2. I used Photoshop to create my music magazine because it is the
most popular photo editing software that professional magazines
use to create their magazines. Photoshop has a wide rang of tools
accessible for their users that complete a variety of tasks needed to
create a magazine and edit my images to make them look to a
professional standard for my magazine. Additionally, Photoshop
uses layers, which is useful as it allows me or organise each area
and image on my magazine separately in a clear and easy way.
Overall Photoshop was excellent to use when creating my music
magazine as it allowed me to advance my skills on the software, as
well as give me the opportunity to try out new tools and learn what
they do.

4. The tools that I used the most on Photo shop were the magic want
tool and the lasso tool to cut away the background of my main
image on each page of my magazine, leaving just the artist left on
the image, I did this by using the magic want tool to select large
areas of an image to delete them, then using the lasso tool to cut
out smaller areas that I may have missed. I also used the paint
bucket tool a lot, this was to fill in the background of my image
easily and cleanly, as well as change the colour of my titles in my
magazine. For example, some of my titles in my magazine are
white, I used the paint bucket tool to colour it that way. Finally, I
used the healing brush tool a lot to get rid of any blemishes on my
artists face is she had any. This was because I wanted my image to
look clean and professional, therefore I used the healing brush tool
to get rid of any mistakes or blemishes in the image.

5. The first draft of my
front cover is very basic
with a couple of articles
but little advanced
editing and simple
fonts have been used
to begin with.
The second draft shows
that I have moved the
feature article to the side,
and used a different font
in my plug and more
images have been used.
The third draft has a
different more
visible plug and pull
quote, as well as
more articles. I have
also edited my
models hair pink to
make my front cover
stand out.
On the fourth draft not
much has changed in
that more text has been
put on the skyline, and
the hair colour has been
darkened to match the
contents page and
double page spread.
On the fifth draft
of my front cover
not much has
changed except
the opacity of the
hair has been
changed and the
hair is lighter.
This is my final
front cover, I did
not change much
except I make the
hair colour of my
artists darker to
match the rest of
the images of my
artists.
Progress
6. Progress
For my contents page there has not been many
drafts made, on the second draft of my contents
page the house style and colour scheme has been
carried on from the front cover onto the contents
page, with the model having pink hair as before,
social media links and a variety of different articles
for my target audience.
On the final draft of my front cover the
opacity of the hair colour has been lowered to
look more natural on the model, additionally,
descriptions have been added onto the other
articles of my magazine so that the reader
than have visuals and a brief description of
some of the articles in the magazine.
On my 1st draft for my Contents Page I have
included the main time, contents, plug,
social media links and a title, the artist does
not have pink hair yet however, like on the
contents page. The same colour scheme
from the front page has been carried onto
the contents page.
7. Progress
On the first draft of my double
page spread the colour
scheme and house style has
been carried out on all of my
magazine, with in interesting
interview, main image, pull
quotes and main title.
On the second draft of my
double page spread the pull
quote has been moved to the
side slightly, as well as the “is
back” part of my title has been
moved to the right to make
room for my stand first, which
gives a brief description of my
feature article.
On my final draft of my double page spread I have
put a metal background in the background of my
double page spread with the opacity lowered, the
stand first has been moved to make it easier to
read, and the pull quote and last part of m interview
has been oved to the next page to balance out the
conventions on both pages and to make room for
8. Prezi- I used Prezi when conducting research in preparation for making my
magazine, and so I used this software to display my research in a unique and
creative manner, it makes putting together research fun with the wide variety
of templates to use which makes my work stand out and look appealing, I can
also transfer my Prezi presentations onto blog posts which makes uploading to
my blog easier to do.
Slide share- I also used Slide share in a similar way as Prezi, to present my
research and findings in a creative and fun manner that is appealing to look at,
however with Slide share I was able to transfer PowerPoint presentations to
this site, and then upload it to a blog post so that it keeps as a PowerPoint. This
saves space on a blog post and makes it easier to go through each slide and see
the information.
Survey Monkey- I used Survey Monkey to create a survey to get my audiences
opinion on my magazine and how I can improve my magazine and upload it to a
professional standard that my audience will enjoy to read.
Microsoft PowerPoint- I used PowerPoint as a basic way to display my research
along with images in a neat and simple manner that is easy to read, I was able
to transfer these PowerPoint slides onto a blog post by converting them to a
JPEG file and uploading them onto a blog post as an image.
Other software I have used.
9. Mac Computers- I used a mac computer to edit my magazine and put it
together, this is because the mac already came with Photoshop
installed, which made access onto the software easy. Also, mac
computers have brilliant screen quality and therefore increase the
quality of my magazine, as well as being able to plug in a phone and get
images off of the phone and onto Photoshop and the computer, which
saves time and makes uploading images easier.
Canon EOS 1200D- This is the type of camera that I used to take some of
my photos if the camera was accessible to hire out. This is because t is a
professional camera that takes photographs with great quality. The
camera also is simple to use and so I got the hang of using it quickly.
Additionally, the camera as different settings which allowed me to take
photos in a variety of ways and conditions, such as day and night. The
camera could also zoom in and out. Allowing me to take some close up
and medium shits. Overall this was a great camera to use.
Samsung Galaxy S6- I used this phone when the camera was not
accessible to rent out, or if I needed to take some last-minute images.
This is because the phone as a decent camera quality with different
mods and filters to make photos with, it was effective to use if I could
not acquire a professional camera.
Other hardware I have used.
