Dreamcatchers Research Paper
GOAL My goal for this project is to plan and make different dreamcatchers. I am not the most
creative and crafty person so I am hoping that this project will challenge me. I would like to make a
few different styles of dreamcatcher and by the end of this project I would like to have at least three
dreamcatchers that will showcase the work I will do. I chose to make dreamcatchers because I am
interested in the mythology of dreamcatchers and I love the way that they look. I already had one
dreamcatcher at home and thought that if I could make more I can use the dreamcatchers I make
instead of going and buying a store bought dreamcatcher. THE PLAN The plan for my project is to
make three dreamcatchers. I started with the idea that I would make ... Show more content on

I have started working out how much the project will cost me and where I will buy my materials. I
have started to get an idea of what style dream catchers I will make and have decided that I will
make my dream catchers have a white lacey theme. I am going to make three dream catchers.
20/07/16 I have changed my mind and am now making three dream catchers; one will be white with
a lace dolly in its center and white feathers and ribbon. The second will be mainly yellow and will
have some pink beads and feathers. The third will be mainly blue and will have some pink beads and
feathers. I have nearly worked out most of my costing and will be buying my materials in the next
week. 27/07/16 This week I have bought all my materials for my dreamcatchers. I have done more
research on how to make a dreamcatcher and have started making my first dreamcatcher. I am
currently about halfway my first dreamcatcher. 2/08/16 This week I have finished my first
dreamcatcher and this lesson I am starting my second dreamcatcher.

Society Vs American Society
On July 17th 2016, I stood in front of the presidential hall of the University of Toledo gazing at the
beauty of the architecture the college building possessed, and I anticipated what the University of
Toledo had to teach me through the youth nations program. I along with the hundreds of other
students from all over the country, stood there glancing around, with our ambitious eyes, and hopes
to get what University of Toledo has to offer. As I walked in and met the students, professors and
attended the one week long camp, I started to realize that the University of Toledo and I had the
same thing in common, same vision, same goal: to help flourish what already exists. Exactly 6 days
later, after the camp was over, I again stood in front of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The View Of Toledo By El Greco
The View of Toledo by El Greco reflects Nick's perspective on the contrasting qualities of the East
and West Egg. When describing the East, he seems in awe, using adjectives with strongly positive
connotations– "the East excited me the most... I was most keenly aware of its superiority to the
...towns beyond the Ohio" (Fitzgerald 167). After the First World War, Nick and his Lost Generation
returned feeling restless and seeking for change. With the excitement and energy the Roaring 20's
brought to New York, Nick and many other young members were attracted to the vivacious city. The
grandiose expeditions of these young Americans and their determination for materialistic success
creates a gap in the socio–economic society, between those who lived

Reflection Paper
I stood atop a wooden stage found in an auditorium located in the University of Toledo. While
standing there, Dan Stark, the Toledo region's current engineer of the year, handed me a scholarship
while the sound of applause filled the large building. The framed sheet of paper had a four–digit
number written in it in large font: $1,000. To understand the circumstances that led up to this event
one must observe the past and how I learned the importance of hard work.
It all started a few months ago when the Mathcounts season restarted after its hiatus over the
Summer. Each Wednesday night, for the better part of a year, our team met at McCord. During these
meetings we discussed strategies to quickly and accurately complete a plethora of types of math
problems, spanning from simple algebra to more difficult tasks such as theoretical geometry, applied
constructive counting, and advanced probability questions. To compound all this, I had personally
been completing tests used in past state competitions. All this was in preparation for the Toledo
regional Mathcounts tournament held in February.
When the day of the tournament finally arrived, the four–man, McCord varsity team, comprised of
Frank Lee, Pravin Jayatissa, Krishna Saraiya, and me, woke up at an outrageously early time. The
four of us met up in a common room found in the University of Toledo and sat around a circular
table while consuming a few bagels topped with Philadelphia cream cheese which the tournament
organizers had provided for us. We talked very little, for each of us was trying to cram in a few more
Pythagorean Triples into our minds or attempting to learn some more formulas.
After our breakfast was complete, we filed into an auditorium with about two hundred other students
all hungry for victory. Inside the auditorium, we found a multitude of other familiar faces which
resided in other schools such as Brian Li of Maumee Valley and David Lui of Timberstone. On any
other day these individuals would have been allies, but on this day they were enemies. A multitude
of mathletes were mingling in a relatively quiet state, when the organizer of the entire tournament,
Dan Stark, walked to center–stage. In a deafening voice made even more potent with

El Greco: The Burial Of Count Of Orgaz
El Greco is a well–known Greek artist whose work during the Spanish Renaissance made him
famous. Born 1541 in Crete, El Greco eventually made his way to Venice where he found himself
under the instruction of Titian (El Greco). After moving to Toledo, Spain at age thirty–five, he
continued his career as an artist until his death. Some of his works include The Holy Trinity, The
Assumption of the Virgin, and The Burial of Count of Orgaz (El Greco – The Complete Works). All
of these paintings show his unique expressionistic style that led him to fame so many decades after
his death. Artist El Greco was commissioned to paint The Assumption of the Virgin for the central
panel of the high altar of the church for Santo Domingo el Antiguo in Toledo (The Assumption of
the Virgin). After El Greco arrived in Spain, this piece became his first significant commission.

This painting was created in honor of the local hero Count Orgaz who donated a large sum of money
to the Santo Tome Church. After his death, Count Orgaz was buried by the Cardinal and clerics in
1312. "The story goes that during this ceremony, the heavens erupted spontaneously and friends and
mourners witnessed a sky filled with images of Jesus, the Virgin, St. John, and several other saints
and angels..." (The Burial of the Count of Orgaz). According to legend, this extraordinary
phenomenon occurred because the saints were rewarding the Count for his generosity to the church.
Once again, his use of Mannerist style is evident in the extended and slightly distorted figures of the
funeral attendees. El Greco's The Burial of the Count of Orgaz still remains at the Santo Tome
Church where visitors from around the world still flock to view it. Even to this day it is universally
considered to be his greatest masterpiece (The Burial of the Count of

Domenikos Theotokopoulos Research Paper
Domenikos Theotokopoulos also known as El Greco was born in Candia, Crete, in 1541. He moved
to Venice in 1567 because Crete was Venetian territory. In Venice, he learned the elements of
Renaissance painting. He learned how to use perspective, figural construction, and the ability to
stage elaborate narratives.
Domenikos Theotokopoulos received the name El Greco which means "The Greek" when he lived
in italy because of his greek descent. One of his trademarks is signing his paintings in greek letters.
El Greco was rumored to have left Rome because he criticized Michelangelo's Last Judgement in
the Sistine Chapel. He had moved to Spain where he opened up a shop in the hopes of working for
King Philip II. In 1577, he arrived in Toledo where

