I Am A Dark Cloud
Do you know someone who relives their past every day? Are they always sad, depressed and/or
angry? Or maybe just stressed and rethinking their whole life situation? Maybe something or
someone has completely drained them or brain washed them and they can't continue their lives in a
positive way. A person may have a psychological problem where they may never get over a certain
situation that happened in their life. Every person around the world has a totally different life story.
Often times many people may have the same story but they differ in certain ways. Past situations in
my life have caused me to rethink my life and wonder why I am even here and why this has
happened to me.
Three years ago I was under a dark cloud. My father and his ... Show more content on

Till this day he cannot move on from that situation and he relives the day they divorced every day.
He is sad, depressed and overly stressed. This situation is why I chose the word carpe diem.
Carpe diem is a Latin aphorism, usually translated "seize the day." It was taken from the Roman
poet Horace 's Odes. This definition is a word I would like many people like my father to understand
clearly and take part in. Move on with your life and continue on with the more positive things life
has to offer. We should live in the now and not our past. This word also can be seen in a sense to be
used to urge someone to make the most of the present time and give little thought to the future. Not
saying that it's a problem to think about the future or to plan ahead, but we should also live now so
we can enjoy what's in front of us.
Another prime example of this definition is like a situation I'm going through right now in my
relationship. A few months ago I was at a high school football game. My girlfriend's friends
approached me and asked where she was. While we were talking we joked around about her and
how she acts at times. I slipped up and said, "Fuck her." When I said it everyone was joking around
and playing as always, so I didn't think anything of it. Her friends went back and told her what I said
word by word. She then came back to me to confirm what I said and she blew up in my face. She
was very angry and disappointed in my actions around her

Literary Devices In If You Forget About Me By Pablo Neruda
Love "Love loves to love love." James Joyce. Regardless of geography, gender, sexual orientation,
religion, race, education or economic status humankind desires love, and it's through literature and
art that we find a universal connection provided by the artist or author, and oftentimes advice to help
us cope with our humanity. For instance in "If You Forget About Me", poet Pablo Neruda uses
literary devices such as tone and metaphor to represent how love can be romantic, yet volatile. For
example, Neruda uses a switch in tone from the beginning where the speaker is loving and romantic
describing how, "everything carries me to you"(Neruda, 11). The tone changes in the middle of the
poem, becoming ominous, "Well, now, if little by little you stop loving me I shall stop loving you
little by little." (Neruda, 17–19). These quotes show how love can mean everything and nothing at
the same time, the speaker describes in the first quote how everything in his life revolves around his
lover but if he/she decides to fall out of love he will easily do the same. Neruda also uses a
metaphor, " leave me at the shore of the heart where I have roots, Remember that on that day, at that
hour, I shall lift my arms and my roots will set off to seek another land." ( Neruda, 28–35). I believe
the shore represents home, if the speaker's love leaves him/her stranded they will quickly move on
to find someone new to fill their place. Humans will constantly seek love and relate everything

Never Shall I Forget By Elie Wiesel
"Never Shall I Forget" by Elie Wiesel and "We Remember Them" by Sylvan Kamens & Rabbi Jack
Riemer are poems that have their similarities and differences. In the poem "Never Shall I Forget"
Elie Wiesel describes the environment in the Holocaust and how we should never forget a tragic
memory. In "We Remember Them" Sylvan Kamens & Rabbi Jack Riemer talk about how we should
remember our past. Even though the message in both poems are expressed differently there are some
similarities and differences because in "Never Shall I Forget" Elie Wiesel expresses the poem in a
dark tone because it was a tragic experience, while in "We Remember Them" Sylvan Kamens
expresses the poem in a more light tone because he wants the readers to remember and honor our
achievements in life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both poems want us to remember the past and it is related to the Holocaust. For example in "Never
Shall I Forget" it states, "Never shall I forget those things, even were I condemned to live." In "We
Remember Them" it states, "As long as we live, they too will live; for they are now a part of us as
we remember them." Also, both of them repeat phrases several times to emphasize the author's
message. In "Never Shall I Forget" Elie Wiesel had the phrase "never shall I forget" repeat seven
times and in "We Remember Them" the phrase "we remember them" repeats thirteen times. Both
poems are related to the Holocaust because "Never Shall I Forget" is about the Holocaust and "We

