3. INTRODUCTION:-
• Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), a public sector undertaking under the
administrative control of the Ministry of Mines, was incorporated on 9th
November 1967
• Shri K.D.Diwan, Chairman-cum-Managing Director.
• The Company markets copper cathodes, copper wire bar, continuous cast
copper rod and by-products, such as anode slime (containing gold, silver,
etc.), copper sulphate and sulphuric acid.
• More than 90% of the sales revenue is from cathode and continuous cast
copper rods.
• In concluded financial year 2006-07, as per provisional estimates, the
Company has earned a all time highest net profit Rs 331 crore against a
sales turnover of Rs 1800 crore.
4. UNITS OF HCL:-
• Khetri Copper Complex (KCC) at Khetrinagar, Rajasthan
• Indian Copper Complex (ICC) at Ghatsila, Jharkhand
• Malanjkhand Copper Project (MCP) at Malanjkhand, Madhya Pradesh
• Taloja Copper Project (TCP) at Taloja, Maharashtra
• Gujarat Copper Project (GCP) at Jhagadia, Gujarat
5. KHETRI COPPER COMPLE (KCC):-
• Khetri is situated at the foothills of the Aravalli Range.
• which hosts copper mineralization, giving rise to a 80 km long
metallogenetic province from Singhana in the north to Raghunathgarh in
the south, popularly known as Khetri Copper Belt
• Khetri comprises of Khetri town and Khetrinagar.
• Khetri town was founded by Raja Khet Singhji Nirwan, and Khetrinagar,
which is about 10 km away from Khetri town, is developed and maintained
by Hindustan Copper Limited.
7. CAPICITY OF KCC:-
• Capacity 1.0 million tonnes of ore per annum.
• Process plants to produce 31,000 TPA of refined copper
ORE OF COPPER
8. ROPE WAY:-
• It transports copper ore from
Kolihan to Khetri plant.
• There are 55 tower and 6
substation.
• Total length of rope way is 15 km.
• There are 65 buckets and capacity
of each buckets is 1 tonne.
• Maximum speed of rope is 2.8
m/s.
• Minimum speed of rope is 1.4
m/s.
• Rope is drive with the help of 280
HP motor.
10. GRINDING:-
• Grinding is done in the Ball Mills
and Rod Mills.
• The limits of particles from 5µs to
300µs.
• After grinding ore is forward for
Forth Flotation.
• Froth flotation is a process for
selectively separating hydrophobic
materials from hydrophilic.
13. COMPRESSOR HOUSE:-
• There are four KIRLOSKAR
compressors and one is
CAMERON compressor.
• Compressor house provides
compressed air to the mines to
drive different pneumatic motors.
• This is also makes mines place
workable.
14. MMR SHOP:-
• In Mining Machine Repair
(MMR) shop, the pneumatic
motors are repaired which are
used in mines.
• Assembly of pneumatic motors.
• Repairing of loaders.
15. CONCLUSION:-
• In review this internship has been an excellent and rewarding experience.
• I have been able to meet and network with so many people that I am sure
will be able to help me with opportunities in the future.
• One main thing that I have learned through this internship is time
management skills.
