2. Norway after the WW2
• After the 2nd World War, there was a big shortage of
food, materials and clothes for all the Norwegian
people
• There was much distress, people froze because the
electricity was turned off for hours each day, food was
rationed.
• The whole Finnmark county was burned down by the
Germans. And in Bergen over 1,000 homes were
destroyed. Molde and Kristiansand were in ruins after
the German bombing.
• Rebuilding Norway after the war was a huge task, but
Norway managed to stand upright again after a few
years. A reason for this was the Marshall Help.
3. Marshall Plan.
• The Marshall plan was also called The
european Recovery plan.
• The mind behind the plan was George
Marshall, who was US Secretary of State
at the time.
• The plan was an economic aid program
from the US to Europe after the Second
World War.