Technology: What Makes UScially Distracted Or Helpful?
Ok, let me start off by saying that a screen free week sounds like a fantastic idea to me. It will give
us more time to do more important things than just typing on an iPad or computer all day. Having
the technology we have today isn't always a good thing. This technology can cause us all types of
problems like getting distracted or even cause forgetfulness and attention problems. It can even
crave us to be multitasking and cause us to get injured. Everyday in school, we always get distracted
and caught off guard by all of the notifications that we get from the apps we have to download to be
able to do our work. Even the "Director of Research Google Inc." agrees that google and the internet
can be very distracting. I find that during school I always get these notifications from apps that are
telling me my grades or even just saying that something has been uploaded on Schoology. It ...

I start to forget what I am about to write or even what i am about to say if i am doing something else
at the same time. In the article "No", the director of research google inc. says that "the new
technology of writing will create forgetfulness in learners' souls because they will not use their
memories." He is pretty much describing me when he says that we won't use our memories, because
it's not that i don't want to, it's that it is sometimes difficult to, like when I am writing I can forget
something that is really important just because i am so focus on what is being typed instead of the
words that i'm typing. In the last article "the toll for children" in the fifth paragraph, the author
basically says that the researchers are worried about the consistent technology and they think that it
is causing attention problems and I very much agree because like i have stated I forget things easily
from being distracted with something

5 hours, 6 minutes, and 6 seconds that you can check; for the important festivals, you can find in the
app because the app have already record every important festival automatically, such as Chinese
New Year, and the app will briefly introduce the festivals in one or two sentences; you can also write
the remindings like someone's birthday etc. The app is very useful for me because I usually forget

As far as I know, in China, Google Calendar is not is not popular at all. Anyway, Google Calendar is
a simple app, everything is simple and clear; we can share the plans to the other people which means
the app is convenient; and you can add as much calendars as you want; you can also change the
color of the calendars if you want, this means the app is individuation. This app might be helpful to
me because most of the teachers in America would like to use it. The app might reduce stress for me
because all the information I looked through are sent by my teachers, it's reliable, I won't remember
something wrong, miss or finish the assignments too early and cause the stress. I would like to
recommend it because the app is used by many American people, and teachers are like to use that to

Megan Elizabeth Malloy Research Paper
After a long and exhausting day of school all I would like to do is go home and rest, but it's quite
difficult to do that if your sister forgets to pick you up. This is exactly what happens to me every
single day. Megan Elizabeth Malloy is the absolute most forgetful person I have ever known. She
forgets everything you tell her. For example, if I told her my wedding date she would forget and not
show up to my wedding. But, despite her forgetfulness in every single situation I still love her
because she is my incredible older sister. Megan Elizabeth Malloy reflects the most likely to forget
their lunch award in all situations because she forgets to pick me up from school, she always forgets
my birthdays, and she even forgot her own dance in

Definition Of Forgiveness
Forgiveness... Forgiving... What do they mean? Does it mean to forgive but not forget? Does it mean
to forgive the aggressor so you're no longer a victim? Depending on what you think the powerful
word of forgiving means, you may forgive the wrong person and only hurt yourself. I believe that
you should forgive the aggressor, the despicable individual that did whatever it is that makes you
suffer physically or mentally. But not forget the outrage of hell that person has put you through in
the past. Personally I have yet, but hope never to endure a terrible situation and then for someone to
ask me for my forgiveness. Yes there are some small itty–bitty times in my past I had to forgive but
not forget what someone has previously done to me. What