History comes in all shapes, sizes and forms. When being interested in history, it is often hard to find
actual artifacts from the past. Spain is one of the many places where the famous, epic Roman
Empire took control and actually built some of the cities and buildings there. There is really no need
to only go to Italy to see Roman ruins. The Roman Empire stretched far out and left a good amount
of ruins in Spain that is preserved to be a look back into old Rome. Spain is a wonderful country to
visit in order to see Roman ruins because of the conserved artifacts, history, and Toledo,Spain

Roman Ruins Of Spain Essay
Essay by Kentrell Hardemon – Pace
Would you like to see amazing broken down buildings from hundreds of years ago? Then Spain is
the best place to go. I say this because, Spain was under the Roman Empire's influence for more
than 700 years. The Romans helped the Spanish build many amazing structures and cities, what are
now considered Roman ruins. Spain is the place to visit to see Roman ruins because the Roman
Empire's lasting influence/ the history and culture that is exhibited in the Alhambra, and the
numerous historic sites in Toledo, Spain.

Painting : The View Of Toledo By El Greco
View of Toledo is an artwork by El Greco dated to 1599–1600. The painting's present location is the
Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is a large oil painting 47 3/4 x 42 3/4 in. El Greco depicts landscape
of the city Toledo, where he lived for a long period of his life. The artist faithfully depicted real
architecture of Toledo, however he rearranged some buildings, e. g. moving cathedral next to the
royal palace. The View of Toledo wasn't meant to be an accurate geographical description, but
emblematic view of the city. Though the artwork can be classified as genre painting, the artist could
transform steady terrain view into organic landscape. By using carefully organized composition and
lively brushstrokes, El Greco masterly conveyed the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The figures are very tiny and barely noticeable. The landscape and the city predominate the
composition.
The artist uses a dark palette: deep blue for the sky, darker green for the trees, grey for the buildings.
Buildings and clouds are touched with highlights. The elements of the landscape are separated by
intense shadows. Riverbanks, curves between the hills, contours of the architecture have black
outline. Overall somber tone adds depth to the scene and the intensity of the color makes the
composition more expressive.
Viewer can easily spot the artist's hand. Defined texture of some areas of the painting gives an idea
about how El Greco was "molding" the View of Toledo. The trees at the bottom and the sky are
painted with long flowing brushstrokes, hills on the left side have fluid–like surface, hills on the
horizon are done with short and sharp brushstrokes. We can follow the artist's brush and create
painting together with him. This visible movement of artist's hand introduces dynamism to the entire
composition. Together intensity of the color and readable artist's hand turn ordinary view into
energetic landscape.
The painting can be divided into two parts: land at the bottom and sky on top. Noticeably, sky takes
almost a half of the painting. It suggests importance of this element for the entire composition.
Indeed El Greco's depiction of a heaven is very

Capital Budgeting
The main principle of the capital budget is to channel the total distribution of state expenditures for
public services. To present the greatest possible outline of current and planned capital investments
and assure state governments' ability to borrow will not increase nor decrease. This paper will
discuss how the debt capacity of state is established and then discuss and assess the effect of
repaying or reorganizing current debt commitment. This paper will also discuss different funding
substitutes that can be used to support debt commitment. This paper will utilized the City of Toledo,
whose capital budget is a 4 year plan, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Lee, Johnson, & Joyce (2008), Capital budgets assist in deciding how much of
each type of investment is necessary, and assist in evaluating available revenues (including loans) to
finance those investments.
States and most local governments do not use current revenues to pay for their capital projects. For
example, the construction of prisons, school building, or public university. These projects are
usually financed from bond revenues. The purchasers of the bond lend the funds to the states that are
necessary to finance the project. States, in turn, pledge to pay the bondholders the principal of the
loan plus a stipulated rate of return according to Gosling (2002). According to Lee, Johnson, &
Joyce (2008), In the United States, although some local governments borrow from banks for
temporary operating funds, the main source of debt finance is the issuance of bonds.
Determining Debt Capacity
The City of Toledo has a bond insurance practice, and funds which contains working with fiscal
working groups in planning of the Order, disclosure information, and the organizing of the bond
transactions. The City of Toledo has numerous different fund, as well as the General Fund, the
Capital Fund and several others. All revenues and disbursements flow into and out of one or more
funds (City of Toledo, 2014). The vast bulk of the attention paid throughout the budget

Understanding the Artwork of Domenikos Theotokopoulos
View of Toledo Like many historical artists, it is impossible to understand the artwork of
Domenikos Theotokopoulus without understanding his historical context. Theotokopoulus received
the nickname El Greco, which means the Greek, during his lifetime, and this nickname reveals a
significant detail about his identity as a man, as well as his identity as an artist. This was because his
nationality played an important role in his artwork, so that his nationality could almost be described
as synonymous with his work during that time. "The Mediterranean world of the sixteenth century–
the world of El Greco– was a world in which three civilisations coexisted, interacted and clashed:
the Latin West; the Greek Orthodox East; and the civilization of Islam. As a Cretan, and hence a
subject of Venice, Domenikos Theotokopoulos, known as El Greco (1541–1614), belonged both to
the Greek East and to Latin Christendom. He and his generation lived much of their lives in the
shadow of the confrontation between Christendom and Islam." View of Toledo, which is El Greco's
only pure landscape, is a wonderful example of this cultural clash that highlighted El Greco's
artistry, and it provides a stark example of this confrontation between cultures, as it features a
dramatic difference between the earth and the sky in the landscape of Toledo, Spain. El Greco was
born in the Greek island of Crete. Although he engaged in other forms of art, El Greco was best
known as a painter, particularly a

The Struggle In Ma Rainey's Musical Prowess
While Ma Rainey's musical prowess makes her position as a success seem bearable, the story of the
blacks' struggle is portrayed through the band members. Toledo, an intellectual and the only literate
member of the band, mirrors Ma's strong connection to heritage by connecting deeply with his
African roots. In spite of this, a major flaw of Toledo's is using his knowledge to demean those in
the band not as concerned with the colored man's position in white society. The basis for his blemish
is his belief that the black man is the source of his own suffering, and the race as a whole needs to
act together, as Toledo says, "Now, what's the colored man gonna do with himself? That's what we
waiting to find out. But first we gotta know we the leftovers" ... Show more content on

While it seems that Levee's experiences witnessing his mother being gang raped and attacked would
lead him to live the life of a powerless black man in a white world, Levee instead possesses an
intense warrior spirit to thrive in the music industry. Despite his energized enthusiasm, Levee is
ignorant of the hierarchical power of whites, as Tom Koontz describes, "It is as if the knife that
slashed across his eight–year–old breast shone a light into his mind that blinded him to all but the
most straightforward but superficial of meanings" (Koontz 4). While it is clear Levee's thinking is
mostly straightforward, his plan to deal with the white man is derived from his father's actions after
his mother's rape as Levee defends himself, "My daddy wasn't spooked up by the white man. Nosir!
And that taught me how to handle them. I seen my daddy go up and grin in this crackers face... that
taught me how to handle them" (Wilson 70). Tragically, Levee's ignorance of his father's death,
while also trying to stiff the white man, leaves Levee both a murderer and a powerless black man

