2. Front Cover
My Front Page image manipulation would of
has to have been the hardest image to use on
Photoshop as it was taken from a particular
angle. In order to have my finished product, I
first use the quick selection tool to highlight
the green background a delete it, leaving the
face of my model on the screen alone.
I then used the rubber to erase any extra green
bits that were hidden behind strands of her hair
– this meant that I had to erase some of her
hair and then therefore shape it.
After that I used the spot heeling brush
in order to erase any lumps and bumps on her
face, as well as spots and dark marks. After
this, I rotated the image so it was standing up
straight – this also left a slant in her head to
which I liquefied her hair and rounded it off.
With my finished image, I then added it to the
main page of my Front Cover in which then I
blurred the edges to help it blend in. At the
first try my image turned out badly, therefore I
redid it and this is the finished product.
3. Contents Page – One.
This is one of the images I used on my contents
page. I had taken this image on my iPhone as I
wanted to get the full effect on a fan meeting a real
celebrity.
.
This is my finished image, as you can see the blur
tool has blurred out the background slightly. I also
zoomed in to see the expressions clearly.
Throughout Photoshop I took the
image and brightened it up before
contrasting it to emphasise the
background to the clothes. The
background was somewhat
blurred when I took the picture, in
which it gave me the idea to use
the blur tool to blur out most of the
image apart from the faces of the
two people to display their
emotions and reactions to
meeting each other.
4. Contents Page – Two.
This is my second image I used on the contents page. As
you can see, the colour in the image is also not up to
immaculate quality as it was taken during the concert.
The abstracting lights used in the show affected the
image itself meaning I had to use Photoshop to correct
these mistakes. I used the sponge tool in order to
absorb the entire colour in the image, leaving it black and
white before I took the history brush and coloured
in the artist – Justin Bieber.
After this was complete and he was highlighted in the
black and white image, I then brightened up the whole
image before saving it.
This is my finished image. If you look closely, you
can see how in the image previous, the dancers in
the background are slightly blurry therefore I
thought by making them black and white it would
take away the blurriness and draw all attention to
Justin Bieber as he is the only part of the image
that is not black and white.
5. Double Page Spread.
This is the image I decided to be the Double Page
Spread as I thought it showed a lot about my
model’s body language. At first I had to crop
and rotate my image so it was the right way
up, enabling me to insert it to my Double Page
Spread. Then I changed the colour to black and
white.
From my finished image you can see how I
zoomed in on the picture, allowing the reader to
have a closer look towards her. I thought black
and white was a better colour chose as it
contrasts with the white coloured quote I was
planning to put on top of it.
This image was the easiest image to do as it
didn’t need editing as much as the
others, although I did zoom in and remove any
blemishes I could see before changing the
colour to black and white.