Reflection Paper
Have you ever had to deal with a serious issue in your life? Maybe you have accomplished
something that was challenging? Have these events ever made you realize something about
yourself? For the most part, everyone has dealt with something that made them find something
about themselves. The person could have won a sporting event or they could have lost a loved one.
For instance, one thing that has made me realize something about myself was when my grandmother
died. My grandmother, just like Maria Gatta, passed away due to cancer. She was a very important
aspect of my life and when she passed it made me realize a few things about my character and life.
It showed me that it is more important to remember than to forget and that I can bounce back from
problems. Overall, everyone learns a lesson from all events in life, good, or bad. At first, when I lost
my grandmother I was heartbroken. She was always there for me, through thin and thick. From the
day I was born she was right by my side, taking me to the beach, or teaching me how to play sports.
When I first learned of her death I was devastated. I thought that there was no point and I was so
mad at God for taking her away from not just me, but all of my young cousins and new family
members to come. They would have never met her, which just made me more sad. They would
never know what a "nana story" was, or ever truly understand her one of a kind personality. It
crushed me to know that they would not know and it killed me that

Sharda Steel
Date and Place of Birth
Pablo Neruda was Born Ricardo Eliecer Neftali Reyes in Parral, Chile on July the 12th 1904. His
father was a railroad worker while his mother was a teacher who passed shortly after his birth.
Neruda had two half siblings when growing up.
Education
He attended Temuco Boy's School, where he published his first poems at the age of 13 under the
name Pablo Neruda to the daily La Mañana. This was because Neruda wished to hide his poetry
from his father who was not in agreement with Neruda's dream. Pablo Neruda choose this
pseudonym as Jan Neruda (1834–1891) had inspired the young poet. Once Neruda graduated at the

Neruda seems a very passionate person as displayed in the two poems analysed; 'If you forget me"
and 'Your laughter'.
What I think of this Person
I believe that Pablo Neruda led an extraordinary life. Neruda would've had an interesting life,
experiencing different ways of life through being a consul and writing poetry to share his
experiences. Although I cannot relate to Pablo Neruda's poetry, it still speaks loudly and conveys a
lot of emotion.
Pablo Neruda is a person who would be easily liked as he was an open soul and authored gentle
poetry. POETRY analysis
'If you forget me' by Pablo Neruda is a poem that has a peaceful and calming aura. My initial
thought when the thought was one of confusion as the poem didn't make complete sense.
'If you forget me' is based upon the subject of forgetting. This poem was composed to demonstrate
that if you've forgotten someone, don't worry for they've already forgotten you. Although, if you find
yourself thinking of them often, then so are they. If thinking of them is a routine, then you should
find them. Neruda has conveyed this message through stanzas four and six.
"If suddenly you forget me do not look for me, for I shall already have forgotten you."
"if each day, each hour, you feel that you are destined for me with implacable sweetness, if each day
a flower climbs up to your lips to seek me, ah my love, ah my own, in me all that fire is repeated,

I Want To Forget Short Story
There is much about this cinderblock building I want to forget if I ever make it out. I want to forget
how they shoved additional consciousnesses into my head, I want to forget how they've stripped me
of my name and given me a number instead. There is much I want to forget about this place, but
there is one person, one child I want to need to remember.
Rebecca was her name, she stood at 37 inches tall, 93.98 centimetres, the size of a four–year–old.
Her hair was a curly gold, and her eyes a beautiful honey. According to her file, she weighed 25
pounds, almost eight pounds below healthy. I tried to keep her fed, but she accepted minimal, more
concerned about my food intake. She always had a stuffed giraffe tucked under her arm and a silver
necklace clasped around her neck. She was always smiling, even when she has to fight. She'd give
her giraffe a kiss on the head, promise she'd be back, and hand him to me before turning to follow
the scientist to prepare for battle. Afterward, she'd call my name and run to me, where I'd scoop her
up and give her giraffe back. She always had troubled dreams the night after a fight, so she slept in
my cell while I kept watching. Nobody stopped her.
I refuse to forget the first day we met when I first saw her skittering away from the larger animals.
At first, I figured I'd been wrong, that the scientists, as cruel as they were, would never select a child
so undersized. But there she was again, this time being thrust against the wall after progressing too
close to a table. I remember with a twinge of compunction how I hadn't done anything at first, just
followed, an unnoticed spectator. I probably wouldn't have done anything if Dani hadn't emerged
and taken control of the situation. She's the one who caused the buffer of air that tenderly nudged
the small child in our direction.
I remember she had taken a while to find us, but once she had, she gave a smile that lit up the room.
Dani beamed back and I felt my cheeks grow tight, for it had been a while since any of us had
reason to smile. Once with us, she amazed even kind–hearted Dani by sitting on our lap and leaning
back against us, trusting us to keep her safe. It had been another reminder that she was still a child,