Learn and Develop New Painting Skills while Accomplishing...
The goal of my personal project was to learn and develop new painting skills while accomplishing
something that I have always wanted to do. My original plan was to learn all of the functions and
possibilities of the human brain, but I then decided that that was not something I wanted to pursue
and that it wasn't something I could personally connect with. The idea of learning to paint a tree
sprung when I brainstormed on my past ideas and interests, and I decided that that was something I
would like to pursue.
I have always been interested in the art of painting and the detail and effort you should out into it.
When I was in elementary we took a trip to the Toledo Art Museum and I saw a lot of really detailed
paintings and I've always thought it would be cool of I could paint something myself. I have
multiple sketches of trees and doodles, but I thought a painting would be way more in depth. I have
always just found trees interesting, possibly because they serve purposes ranging from giving us
fresh oxygen to being a spot to swing from as a child.
My topic links closet to the Approaches to Learning category. It links to this are the best because I
am attempting to learn how to paint. One of the factors in approaches to learning includes
communication, in order for me to be successful I had to communicate with art teachers in order to
plan a time and place to learn how to paint. Another factor in approaches to learning is
organizational skills and attitudes towards work, in

Lucas County Public Transportation
Public Transportation For Lucas County
Lucas County doesn't have an efficient form of public transportation and is in desperate need of one.
In modern America the automobile is a necessary part of life; there is almost no way to get from
point A to B without a car. Unfortunately, many people don't have access to a personal automobile
and are left to depend on unreliable, inefficient, public transportation. The most common form of
public transportation in Lucas County today is the bus, although on paper busses are viable, in
reality they ultimately fall short of what is required of public transportation. Today there are more
cars on the road than ever before, subsequently there is more traffic than ever before meaning these
busses are subject ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Currently strides are being made by Lucas County and partnering organizations to create cab
services that offer transportation for people working jobs with hours outside of typical bus
schedules. Tina Skeldon Wozniak, president of the Lucas County Commissioners in an interview
with The Toledo Blade said: "It's an area that we've all known has been a problem, but there wasn't a
solution attached to this problem yet," she went on to say: "Lucas County is providing $25,000 for
the program, and ProMedica, Owens Corning, Black & White Transportation, and Lucas
Metropolitan Housing Authority each contributed $5,000. Mercy Health gave $2,500, Mathews Ford
Oregon gave $500, and Mosser Construction gave $250, for a total of $48,250." Though this is a
valiant effort and will go a long way to help those in need of transportation, it still won't solve all of
the problems caused by ineffective public

I Want To Become A Pre-Physical Therapist
To B.G. or Not to Be Choosing what to do after high school is a major decision in life and for most
it is the first big decision that will lead to many others. I have always wanted to go to college but

I decided that I wanted to be a Physical Therapist so now I have to choose which path I want to go
down to earn my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. If I went to BGSU then I would go there for four
years and earn my Bachelor's degree in Pre–Physical Therapy. Since BGSU does not offer a
doctorate program, I would then have to apply to different universities that offer the doctorate
program, such as Ohio University, in hopes that I would get accepted into their doctorate program
("BGSU"). If I went to Toledo then I would, like BGSU, go four years then apply to a university. In
contrast to BGSU, Toledo has a doctorate program, and when looking through applications they
favor students who have done their undergrad at Toledo so there would be a greater chance of being
accepted, and I would not have to switch universities after four years ("Toledo"). Based on these
reasons, I feel that Bowling Green State University is the best college for me to start my Doctorate
in Physical Therapy. The biggest reason for me is cost because I want to come out of college with
the least amount of debt possible. In regards to size and logistics for my major, BGSU and Toledo
match up pretty closely. Since I am choosing Bowling Green, I am going to have to keep my grades

are the impressionism, classicism, and ancient art exhibits. Each exhibit had enjoyable visual works
of art. I saw two paintings and two sculptures that were appealing to me. The paintings are The
Garden of Eden and Athanor. The sculptures were Portrait of a Freedom Fighter and Hanging
Mobile: Horizontal Black With Red Sieve. Issak van Oosten(1613–1661) painted The Garden of
Eden. It is an oil on canvas and has more than 100 exotic animals such as lions, penguins, and
camels. The colors of the painting are consistently dark greens and lighter pastel colors. Colorful
birds and flowers bring a splash of color to the painting against the green canopy. There are diagonal
and vertical lines throughout the painting being made by trees and a main horizontal line from the
horizon. The texture created by the brush strokes are clearly seen in the leaves and bark on the trees.
Seeing the open composition, my eyes wondered to every corner on the canvas and as the animals
drew me in, I noticed them lurking in the shadows as well. A white horse catches my eye amongst
the other animals, it stands on a patch of dirt and white roses are above its head. It is emphasized not
from just the color, but also from its proportion. It's the largest animal in the painting. Studying the
painting more deeply, I noticed a pair of people in the background behind the horse, Adam and Eve.

magazine which was written by Gloria Steinem. Patriarchy can only be the real reason for female
genital mutilation. This is so because in the context of patriarchy, women's bodies are controlled by
men as a means of production.
According to Steinem, patriarchy equally affect the male circumcision. Due to patriarchy system,
mens are asked to submit their sexual parts symbolically and transfer the authority to their sons.
Same–sex Marriage:–
Steinem wrote an essay 'What would it be Like if Women Win' about gay marriages. It was
published on 31st August,1970 in TIME magazine. According to Steinem's vision, "Lesbians and
homosexuals will no longer be denied legally binding marriages, complete with mutual support
agreements and inheritance rights." Again in the early 2000s, she supported same sex marriages.
According to her, same–sex marriage leads to a wide range of relationships, households and
families.

