3. Research
• During research for music videos in my genre, I used google to use the
most video concentrated website of all which wasYouTube. This was done
on my laptop. I used Google as my search engine as its very fast and
reliable. I used it to seek information about my genre, information about
our bandThe Script, we used it to find the lyrics for us to analyze2 to
Superheroes. Another way google was used was to use google images to
see images of previous digipaks to see what my digipaks looked like, what
codes and conventions are for digipaks.
• I also used my mobile phone incase we needed quick access to the internet
on the spot.
• YouTube was used to find music videos for research for our top 5 music
video analysis. So I found 5 videos offYouTube and analyzed them. I would
not have been abled to do it withoutYouTube.
4. Blogger – Research & Planning
• My group and I used blogger 99% of the time. It was used to upload our
findings and work on. Blogger is good as its simple and easy to use and also
keeps all our posts dated, named and labelled. Blogger was used
throughout the project for me, from the begging post of research and
planning all the way to evaluation.
• We could embed images, picture, video, PowerPoints and word documents
to show where we were getting out inspiration from and also to display our
work.
• We could embed planning documents such as questionnaires , shooting
schedule and risk assessment.
• I used blogger like a personal diary, constantly updating it with ideas,
progress and final edits.
5. Microsoft Office – Research & Planning
• Microsoft was used quit a lot, it was used to create questionnaires,
making graphs to analyze.
• Word was used to create my weekly updates, questionanaires, shot
lists, risk assessment, institution research. It was used to copy and
paste lyrics on to, for multiple purposes.
• PowerPoint was used for the evaluation. Research about music
videos, analyzing music posters and adverts, codes and conventions
of music videos, posters, digipaks etc.
• Word and PowerPoint were a good software to use as I have been
using for many years and find it very easy to use.
6. Mobile Phone, Laptop – Research &
Planning
• My phone helped me when it came to organisation, making plans as
to when to meet what needs to be filmed. My phone was also used to
film behind the scenes of our music video.
• Laptop was used for extensive research using the home internet
during out of school hours. I was able to use it to upload to blogger
and use many of the software I spoke about. I was able to create
PowToon presentations, I used slide share to be able to embed
PowerPoints into the blog, I used Scribd to upload word documents
to the blog.
8. Construction
• A canon 1200 was used to film the entire music video, it was used to take
the digipak images. The tripod was also used in many aspects of the
construction of the video. This was so the music video looks as professional
as possible.
• Once filmed, we would transfer the data into my laptop and I would started
editing, using SonyVegas Movie Studio. This software was used to create
the music video, all the rough cuts and also the behind the scenes.
• For certain scenes we had to use the zoom lens which are the longer lends in
the previous slide.
• Photoshop was used to create the digipak, create the music poster. We
uploaded the images and I edited them on Photoshop
to make them look like the desired product.
9. Editing
• The video editing was done using
SonyVegas movie studio, it
supports many video editing cards
and plug-ins for accelerated
processing. It also has many file
support formats, the most famous
being MP4. As my laptop is a 64bit
running PC I had to get he 64 but
one as a 32but would not work on a
64 bit.
• Photoshop can open many file
types and be edited on Adobe
Photoshop. Any changes were
always saved automatically by the
new version of Adobe Cloud.
10. Evaluation - PowerPoint
• Microsoft Office product that provides users with an interface to
design multimedia slides to be displayed on a projection system or
personal computer. The software incorporates images, sounds,
videos, text, and charts to create an interactive presentation.
Microsoft PowerPoint interacts with other Office products such as
MicrosoftWord and Excel, and is included with most Microsoft Office
packages
• This was used to present many things such as 2 evaluation questions.
This is because PowerPoint can be used with videos, images and also
looks very proffesioanl.
12. Evaluation – Camtasia
• Two of my evaluation questions are exhibited using a video. In order
to do this I had to use Camtasia to record my entire computer screen.
Once it was then done, I had to edit it on Camtasia and then export it
as a MP4 file which is compatible with blogger. However before doing
that the video had to be uploaded toYouTube first.
14. Evaluation - Blogger
• Blogger was used to record our filming, editing, research and
planning activities that were done throughout the process
• Blogger was very easy to use on iMacs at school,Windows laptops at
home and even on mobile phones using the BloggerApp.
• My blog was always up to date. It was used to summarise all my
posts, all my posts were labelled and dated so its wasier to view
specific posts.
15. Evaluation – Survey Monkey
• Survey monkey is a website that was used to give out my
questionnaire. You create a questionnaire online and give out the link.
People can then answer it online and that’s it.Then I can go and
analyse it which is what I done for one of my evaluation questions.
16. Evaluation - YouTube
• Once my video was made and edited on Camtasia, the file was too
large to put straight on to blogger, so I had to upload it toYouTube
and then embed the link into blogger to upload the evaluation video.
17. Evaluation – PowerPoint/Slideshare
• For my evaluation PowerPoint was used to show the visual
presentations. PowerPoint files are not able to be uploaded straight
through blogger, so I had to upload the PowerPoints to Slidesahre
and then get he embedded link and attached it to the blog.
