For my music magazine, I wanted to make it look as professional as possible and by doing so
I decided to take my photos in the photography studio at my school against a white
backdrop using a professional camera and specialised lighting equipment. The lighting I used
was particularly useful for the types of images I was hoping to achieve because the pictures
used on other house music magazines are always very bright and vibrant and I was able to
achieve this effect with the lighting I used as well as my editing skills on Photoshop. The
white backdrop was useful because I can tell that the other magazines used this for their
own photographs and as I was able to make my photographs much like a real magazine’s,
my magazine looked more professional and real.