MDM Vs. Ohio Northern University (ONU)
"What will you choose?". That is the million dollar question isn't it? But not every senior has the
million–dollar answer. It is a simple, innocent question but always seems to precede a complicated
response. Many consider this the most difficult decision of their young lives. To decide the career
path for the rest of their lives, much less a college, can nearly fry someone's brain. There are always
a myriad of suggestions from parents, teachers, and friends who all seem to know what is 'best'. This
is the first decision in which the senior gets to make on their own and start making their own path in
the world. Even though all colleges might seem the same before senior year, the pros and cons can
be outstanding. Ohio Northern University is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, the sizes of the two are on opposite sides of the spectrum. ONU is located in Ada, Ohio. It is a
small town of less than 6,000 people ("Ohio Northern University"). Since ONU is in such a small
town, the university is small and private. This university has about 3,000 students ("Ohio Northern
University"). The University of Toledo has a much bigger campus and is located in one of the
biggest cities in Ohio. Usually the crime rate in a bigger city is greater than in a small town. In 2012,
the crime rate in Toledo, Ohio was recorded as 632.5 while the crime rate in Ada was 77.9 ("City–
Data"). The University of Toledo is aware of this crime rate and offers a service in which security
guards will pick up a student and deliver them to their dorm room ("University of Toledo"). This is a
popular service if a student have the habit of late–night studying. Along with the location of the
universities, the distance from home also needs to be considered. The University of Toledo is
roughly one hour away while the Ohio Northern University is about forty minutes away. The
distance is very important to know for commuting or returning home for vacation. Another vital
aspect when evaluating colleges is the

DonT Lose The Zoos
Don't Lose the Zoos
Many people living in the United States have been involved in one way or another with a zoo their
lifetime. For some people it may be going to the zoo with family and others may have visited the
zoo with their school on a field trip. Some zoos have been criticized lately for supposed poor
treatment of animals. This is completely against what zoos are for. Zoos are meant to be a place
where people can be educated about animals. If zoos all close everyone, children and adults, are
losing out on a great opportunity to be educated about animals and to use this information to make a
difference. It is for the well–being and education of the next generation that zoos around the world
are not closed. One thing that is important about zoos is their educational value. Zoos offer the
chance for people of all ages to be educated about animals they might only have the opportunity to
read about in books. Not only do zoos have the chance to educate hundreds of children that travel to
them with their schools, but they also have the chance to educate adults. While children visit zoos
they have the chance to learn about animals that they might never see in the wild and learn about
how to conserve the environments that these animals live in. By educating the young generation
about the animals and the environments that they exist in, it is helping create a better future for our
planet with people who are educated about the Earth and can make decisions to benefit everyone
living on it. Another reason that zoos are valuable is that zoos offer a chance to have animals around
that might not always be around. Most people know and understand that our Earth has been going
through some major changes lately. It is all over the news that the global temperature is rising and
that the ice caps are melting and so on. This is the truth. By having an environment like zoos where
animals can safely live in the environment that they are native to without facing dangers saves these
animals for future generations. Since zoos are spaces that can be controlled by humans the animals
do not face losing their habitats and environments like they would in the wild. Though some may
say that it is not good

The Assumption of the Virgin
The painting "The Assumption of the Virgin" has a mannerism influence. Mannerism was a XVI
century art style influenced by, and at the same time a reaction to, the harmonious ideals of the
Italian High Renaissance. Mannerism is notable for its artificial ( as opposed to naturalistic )
qualities which favor compositional tension and instability rather than the balance and clarity of
earlier Renaissance painting. El Greco's artistic formation in Rome and Venice, reflects the influence
of roman mannerist designs (e.g Michaelangelo's masterfully polished drawings) and that of the
Venetian school of painting with its emphasis in the richness and variety of colors, the use of
pigments to achieve the impression of depth and brightness, ... Show more content on

Sacred religious imagery was justified in the context of this invocation of the Virgin and the saints.
Veneration was not idolatrous because it was referred to the prototype represented in the image.
Among the saints, the Virgin has a primordial place because she is the Mother of God and the the
prime intercessor between Man and Christ. Since the Virgin's role had been denied by the
Protestants, the Catholic Church responded by emphasizing her special status. In the Assumption of
the Virgin", the Virgin is assumed to ascend to Heaven with her body preserved from corruption as a
reward for her faith and good works. Another determining factor in evaluating a painting's context is
patronage and, in XVI century
Spain, this was largely either religious or monarquic. The monarquic alliance with the Catholic faith
was a salient feature of the Spanish court and, in particular, in the kingdom of Philip II.
To understand why El Greco ( which means "the Greek" since he came from Crete ) found his way
to Toledo, Spain in 1577, after studying painting in Venice and Rome, it is essential to realize that
Spain, at the time, offered great opportunities for artists, largely because of the patronage of king
Philip II. The King, in particular, favored painters which followed the Mannerist style. Religious
commissions were the

My Student Leader Interview, A University Of Toledo And...
For my student leader interview, I interviewed Cordaro (Cord) Murry–H. He is a junior here at the
University of Toledo and someone I personally look up for multiple reasons. Cord gives off a vibe
that just says, "Hey! I'm a natural leader!" It makes band flow easier when he gives instructions and
it also makes him much more approachable than the head director. Cord is what I imagine a leader
who is dedicated to their followers looks like.
Cord is highly involved in both the Rocket Marching Band and in his fraternity, Triangle. For the
Rocket Marching Band, Cord was a squad leader in the fall of 2015 and is now the Piccolo section
leader. As a squad leader, Cord ensured that those around him knew the marching drill so that
practice ran smoothly. He also assisted underclassmen with learning traditions about the Rocket
Marching Band. As the piccolo section leader, Cord gives advice and instructions to the help the
piccolo section get through practices and performances. He is also our voice and our connection to
the drum majors and directors. Cord gained his positions of leadership in the Rocket Marching band
through an application and an interview process with the directors. In his fraternity, Triangle, Cord
has assumed many positions throughout his time with the fraternity. Cord began his leadership
journey for Triangle as the treasurer during the spring and summer semesters of 2016. As treasurer,
he collected dues, paid bills, and set up fundraisers for the fraternity.

My Experience In My Summer
Life is full of adventures and new experiences. After all, wisdom grows with both. But enough about
this adventure we call life, this summer was like no other. I had new experiences and did new things.
I did so many things this summer. But if I had to pick the best three highlights of my summer, they
would be going to the carnival with my best friend, walking to McDonalds with my new summer
friends. Last and foremost, school supply shopping. Funny enough one of the things that was the
most fun was school supply shopping.
At the beginning of the summer I went to a carnival with my best friend Tallula. They had a bunch
of rides and games! But Tallula and I focused only on the rides, especially since we had unlimited
passed to all the rides. I think my favorite one was the hammer. The ride spins and swings and/ atthe
same time. Normally I wouldn't do some of these rides, but my best friend convinced me to do some
of them. Although they did not all end with laughter and a smile it was a good experience all around.
During the summer I made some friends on the same street I live on. This was trilling for me
because I had never seen any girls on my street in all of the thirteen years I've lived here. Although
they were both younger than me, we still had fun. Myonna and Sahvanna live down the street from
me and across the street from each other. I know your thinking when is she going to get to the good
part, but hold your horses it's coming up. One day Savannah brought her niece

Research Paper On Gloria Steinem
Gloria Steinem was born on March25, 1934 in Toledo, Ohio. However, the family would move
around quite often for her father's work. During her childhood her mother suffered from a mental
illness leading to the divorce of her mother and father. At a young age Gloria could pick up the anti–
woman beliefs at the time where woman where not wanted in the workforce as her mother tired to
get a job. This was the first spark of her feminist values. Later on in life Gloria attended Smith
College to study government. After graduating Gloria did an array of jobs including becoming the
director of the Independent Research Service which was funded by the CIA. However, her first
actual job which created her image we have of her today is when she was hired by warren
publishing in 1960 to write for Help! Magazine. To begin, for Gloria's first assignment she was
assigned to be a Playboy Bunny at the new York playboy club. During this assignment she wrote an
article titled " A Bunny's Tale" which brought to light how the woman in these clubs were really
being treated. After that article was published Gloria struggled finding assignments from publishers.