Detergination In Peter Cherche's 'Where Is She?'
In the poem, "Where is She?" by Peter Cherches, the speaker focuses on a man who has a feeling of
loss after an important woman in his life goes missing. After the woman goes missing, the man
begins to think about her so much, that over time, he begins to forget her. The poem describes the
man's loneliness through his memory and imaginations of this woman while he is trying to hold onto
every last memory he has of her. Peter Cherches uses words describing images in a man's
imagination to show the loneliness he was experiencing without the woman that he believes he
cannot live without, but as he keeps forgetting more about this woman, he begins to live without her
within his imagination.
Throughout the poem, the speaker used the man's loneliness to describe the feeling of loss. The title
of the poem, "Where is She?", clearly shows the man's need for this woman to come back into his
life so he can move on with her. The man does not want to have to think about what it would be like
if she is still in his life, he would rather have her with him in that moment of loneliness instead of
experiencing it alone and be able to live their lives together, not separately. "It got to the point where
my imaginings no longer included her." (Line 6–7) Once the woman disappears this causes the man
to come to a conclusion that she may be gone forever, and makes him overthink the question of her
return and eventually exclude her from his future through his strong imagination. As the

Recently I read a poem titled,"Musee des Beaux Arts," by W.H Auden. In this poem he ties in three
messages about, how people tend to look away when bad things happen, suffering is surrounded by
the hustle and bustle of life, and when bad things happen others never forget. In the poem, Musee
des Beaux Arts" the first message is, when bad things happen, people tend to look the other way. For
example, even in the most beautiful places suffering happens. You might not notice it if you are

Comparing Ode To The Artichoke And If You Forget Me
"Ode to the Artichoke" and "If You Forget Me," two poems by Pablo Neruda, can be considered
similar and different when juxtaposed to one another. "Ode to the Artichoke" transforms an
artichoke into a warrior through the analysis of its appearance. "If You Forget Me", on the other
hand, depicts Pablo Neruda's struggle as he leaves his home, the nation of Chile. When comparing
and contrasting the two poems, the structures, meanings, and poetic devices found within can be
seen as having both differences and similarities. In "Ode to the Artichoke", Neruda uses
personification as he gives human qualities and emotions to an artichoke. In doing so, he uses the
concept of a warrior as a metaphor, and imagery, to describe the artichoke's manifestation. ... Show

When concerned with structure, both poems are written in the form of unequal stanzas. As each
poem begins, Neruda slowly eases the readers into the main theme. In "Ode to the Artichoke," for
example, Neruda gradually introduces the theme of fate and rebellion through the simple metaphor
comparing the artichoke with that of a warrior. However, in "If You Forget Me," the decorative
explanation of the Neruda's homeland is a tool to slowly introduce his exile from Chile. The similar
structure can be further understood by analyzing the shift in tone that takes place after the first big
stanza of each poem. In addition to structure, both "Ode to the Artichoke" and "If You Forget Me,"
use tone, specific diction, and imagery as poetic devices to enhance the meaning of the poems.
Likewise, the poems both share a similar meaning since they related to the historical time period in
which Neruda had life struggles. Opposing the government and forced to leave Chile, Neruda was
inspired to write these two

Why Actions Speak Louder Than Words
My Dad once told me "Apologizing to someone may not do anything to that person; you have to
apologize physically to help them out because speaking to him will just go in through one ear and
out the other." Personally, I suppose that actions speak louder than words due to experiences in my
life. In particular, one day I was in a soccer game, and I was the goalkeeper. Meanwhile, the game
proceeded and then there was a free kick; the opponent was approaching the ball to shoot it at me,
but he stared at me like a raging lion, and he ripped through the ball with all his force, and the ball

