is happening. Then followed by a
monologue describing the backstory for
the audience. Game scripts are always
mainly in this style with one or two
paragraphs before the dialogue starts.
CONTENT - Call of Duty is a first-
person shooter video game franchise
published by Activision. Starting out in
2003, it first focused on games set in
World War II, but over time, the series has
seen games set in modern times, the midst
of the Cold War, futuristic worlds, and
outer space. This advanced warfare was
released in 2014 and the game’s story
features a futuristic setting which is set
between 2054 and 2061, follows Jack
Mitchell of the United States Marine
Corps and his involvement with Atlas, a
private military corporation that sells its
services to the highest bidder.
NARRATIVESTRUCTURE – Call of Duty:
Advance Warfare has a typical 3 act structure
within the game. This also fits in with Todorous
(1969) and his theory of equilibrium and
disequilibrium.
TARGET AUDIENCE – The main target
audience is gamers that enjoy first person
shooting games. Or they have previously enjoyed
the other Call of Duty games. Furthermore, this
could range from C1-Don the NRS scale.
Although, the gamers cannot possibly relate to
the characters within the game. But they would
be able to relate to how their character feels and
the fact they admire to be a hero. On the Young
and Rubicam’s 4Cs model, I think the key
audience would be within the struggler category
as they are playing a video game to escape the
everyday and current life.
GENRE – The genre of this game is
dystopian and action. These connotes due to
the guns, the chase and the need to survive by
killing the other players. However, in
addition to the action, there is a zombie game
mode which features your character being
chased by zombies. This connotes horror.