"After Black Power, Woman's Liberation" which is what lead Steinem to become a nationally
recognized supporter and a leader of the American Feminist Movement. The feminist movement in
the late 1960's and early 1970's is often called "Second Wave Feminism". This second feminist
movement instead of focusing of women's suffrage focused on issues with inequality, sexuality,

Domenikos Theotokopoulos In Greek Art
Domenikos Theotokopoulos or better known as El Greco, was born in Crete, Greece in 1514. El

Catholicism, he based many of his paintings around Christology and the many religious beliefs that
were prominent at the time.

Adolescents' traditionalism continues to be positively associated with marriage expectations in the

The Importance Of Cathedrals In The Toledo Cathedral
Dating all the way back to the Aqaba Church, possibly the oldest religious–purposed building
constructed in 300 CE, and having ever since been widespread across the globe, religious buildings
are renowned for their religious aspect. It wasn't until the Romanesque period, beginning around
1000 CE, that cathedrals started to appear all over Europe. Over the centuries, cathedrals underwent
minor and major changes to their appearance in accordance to the architectural style of that era.
Many retained the physical characteristics and attributes that are still visible in their structure today
and though it may be the case that many cathedrals erected in Europe have similar or identical
characteristics, many buildings also have distinctable attributes that sets them apart from each other
due to special special circumstances. Three unique cases of this happening would be the Toledo
Cathedral of Spain, the Salisbury Cathedral of England and the Amiens Cathedral of France. While
all three gothic cathedrals were constructed around the same time thus reflecting on their
similarities, the context as to why and how they were constructed gave way to certain differences as
well. Often, cathedrals are built on open grounds that have yet to be claimed for another project, but
from war and conflicts cathedrals could take a much more aggressive approach and actively take
sacred land already belonging to another religion, such is the case for the Toledo Cathedral.
Constructed under the most

The University Of Toledo Levis Leadership Program
The University of Toledo Levis Leadership program prides itself with creating leaders. The program
focuses on giving students with leadership potential the knowledge, skills, and tools to become
leaders not only on campus but in their future careers. For me, the proof of this method of producing
leadership is shown by the upperclassmen in the program. As a freshman, the upperclassmen are my
role models, and I rely on them to set an example of what I can do with my developing leadership.
When I met with my LUT mentor, Emma Diesing, earlier in the semester, she set an incredibly high
standard for leadership. She is so inspiring because she is only a sophomore and has already
achieved so much at the University of Toledo. So when it came to choosing a student leader on
campus to interview, I knew she was absolutely the right person to ask. Each person has their own
leadership style. For Emma, she places communication and hands on opportunities at the top of her
list. It was clear during her interview that she enjoys being involved with other people by leading
activities through instruction. She described being very easy going when leading, only becoming
very deliberate with her leadership if others are not respecting her or the task at hand. For me, on the
other hand, I think I have a bit of a different leadership style. I think I lead more by example than
through instruction. I would rather volunteer and contribute work to my group than communicate. I

Drugs And Drug Addictions
Thousands of families across the United States deal with a child or family member struggling with
drug addiction; Toledo, Ohio is one of the top cities facing a heroin epidemic. Many people try to
avoid the fact that this epidemic is hitting Toledo as hard as it is. Unfortunately, avoiding this
situation will only allow it to grow and more people will suffer from addiction because they feel
there is no way out. Craig Thomas from WTOL 11 reported that "the drug is so powerful that people
will do anything to get money to get drugs. Police say heroin is causing crime that hits innocent
victims." The route from Detroit, Michigan to Toledo, Ohio is famously called Heroin Highway
because of how many drugs are being transported using that route. If no changes are made in the
city, more drug dealers will gain seniority throughout the city and more lives will be taken. The only
solutions to help this problem are to hire more law enforcement, give the drug dealers a longer
sentence when arrested for the act of dispersing a lethal drug and the best solution would be to open
more detox/ treatment centers for the addicts who are ready to receive help. One solution to fend off
the heroin epidemic is to hire more law enforcement. By hiring more police officers it would put
more men and women on the streets observing more suspicious locations or common drug areas in
Toledo. Which would then help arrest more drug dealers in the area. By taking more dealers off the
streets, it makes it

Bronzino's Eleanor Of Toledo
It was interesting to explore through the gallery and see the different paintings by various painters
such as Botticelli, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Raphael to name a few. A lot of these paintings
varied in image as some were just a painting of one person like Santo Da Tito's painting
Machiavelli, whereas other paintings had a lot going on like Vasari's painting Cosimo I becomes
Duke of Florence.
One of my favorite paintings I would have to say is Bronzino's painting Eleanor of Toledo. The
reason that is, is because I really like the details in the painting. A lot of the art during the
Renaissance were rich in drama and emotion. In fact, in this painting there's vivid emotion that is
portrayed in the expressions of Eleanor and the little

College Debt vs The College Experience
Choosing a college is one of the most important decisions in a young adult's life. That is, of course,

conclusion of where I want to attend college. There are plenty of college options, but I have
narrowed it to two colleges I would like to attend: Owens Community College and Bowling Green
State University. Owens and Bowling Green are both great options for me, but I believe I would

Once we have completed the tasks assigned to us, we send our work to J.J. or Jon to review it before

