What went well?
I included ‘shot reverse shot’ which meant the different angles were achieved and
the filming flows continuously. Also, I included a variety of different camera angles
such as, point of view and a low angle shot. These helped establish the location, yet
also developed the characters. Furthermore, during the editing process, I featured
several techniques. For example, several transitions (e.g. ‘Film Dissolve’) which made
sure the sound and video flowed. In addition, I could’ve added various non-diegetic
sounds such as a background piece.
Even better if… and what would I do next time?
To improve on my filming skills, next time I will potentially film a large collection of
clips in various positions and locations. This would help creatively to determine
which location is the best. Additionally, I would use a microphone to record the
speech. This will improve the sound quality and would ensure the audio is clear for
the audience to hear. Furthermore, to improve my film, I could’ve made a longer
transcript which would enhance the quantity. Also, during the filming we could’ve
incorporated mise-en-scene and added costumes, props and experimented with
various lighting and colouring to change the atmosphere, this would help make the
film more interesting and exciting. In addition, when filming, I could’ve used a tripod
to help balance out the filming and to reduce unsteady filming which would make
the clips less shaky and seem more professional. Next time, during editing I will
experiment with different effects and transitions. This could boost my final result and
ensure it’s the best it could be.