It takes a village to raise a child, and that is the atmosphere that I was raised in. My grandparents'
house is open to anyone who needs a home. As a child I lived with my mom, cousins, aunts, uncles,
great uncle, and great grandma. I was always entertained and learning. My family taught me how to
write in cursive and how to count, but they also taught me life lessons that I will never forget. My
great uncle, Paul, taught me righty tighty, lefty loosey and how to tell a good joke. Uncle Paul also
taught me that drowning your sorrows with prescription pills is just as lethal as any illegal drug. My
great grandma, Bobby, taught me the importance of telling others that I love them. Every night
before I went to sleep, she would run her fingers through my hair and down my back. Bobby would
tell me everything that she loved about me. She also taught me the importance of pain and that I
need to be honest with others, even when it hurts. My great grandma spent decades burrowing guilt

degrees of affection. It begins with a description of all the things that remind him of his love. It then
shifts to the repercussions of a forgotten love, finally finishing with two lovers mutually committed
to each other. Throughout, Neruda uses personification, metaphors, repetition, juxtaposition,
periodic sentences, and imagery to express the dependence of a relationship on the fervor of the
attachment one party feels towards the other, leading to the interpretation that one must reciprocate
the sentiments felt towards themselves to get the most out of life.
In the first two stanzas of the poem Neruda uses "you" and "yours" not only to ... Show more

There is also a sense of betrayal by his lover in this section. The word "decide" in the sequence of
his forsaking, emphasizes the perspective that his lover marooned him, further highlighted by the
fact that he is left "at the shore". This shore is presumably an island, which reinforces his newfound
aloneness. Additionally, "you" and "me" serve to make it a very personal jilting. It is not just him be
forgotten and left, but him being forgotten and left by his love.
These stanzas also illustrate the importance of time. Neruda states "if little by little you stop loving
me/ I shall stop loving you little by little." The repetition is used to show that his feelings will mirror
the one he loves. The use of a periodic sentence creates suspense and accents the gravity of his
lovers actions. The next stanza uses "suddenly" and "already" similarly. When taken together these
two stanzas show the mirroring of his feelings in an abrupt cessation as well as a gradual distancing.
If they don't love him, he doesn't love them, and thus the relationship ends. Neruda uses "on that
day,/ at that hour," to make it clear that the exact moment he is forgotten, his lover will be forgotten
as well, assenting that when in love, the feelings felt toward oneself should be reciprocated, for if
the attachment can be neglected, the relationship isn't what it should be. In the final stanza of the
poem "each day,/ each hour"

Letter F Stand For Research Paper
Throughout the day I was asked, "What does the letter F stand for?" I would explain that "F" stands
for forgetful because I am a extremely forgetful person. The word I choose was "forgetful" because I
always forget to do things. Not only do I forget little, unimportant things, but I also forget tasks such
as signing up for the ACT, bringing money to places I need it, doing my homework, and cleaning
my room. Another thing I forget to do is to pay attention in class, which usually leads to me
daydreaming too much. Wearing the letter had no effect on how I felt. Many people asked me what
the letter stood for and I would tell them "forgetful," and most people just responded "okay." Telling
people what my letter meant to me was awkward because

A Place I Want To Forget Essay
There is much about this place I want to forget if I ever make it out. I want to forget how they forced
additional consciousnesses into my head. I want to forget how they've stripped me of my name and
given me a number instead. There is much I want to forget about this place, but there is one thing,
one person I want to have to remember. Her name was Rebecca, she stood at 37 inches tall. 93.98
centimetres. She was the size of a four–year–old. Her hair was a curly golden blonde, and her eyes a
beautiful honey. According to her file, she weighed 25 pounds. Her preferred weight is 35.2 pounds.
I tried to keep her fed, but she accepted minimal, saying I needed to look after myself. She always
had a stuffed giraffe tucked under her arm and a silver necklace clasped around her neck. She was
always smiling, even when she has to fight. She'd give her giraffe a kiss on the head, promise she'd
be back, and hand him to me before turning to follow the scientist to prepare for battle. Afterward,
she'd call my name and run to me, where I'd scoop her up and give her giraffe back. She always had
nightmares the night after a fight, so she slept in my cell while I kept watching. Nobody stopped her.
I don't want to forget the first day we met when I first saw her skittering away from the larger brutes.
At first, I thought I'd been wrong, that the scientists, as cruel as they were, would never select a
child so small. But there she was again, this time being thrust against the wall