Dreamcatchers Research Paper

  • 1. Dreamcatchers Research Paper GOAL My goal for this project is to plan and make different dreamcatchers. I am not the most creative and crafty person so I am hoping that this project will challenge me. I would like to make a few different styles of dreamcatcher and by the end of this project I would like to have at least three dreamcatchers that will showcase the work I will do. I chose to make dreamcatchers because I am interested in the mythology of dreamcatchers and I love the way that they look. I already had one dreamcatcher at home and thought that if I could make more I can use the dreamcatchers I make instead of going and buying a store bought dreamcatcher. THE PLAN The plan for my project is to make three dreamcatchers. I started with the idea that I would make ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I have started working out how much the project will cost me and where I will buy my materials. I have started to get an idea of what style dream catchers I will make and have decided that I will make my dream catchers have a white lacey theme. I am going to make three dream catchers. 20/07/16 I have changed my mind and am now making three dream catchers; one will be white with a lace dolly in its center and white feathers and ribbon. The second will be mainly yellow and will have some pink beads and feathers. The third will be mainly blue and will have some pink beads and feathers. I have nearly worked out most of my costing and will be buying my materials in the next week. 27/07/16 This week I have bought all my materials for my dreamcatchers. I have done more research on how to make a dreamcatcher and have started making my first dreamcatcher. I am currently about halfway my first dreamcatcher. 2/08/16 This week I have finished my first dreamcatcher and this lesson I am starting my second dreamcatcher. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Society Vs American Society On July 17th 2016, I stood in front of the presidential hall of the University of Toledo gazing at the beauty of the architecture the college building possessed, and I anticipated what the University of Toledo had to teach me through the youth nations program. I along with the hundreds of other students from all over the country, stood there glancing around, with our ambitious eyes, and hopes to get what University of Toledo has to offer. As I walked in and met the students, professors and attended the one week long camp, I started to realize that the University of Toledo and I had the same thing in common, same vision, same goal: to help flourish what already exists. Exactly 6 days later, after the camp was over, I again stood in front of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since I was a small kid, I have always been involved in extra–curricular activities, volunteering activities and sports. I have taken part in many national level and international level leadership competitions and won some of them. I have had a year of experience on becoming the vice– president of the student council in my school. Currently, I am a proud member of the National Honor Society. I believe that committing to the society is the main goal for your life and that is why you work for. My main goal is to get a quality education through the University of Toledo and prove to become a successful student. • 3. The View Of Toledo By El Greco The View of Toledo by El Greco reflects Nick's perspective on the contrasting qualities of the East and West Egg. When describing the East, he seems in awe, using adjectives with strongly positive connotations– "the East excited me the most... I was most keenly aware of its superiority to the ...towns beyond the Ohio" (Fitzgerald 167). After the First World War, Nick and his Lost Generation returned feeling restless and seeking for change. With the excitement and energy the Roaring 20's brought to New York, Nick and many other young members were attracted to the vivacious city. The grandiose expeditions of these young Americans and their determination for materialistic success creates a gap in the socio–economic society, between those who lived ... • 4. Reflection Paper I stood atop a wooden stage found in an auditorium located in the University of Toledo. While standing there, Dan Stark, the Toledo region's current engineer of the year, handed me a scholarship while the sound of applause filled the large building. The framed sheet of paper had a four–digit number written in it in large font: $1,000. To understand the circumstances that led up to this event one must observe the past and how I learned the importance of hard work. It all started a few months ago when the Mathcounts season restarted after its hiatus over the Summer. Each Wednesday night, for the better part of a year, our team met at McCord. During these meetings we discussed strategies to quickly and accurately complete a plethora of types of math problems, spanning from simple algebra to more difficult tasks such as theoretical geometry, applied constructive counting, and advanced probability questions. To compound all this, I had personally been completing tests used in past state competitions. All this was in preparation for the Toledo regional Mathcounts tournament held in February. When the day of the tournament finally arrived, the four–man, McCord varsity team, comprised of Frank Lee, Pravin Jayatissa, Krishna Saraiya, and me, woke up at an outrageously early time. The four of us met up in a common room found in the University of Toledo and sat around a circular table while consuming a few bagels topped with Philadelphia cream cheese which the tournament organizers had provided for us. We talked very little, for each of us was trying to cram in a few more Pythagorean Triples into our minds or attempting to learn some more formulas. After our breakfast was complete, we filed into an auditorium with about two hundred other students all hungry for victory. Inside the auditorium, we found a multitude of other familiar faces which resided in other schools such as Brian Li of Maumee Valley and David Lui of Timberstone. On any other day these individuals would have been allies, but on this day they were enemies. A multitude of mathletes were mingling in a relatively quiet state, when the organizer of the entire tournament, Dan Stark, walked to center–stage. In a deafening voice made even more potent with ... • 6. El Greco: The Burial Of Count Of Orgaz El Greco is a well–known Greek artist whose work during the Spanish Renaissance made him famous. Born 1541 in Crete, El Greco eventually made his way to Venice where he found himself under the instruction of Titian (El Greco). After moving to Toledo, Spain at age thirty–five, he continued his career as an artist until his death. Some of his works include The Holy Trinity, The Assumption of the Virgin, and The Burial of Count of Orgaz (El Greco – The Complete Works). All of these paintings show his unique expressionistic style that led him to fame so many decades after his death. Artist El Greco was commissioned to paint The Assumption of the Virgin for the central panel of the high altar of the church for Santo Domingo el Antiguo in Toledo (The Assumption of the Virgin). This painting was created in honor of the local hero Count Orgaz who donated a large sum of money to the Santo Tome Church. (The Burial of the Count of Orgaz). According to legend, this extraordinary phenomenon occurred because the saints were rewarding the Count for his generosity to the church. Once again, his use of Mannerist style is evident in the extended and slightly distorted figures of the funeral attendees. El Greco's The Burial of the Count of Orgaz still remains at the Santo Tome Church where visitors from around the world still flock to view it. • 10. Painting : The View Of Toledo By El Greco View of Toledo is an artwork by El Greco dated to 1599–1600. The painting's present location is the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is a large oil painting 47 3/4 x 42 3/4 in. El Greco depicts landscape of the city Toledo, where he lived for a long period of his life. The artist faithfully depicted real architecture of Toledo, however he rearranged some buildings, e. g. moving cathedral next to the royal palace. The View of Toledo wasn't meant to be an accurate geographical description, but emblematic view of the city. Though the artwork can be classified as genre painting, the artist could transform steady terrain view into organic landscape. By using carefully organized composition and lively brushstrokes, El Greco masterly conveyed the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The figures are very tiny and barely noticeable. The landscape and the city predominate the composition. The artist uses a dark palette: deep blue for the sky, darker green for the trees, grey for the buildings. Buildings and clouds are touched with highlights. The elements of the landscape are separated by intense shadows. Riverbanks, curves between the hills, contours of the architecture have black outline. Overall somber tone adds depth to the scene and the intensity of the color makes the composition more expressive. Viewer can easily spot the artist's hand. Defined texture of some areas of the painting gives an idea about how El Greco was "molding" the View of Toledo. The trees