2. Front Cover
For the front cover of my magazine, I’d like to use one of either
two styles. The first would be a standard photo shoot in a
studio, providing me with excellent lighting facilities and the
ability to edit the background of the image far easier, for
example I could cut the background completely and replace it
with a solid colour.
The second style of image I could use is an image taken at a live
DJ set of my model at work, this would look much more
interesting and have a variety of colours however would leave
me with limited potential to edit or manipulate the final image.
The busy background would also make it difficult to have clear
cover lines, captions and pull-quotes.
3. Contents Page
Images on the contents page I could use include pictures of
editors, images of DJs and any shots I take that relate to the
content or features within the magazine. This part of my
magazine can effectively use any spare shots left over from the
shoot from my front cover, however I would like to use images
of people clubbing and DJs on the contents page like Mixmag
do.
4. Double Page Spread
I’d like to keep my double page spread simple, much like that
of the DJ Mag DPS I researched, I want to have an image of my
model looking into the article or interview but I’d be open to a
variety of different shots and as such I will make sure I look into
taking different styles of images as some of these may be more
suitable for my magazine.
