4. Feedback collected - Facebook
Our Group created a Facebook page in order for us to a variety of feedback
from the public.
From the feedback collected we realised :
- We had not paid enough attention to the size of the title but only focused
on the font which would match our genre
- - We did not add enough extra information such as the certificate of our
film. Previously we had done audience research allowing us to identify
who we are targeting.
- - There is no border or frame around the background. This makes the
Poster to not look as professional
- - When we created the credits we did not know exactly where to put it as
the poster has not frame therefore this lead to the credits not looking
professional which was identifies by the public
6. Feedback collected - YouTube
Another social media website we used to collect audience feedback
was YouTube. This was useful as many the video can go viral
allowing feedback form many people world wide. From our
YouTube response we were given a mix of positive and negative
comments
- We received positive feedback such as the font used for the title
being ‘Ghastly Panic’ was appealing as it gives off a scary effect
- The background colour suits the genre as it is seen to be dusky and
Gory
- The credits used looks professional
- The image used needs to be shrunken down as it covers the actors
name above
7. Focus Group Comments
“like the font used on the title as I like how it gave a spooky effect”
“The colours used on the letters R and O was good. Very
unique”
“I think the poster signifies and mystery behind the death this is because
the background Is black and that gives a mystery effect”
“The background can be a different colour as it will be more effective”
“There needs to be a certificate given to show the age
rating.”
8. Feedback collected – Focus Group
From the qualitative feedback collected from my focus group we
have gathered positive and negative information such as:
- Typical conventions of film poster such as the film rating need
to be included as it does not look professional and can be
easily identified
- Members within my focus group thought the black
background signifies mystery narrative
- We need to add more colour to the background to make the
poster more affective
- The font used gives a spooky effect which matches our
psychological thriller genre.
9. Overall how we improved
Overall we have taken on all feedback given from our target
audience and the public.
We have made several changes such as minimizing the size of
the still image of our male protagonist in order for it not to
clash with the names at the top
In addition we have added more extra information such as
who sponsored the film, the certificate our film has been
given and also moved the credits up in order to create
space
10. We have also created a faint border around the poster as
we used a dark gradient and used a grunge background
that has been feathered making it faint to see. This was
done in order to make the poster to look more effective
other than the background being plain
In addition we changed the backdrop of our poster to a
grunge background. This was done in order for us to
carry out our house style through out our promotional
package as this allowed our target audience to recognise
it
We have also increased the size of the title allowing it to
stand out more but not to over power the image used for
the poster
Overall how we improved
14. Feedback collected - general
From the qualitative feedback collected I received
effective feedback which contributed to my creative
decisions:
- The use of the columns for the ‘new indie film stars’
on the right made it look professional
- Powerful image
- Varies of colours used
- Stockholm syndrome title is not clear
- Darker background
16. I received qualitative feedback from those who left
comments on my previous magazine drafts:
- Colour clashed, therefore some texts cannot be read
such as “reverting Sundance winner”.
- Genre was not visible due to the background not
leaving an impact
- Stockholm syndrome title is too small
Feedback collected - slide share
18. Here I received feedback in the comment section which
influenced my creative decisions:
- Price of magazine is not included
- Cover line is not clear
- Use grunge background used for rest of promotional
package

19. Overall how we improved
We changed the background for the magazine and used the
backdrop used for the poster and trailer credits as we
wanted to create a house style through out the
promotional package. Also for our audience to recognise
our film and the genre being psychological thriller
Once we changed the backdrop we were able to change the
cover lines moving it to the top right and using a white
font to stand out from the dark grunge background
making it more clear and to avoid colour clash
We also added the price of the magazine to the barcode as
well as media convergence such as the website next to
the masthead
