2. COVERS
I have made lots of progress from the pulmonary task to my
coursework music magazine. Specifically on the front covers,
you can tell I follow a lot more forms and conventions better
because I know a lot more of them and how to use them.
For example, where and how to present the title/ Masthead
ha become a lot more clear to me as it should be at the very
top big and bold and straight from one side right to the
other being the first object for attention. The positioning of
the photo in the centre of the page from the bottom slightly
covering the title with the model giving eye contact. Also,
where the date, price, barcode and cover-lines should go.
Also, I feel I have found out a lot of extra conventions for a
magazine which I didn’t know about before such as the
selling line, sub-heading and alignment.
I feel my colour scheme and boldness, font and sizes are a
lot better on my music magazine as the right factors are
more eye-catching.
From the photographs I took you can see:
• A lot more thought has been put into the style and
clothing for the occasion.
• The software photoshop I used to cut out the photo to
put it on the cover I've obviously practised with and done
a lot better at.
• I used a better camera second time round using the focus
and lighting from the connected photography equipment
which I also learnt new things in such as the equipment
names and how to use and position them.
3. CONTENTS
I have also made progress on my music magazine contents
page compared to my pulmonary task.
It looks much more professional now with the structure and
colour scheme. I have learnt how to connect with the target
audience by putting photos, artists names and colours that
they want to see.
Also, I have discovered a lot of forms and conventions I
didn’t think of before. For example things like a mini photo
of the cover to show it relates and the editors letter which I
didn’t know existed before or what to put in it and to put it
in the contents page until now. Furthermore, I didn’t put a
date, issue number or magazine name on my pulmonary
magazine but found out they should go together which I
improved on and did on my music magazine. Another
convention I didn’t notice before was categories, which I
went on to use with the titles/ names of pages (better story
lines) with a bit more detail underneath each one in smaller
text to gain interest.
Another difference is I put a subscribe advertisement box at
the bottom of my music magazine and you can just
generally tell it’s a lot better and busier with less space and
more interesting busy aspects about it.
Another thing I have learnt and improved on is obviously
the photography, by learning how to use the photography
back drop, camera and lights I created a brighter, more
focused and defined photo with the model dressed up
accordingly and more than one photo.
4. ARTICLE
I didn’t write an article for my pulmonary task and wouldn’t have
known how to go about doing one until now. For my music magazine I
learnt but have challenged forms and conventions. I put two improved
photos on either side, columns and question and answers structured
article with the appropriate language and questions.