Eulogy For Mother
Words cannot adequately convey my deepest words of gratitude and appreciation. My heart is still
over joyed with the kindness you extended to both my mother and myself. During our journey back
to Georgia, all I heard were words of joy from my mother. She exclaimed, to all those she
encountered, "I had the best birthday ever." To hear those words Elder, pierce the ever being of my
soul. To know, I played a role in bringing this amount of joy to mother fills my heart with an
overwhelming happiness and to know it would never have been possible without you. Your
kindness, overwhelmed me. Your generosity, left me an aww. Your faithfulness inspired me. Elder I
am not ashamed to admit, you left a lasting impression on me. I can only aspire

Personal Narrative: My Trip To Disney Dreamer For Lake...
The experience I would pay $1,000,000 just to relive was my trip to Disney after winning 2015
Disney Dreamer and Doer for Lake Howell High School. This experience was a lot of fun for me
because I really had a good day. Spending time with my uncle, mother and cousin made my Disney
trip absolutely amazing. Everyone that came with me made my trip to Disney memorable. My
mother came very organized and aware of everything to make sure that we were going to do as
much as we could in the time we planned on staying at Disney. My uncle was also a great help since
he wanted to get me souvenirs to make sure the trip was something I would never forget since it had
only been the second time at Disney ever in my life. He also is a very energetic person

Lennie Character Analysis
In the story Of Mice and Men, Steinbeck shows the protagonist of the story Lennie, as a sympathetic
character. In the book, Lennie, a big strong guy and his friend George are on a journey away from
their home town Weed, to a job on a ranch. Lennie is not the sharpest knife in the drawer and makes
many mistakes. George and Lennie already had to leave their town from a mistake that Lennie
made, holding on to a girls soft dress because he liked the feel of it. On the ranch, the boys are
hoping to make just enough money to buy their own piece of land and live off of it. But after Lennie
accidentally murdered his bosses wife from touching her hair because it was soft, he ran away. He
didn't know how to handle his strength abilities. Everyone on the ranch wanted to kill him but
George didn't so George killed him to protect Lennie. Since Lennie is clueless, forgetful, and has
remorse for his actions, he has trouble getting his way through life and makes many mistakes on
accident. Not understanding a lot of things makes Lennie seem like an innocent and dumb–witted
character.
Lennie is clueless because he doesn't understand or comprehend anything that is being said to him.
He will answer with a completely different unrelated answer. He will say things that he knows about
or what he is thinking. "Lennie stroked the pup back and forth. "We gonna have a little place– an
rabbit's." Lennie explained. She went quickly on with her story before she could be interrupted."

Imagery In Elie Wiesel's Night
Elie Wiesel writes a powerful and moving novel titled "Night" detailing his journey throughout what
we now know today as the Holocaust while also bringing in elements of symbolism and imagery to
strengthen the novel and deliver a story that is not only incredible but impactful as well. Throughout
the book Elie slowly begins to lose his faith, his father, and his dignity which is shown through the
symbol of night. "We were given no food. We lived on snow; it took place of the bread. The days
were like nights, and the nights left the dregs of their darkness in our souls"(Wiesel 94)." In this
quote Elie states what the nights would bring to the Jews which is darkness. This reveals his feelings
of being alone with no God and the dark of night that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Elie arrives at the camps, the author begins to use the corpse as a symbol of a living person
who is dead inside. This is how Elie begins to see himself and others as, the living dead. "From the
depths of the mirror, a corpse gazed back at me. The look in his eyes, as they stared into mine, has
never left me (Wiesel 109)." When Elie looks into the mirror he can not recognize what he has
become. He thinks of himself as one of the others who died like his family or the millions of others
slaughtered right before his eyes. He essentially becomes a useless body that works on the outside
but is undoubtedly damaged on the inside. Wiesel also brings the story to life with imagery that
stimulates all of the senses. He illustrates the horror of the crematories with vivid words that make
the reader feel the sympathy he feels."Never shall I forget that smoke. Never shall I forget the faces
of the children whose bodies I saw transformed into smoke under a silent sky. Never shall I forget
the flames that consumed my faith forever. Never shall I forget the nocturnal silence that deprived
me for all eternity of the desire to live.