at the bottom and the sky are painted with long flowing brushstrokes, hills on the left side have fluid–like surface, hills on the horizon are done with short and sharp brushstrokes. We can follow the artist's brush and create painting together with him. This visible movement of artist's hand introduces dynamism to the entire composition. Together intensity of the color and readable artist's hand turn ordinary view into energetic landscape. The painting can be divided into two parts: land at the bottom and sky on top. Noticeably, sky takes almost a half of the painting. It suggests importance of this element for the entire composition. Indeed El Greco's depiction of a heaven is very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Lee, Johnson, & Joyce (2008), Capital budgets assist in deciding how much of each type of investment is necessary, and assist in evaluating available revenues (including loans) to finance those investments. States and most local governments do not use current revenues to pay for their capital projects. For example, the construction of prisons, school building, or public university. These projects are usually financed from bond revenues. The purchasers of the bond lend the funds to the states that are necessary to finance the project. States, in turn, pledge to pay the bondholders the principal of the loan plus a stipulated rate of return according to Gosling (2002). According to Lee, Johnson, & Joyce (2008), In the United States, although some local governments borrow from banks for temporary operating funds, the main source of debt finance is the issuance of bonds. • 12. Understanding the Artwork of Domenikos Theotokopoulos View of Toledo Like many historical artists, it is impossible to understand the artwork of Domenikos Theotokopoulus without understanding his historical context. Theotokopoulus received the nickname El Greco, which means the Greek, during his lifetime, and this nickname reveals a significant detail about his identity as a man, as well as his identity as an artist. This was because his nationality played an important role in his artwork, so that his nationality could almost be described as synonymous with his work during that time. "The Mediterranean world of the sixteenth century– the world of El Greco– was a world in which three civilisations coexisted, interacted and clashed: the Latin West; the Greek Orthodox East; and the civilization of Islam. As a Cretan, and hence a subject of Venice, Domenikos Theotokopoulos, known as El Greco (1541–1614), belonged both to the Greek East and to Latin Christendom. He and his generation lived much of their lives in the shadow of the confrontation between Christendom and Islam." View of Toledo, which is El Greco's only pure landscape, is a wonderful example of this cultural clash that highlighted El Greco's artistry, and it provides a stark example of this confrontation between cultures, as it features a dramatic difference between the earth and the sky in the landscape of Toledo, Spain. El Greco was born in the Greek island of Crete. Although he engaged in other forms of art, El Greco was best known as a painter, particularly a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Struggle In Ma Rainey's Musical Prowess While Ma Rainey's musical prowess makes her position as a success seem bearable, the story of the blacks' struggle is portrayed through the band members. Toledo, an intellectual and the only literate member of the band, mirrors Ma's strong connection to heritage by connecting deeply with his African roots. In spite of this, a major flaw of Toledo's is using his knowledge to demean those in the band not as concerned with the colored man's position in white society. The basis for his blemish is his belief that the black man is the source of his own suffering, and the race as a whole needs to act together, as Toledo says, "Now, what's the colored man gonna do with himself? While it is clear Levee's thinking is mostly straightforward, his plan to deal with the white man is derived from his father's actions after his mother's rape as Levee defends himself, "My daddy wasn't spooked up by the white man. The goal of my personal project was to learn and develop new painting skills while accomplishing something that I have always wanted to do. My original plan was to learn all of the functions and possibilities of the human brain, but I then decided that that was not something I wanted to pursue and that it wasn't something I could personally connect with. The idea of learning to paint a tree sprung when I brainstormed on my past ideas and interests, and I decided that that was something I would like to pursue. I have always been interested in the art of painting and the detail and effort you should out into it. When I was in elementary we took a trip to the Toledo Art Museum and I saw a lot of really detailed paintings and I've always thought it would be cool of I could paint something myself. I have multiple sketches of trees and doodles, but I thought a painting would be way more in depth. I have always just found trees interesting, possibly because they serve purposes ranging from giving us fresh oxygen to being a spot to swing from as a child. The museum has many exhibits, three examples are the impressionism, classicism, and ancient art exhibits. Each exhibit had enjoyable visual works of art. I saw two paintings and two sculptures that were appealing to me. The paintings are The Garden of Eden and Athanor. The sculptures were Portrait of a Freedom Fighter and Hanging Mobile: Horizontal Black With Red Sieve. Issak van Oosten(1613–1661) painted The Garden of Eden. It is an oil on canvas and has more than 100 exotic animals such as lions, penguins, and camels. The colors of the painting are consistently dark greens and lighter pastel colors. Colorful birds and flowers bring a splash of color to the painting against the green canopy. There are diagonal and vertical lines throughout the painting being made by trees and a main horizontal line from the horizon. The texture created by the brush strokes are clearly seen in the leaves and bark on the trees. Seeing the open composition, my eyes wondered to every corner on the canvas and as the animals drew me in, I noticed them lurking in the shadows as well. A white horse catches my eye amongst the other animals, it stands on a patch of dirt and white roses are above its head. It is emphasized not from just the color, but also from its proportion. • 25. DonT Lose The Zoos Don't Lose the Zoos Many people living in the United States have been involved in one way or another with a zoo their lifetime. For some people it may be going to the zoo with family and others may have visited the zoo with their school on a field trip. Some zoos have been criticized lately for supposed poor treatment of animals. This is completely against what zoos are for. Zoos are meant to be a place where people can be educated about animals. If zoos all close everyone, children and adults, are losing out on a great opportunity to be educated about animals and to use this information to make a difference. It is for the well–being and education of the next generation that zoos around the world are not closed. One thing that is important about zoos is their educational value. Zoos offer the chance for people of all ages to be educated about animals they might only have the opportunity to read about in books. Not only do zoos have the chance to educate hundreds of children that travel to them with their schools, but they also have the chance to educate adults. While children visit zoos they have the chance to learn about animals that they might never see in the wild and learn about how to conserve the environments that these animals live in. By educating the young generation about the animals and the environments that they exist in, it is helping create a better future for our planet with people who are educated about the Earth and can make decisions to benefit everyone living on it. Another reason that zoos are valuable is that zoos offer a chance to have animals around that might not always be around. Most people know and understand that our Earth has been going through some major changes lately. It is all over the news that the global temperature is rising and that the ice caps are melting and so on. This is the truth. By having an environment like zoos where animals can safely live in the environment that they are native to without facing dangers saves these animals for future generations. Since zoos are spaces that can be controlled by humans the animals do not face losing their habitats and environments like they would in the wild. Though some may say that it is not good ... Mannerism was a XVI century art style influenced by, and at the same time a reaction to, the harmonious ideals of the Italian High Renaissance. Mannerism is notable for its artificial ( as opposed to naturalistic ) qualities which favor compositional tension and instability rather than the balance and clarity of earlier Renaissance painting. El Greco's artistic formation in Rome and Venice, reflects the influence of roman mannerist designs (e.g Michaelangelo's masterfully polished drawings) and that of the Venetian school of painting with its emphasis in the richness and variety of colors, the use of pigments to achieve the impression of depth