AMP
(Adenosine Monophosphate)
• AMP is a substance essential to
energy production in the body
• A cup of coffee or hot chocolate
cause 12-fold increase in the
absorption rate of AMP.
The breakdown products of
caffeine…
• Interfere with an enzyme which
converts adenosine monophosphate,
resulting in reduced energy.
That means that if you consume a big cup of
coffee with 200 mg of caffeine in it at 3:00
PM, by 9:00 PM about 100 mg of that
caffeine is still in your system.
The half-life of caffeine
is about 6 hours.

Caffeine is not removed completely using any of
these methods, but under federal regulations in the
United States, caffeine levels must not be above 2.5
percent of the product in order for a product to be
labeled "decaffeinated."

Caffeine Free?
• Coffee oils; Caffeols are irritating to the
stomach and to the remainder of the
digestive tracts, stimulating more acid
production.
• Studies on young rats showed that giving
caffeine-free coffee significantly retard
their rate of growth.
Coffee and Bladder Cancer
• Women who drink only one cup of coffee per
day have almost three times greater risk of
getting bladder cancer than abstainers!
• The association of coffee with bladder cancer in
women was no different whether decaffeinated,
non-decaffeinated, regular or instant coffee had
been drunk, or whether the coffee was brewed
strong or weak.
• All member of this food group (caffeine drinks)
cause problems for hypoglycemics and diabetics

• Two cups of coffee significantly raises blood
sugar, thus leading to high incidence of
functional hypoglycemia in coffee drinkers.

Caffeine has been found to be harmful to
diabetics and to potential diabetics.
Higher blood sugar levels have been recorded
in diabetics at 30 ,69, 90 minutes following
test meals when coffee was added.

Individuals with and without coronary disease
have been tested after drinking coffee.
It was found that both groups had 4 to 5 times
more free fatty acids in their
blood after drinking black coffee.

 Do not allow leisure time to accumulate as idleness
 Keep a dairy
 Control the diet rigidly
 Avoid over eating
 Avoid sugar or any other concentrated sweets
 Avoid the use of oils
 Drowsiness: A brush massage before a shower or a short
cool or hot bath (3-8 minuets) followed by a brisk
rubdown.
 A tepid bath for 20 minutes for nervous.
 Do not allow dehydration to occur.

• Keep tall glass of cool water handy or a cup of
herb tea.
• Do not become concerned over withdrawal
symptoms theses will disappear in a few days.
• Headache: 20 –30 minutes – hot foot bath for
those who do not have reduction in arterial blood
flow to the feet and legs.
• If symptoms are unbearable put a cup of brown
drink in the refrigerator and take a tablespoon
of the drink and wait 30 minutes. Repeat as needed.
