my memory card and battery.
8. Where will you shoot? Will you need a
backdrop?
I will shoot in three, regional locations. Seaburn beach, The Ramside, and personal
homes. I need these area to provide there own natural backdrop so they can be
recognisable to my target audience.
9. Make-up? Costume?
Although I am yet to inform my models of the essential information of the shoot,
I do have a clear idea of the types of makeup and costumes I want. This will be
easy as it will be what they are having for prom and therefore can decide
themselves in order for their personality to show through on the images in order
to attract to my target audience. In the studio I will ty to replicate this look.