and brightness, ... Since the Virgin's role had been denied by the Protestants, the Catholic Church responded by emphasizing her special status. In the Assumption of the Virgin", the Virgin is assumed to ascend to Heaven with her body preserved from corruption as a reward for her faith and good works. Another determining factor in evaluating a painting's context is patronage and, in XVI century Spain, this was largely either religious or monarquic. • 32. The Importance Of Cathedrals In The Toledo Cathedral Dating all the way back to the Aqaba Church, possibly the oldest religious–purposed building constructed in 300 CE, and having ever since been widespread across the globe, religious buildings are renowned for their religious aspect. It wasn't until the Romanesque period, beginning around 1000 CE, that cathedrals started to appear all over Europe. Over the centuries, cathedrals underwent minor and major changes to their appearance in accordance to the architectural style of that era. Many retained the physical characteristics and attributes that are still visible in their structure today and though it may be the case that many cathedrals erected in Europe have similar or identical characteristics, many buildings also have distinctable attributes that sets them apart from each other due to special special circumstances. Three unique cases of this happening would be the Toledo Cathedral of Spain, the Salisbury Cathedral of England and the Amiens Cathedral of France. While all three gothic cathedrals were constructed around the same time thus reflecting on their similarities, the context as to why and how they were constructed gave way to certain differences as well. Often, cathedrals are built on open grounds that have yet to be claimed for another project, but from war and conflicts cathedrals could take a much more aggressive approach and actively take sacred land already belonging to another religion, such is the case for the Toledo Cathedral. • 34. The University Of Toledo Levis Leadership Program The University of Toledo Levis Leadership program prides itself with creating leaders. The program focuses on giving students with leadership potential the knowledge, skills, and tools to become leaders not only on campus but in their future careers. For me, the proof of this method of producing leadership is shown by the upperclassmen in the program. As a freshman, the upperclassmen are my role models, and I rely on them to set an example of what I can do with my developing leadership. When I met with my LUT mentor, Emma Diesing, earlier in the semester, she set an incredibly high standard for leadership. She is so inspiring because she is only a sophomore and has already achieved so much at the University of Toledo. So when it came to choosing a student leader on campus to interview, I knew she was absolutely the right person to ask. Each person has their own leadership style. For Emma, she places communication and hands on opportunities at the top of her list. It was clear during her interview that she enjoys being involved with other people by leading activities through instruction. She described being very easy going when leading, only becoming very deliberate with her leadership if others are not respecting her or the task at hand. For me, on the other hand, I think I have a bit of a different leadership style. I think I lead more by example than through instruction. I would rather volunteer and contribute work to my group than communicate. I tend to be very serious ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Drugs And Drug Addictions Thousands of families across the United States deal with a child or family member struggling with drug addiction; Toledo, Ohio is one of the top cities facing a heroin epidemic. Many people try to avoid the fact that this epidemic is hitting Toledo as hard as it is. Unfortunately, avoiding this situation will only allow it to grow and more people will suffer from addiction because they feel there is no way out. Craig Thomas from WTOL 11 reported that "the drug is so powerful that people will do anything to get money to get drugs. Police say heroin is causing crime that hits innocent victims." The route from Detroit, Michigan to Toledo, Ohio is famously called Heroin Highway because of how many drugs are being transported using that route. If no changes are made in the city, more drug dealers will gain seniority throughout the city and more lives will be taken. The only solutions to help this problem are to hire more law enforcement, give the drug dealers a longer sentence when arrested for the act of dispersing a lethal drug and the best solution would be to open more detox/ treatment centers for the addicts who are ready to receive help. One solution to fend off the heroin epidemic is to hire more law enforcement. By hiring more police officers it would put more men and women on the streets observing more suspicious locations or common drug areas in Toledo. Which would then help arrest more drug dealers in the area. By taking more dealers off the streets, it makes it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Bronzino's Eleanor Of Toledo It was interesting to explore through the gallery and see the different paintings by various painters such as Botticelli, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Raphael to name a few. A lot of these paintings varied in image as some were just a painting of one person like Santo Da Tito's painting Machiavelli, whereas other paintings had a lot going on like Vasari's painting Cosimo I becomes Duke of Florence. One of my favorite paintings I would have to say is Bronzino's painting Eleanor of Toledo. The reason that is, is because I really like the details in the painting. A lot of the art during the Renaissance were rich in drama and emotion. In fact, in this painting there's vivid emotion that is portrayed in the expressions of Eleanor and the little ... • 39. College Debt Vs College Experience College Debt vs The College Experience Choosing a college is one of the most important decisions in a young adult's life. That is, of course, if someone is going to college. For me, I'm using my last year of high school to come to the conclusion of where I want to attend college. There are plenty of college options, but I have narrowed it to two colleges I would like to attend: Owens Community College and Bowling Green State University. Owens and Bowling Green are both great options for me, but I believe I would have a better time and experience if I went to Bowling Green because there are many activities and extracurriculars that I could be in. In all reality, Owens, financially, would be the best option for me. It is way cheaper, and a lot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Owens is a lovely school, but it's not the one for me. Bowling Green will make me happy while not spending way too much. I'm very excited that I have already been accepted to BGSU and I can't wait to attend my first year at college as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Experience Related Information : My Job Title At The... Experience–related information: My job title at the University of Toledo was a Sales/Marketing Assistant. My position supported the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Sales and Marketing Graduate Assistants in creating, developing and implementing marketing and promotional plans for the purpose of maximizing fan awareness, attendance and game atmosphere while increasing revenue for the University of Toledo varsity athletic programs. (I would cite here) Below are my day–to–day tasks: Generate season tickets, individual game tickets, and group ticket sales. Make outbound phone calls daily. Influencing and cultivating student attendance at home athletic events. Assist with special events, game day, in–game promotions, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On a day–to–day basis Jon will make sales calls as well as give the interns sales calls to complete. J.J. reviews and creates marketing plans and has the interns assist him in the process prior to sending the final draft to Heather. Program planning: The weekly meetings that we attend are held for the purpose of discussing what needs to be accomplished during the week. The interns are assigned tasks by J.J., Jon or Heather. Once we have completed the tasks assigned to us, we send our work to J.J. or Jon to review it before it is sent to Heather. For example, if there needs to be a marketing plan created for Baseball, we create it and then we send it to one of them to review and make changes and then they send it to Heather for final review. Evaluation of agency: One of the strengths that the University of Toledo has is that they are a Division One University competing in a well–known conference. I believe that their marketing department is run fairly efficiently in comparison to Bowling Green. I have worked in the athletic department at Bowling Green and Toledo does a better job marketing and promoting their events over social media. Weaknesses in the University of Toledo 's athletic department were noted in communication and time management. In regards to communication, the interns were often given something to do without a due date and without much direction on how to start it or what their expectations are for the project. The ...
