Creating my new image was not an easy task, to say the least. Even though Dr. Blanco
showed us the basics of Photoshop a couple of weeks ago, a few things were left uncertain
simply because I had never used the program before; everything was completely new to me. The
Lynda videos also helped some, but nothing compares to actual hands on experience.
To create my new image, first I cropped the entire picture to get rid of the outside border
that advertised the website that the picture came from. Then, I erased the lightning bolt in the
upper right corner in hopes to replace it with a better looking one that I found online. However, I
am still not completely sure how to go about pasting another image onto an existing one, so I just
eliminated the whole idea of a lightning bolt. I think this was actually a smart decision, because a
bright yellow cartoon lightning bolt would not have really flowed well with the rest of the poster.
After this, I changed the font of the 20 words that were listed in order to make them less blurry
and more clean. I stuck to the color scheme of orange and grey because I wanted the honor the
original image as much as possible since I was basically taking the whole thing and starting from
scratch. After this process was complete, I totally erased the quote at the bottom because it was
honestly so blurry that there was no fixing it without distorting every word. After I erased it, I re-
typed it word for word and arched the words to give the picture something a little bit more fancy.
I wanted the color of these words to be black so they would match the line that I painted myself
at the top of the picture.