In my ministry as a hospital chaplain, I have grappled with a theology that would be applicable and
practical for those who are in a state of disorientation struggling to find meaning in the face of grief

in the wilderness. This experience of the wilderness evoke those occasions in life when the bottom

I too was shaped by God through my own wilderness experiences and as much as I want to praise
God for where I am today, I want to be able to hang on to the anger that I felt as I suffered in the
wilderness a big chunk of my life. My anger is what keeps me grounded in ministering to my
patients, families, and staff.
Every day I meet people who are living in the wilderness...a mom whose son will go brain dead by
the morning after a self–inflicted gunshot wound to the head; a spouse of twenty years who has been
diagnosed with a brain tumor; a father who has had a massive stroke; a man who has been shot by
his fiancé while their two–year old son watched and then took her own life; the loved ones of a wife
and mother who they have attempted to revive for the tenth time and the list goes on. Being
hospitalized is a scary thing for the majority of patients and their families and this metaphor of
wilderness is not just a place; it is by far something more. It is in this place of wilderness, people are
alienated from family, friends, and familiar surroundings. It is in this place their power is taken
away; someone else is in charge of their life and they are feeling vulnerable, scared, lonely, and
discouraged. Yes when one is thrown into the wilderness, it can conjure up the picture of being in a

As the humans totally forget their traits to love another guy

I feel pity for the boy who chopped my wings

Afraid of me fly away from his stage
He loves me as much as his cat hates me
He feeds me the food I never ate before
Ooh ooh Ooh Ooh aah Aah Aah Aah

As the humans totally forget their traits to love another guy
The pet owners assume they favor us

Feeding the food cooked a few years ago.

Pablo Neruda And Cummings's Love Sonnet 17 By E. E. Cummings
Introduction
Pablo Neruda and Edward Estlin (E.E) Cummings are poets from the 20th century who have been
praised by many literary critics because of their prestigious works in poetry. For this extended essay,
I have decided to compare and contrast the poems, which have interested me, due to their differing
perspectives and ideas on the subject on love and also the uniqueness in their respective poems.
I have chosen 'If You Forget Me' and 'Love Sonnet 17' by Pablo Neruda and [I carry your heart with
me(I carry it in] and [love is more thicker than forget] by E.E Cummings. These poems have drawn
my attention in particular because of the different poetic devices Neruda and Cummings have
carefully utilized to present the theme of love in their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is also about the strong bond of unity between him and his lover. Everything he seems to do and
feel is connected to her which is suggested by the title and opening lines of the poems as he carries
his lover's heart along with him wherever he may go and that no distance could separate or alter
their love. This is seen by the quote, '(anywhere / I go you go,my dear;and whatever is done by only
me is your doing,my darling)' In addition, it seems to be that he does not believe in 'fate' because his
love for her is so profound that he does not require anything else from the world (i.e – 'the moon and
the sun') which proves this strong feeling he has for his lover. Lastly, the 'tree called life' which
contains the roots and the buds are essential because these are vital for the relationship to remain
strong which is compared to a strong tree that would grow beyond all hopes and aspirations and
reach the sky. This shows us the depth of their love and how their foundation has been formed.

scared at the beginning of the year, but now, I am more comfortable at this school. From re–dos to
essays, I have learned a lot this year from my English class. There are many things that I will forget,
however, there are also memories and actions I will keep. Lastly, there is advice that I will provide
for the upcoming sophomores. Throughout this year, I have learned to work more diligently with my
school work. In this class, I learned the many topics and lessons Ms.Cranford provided for me.
Putting aside educational lessons, this class taught me to communicate better with people I don't

Saint Mary's Institute means alot to me. S.M.I. has taught me and has continued to teach me about
myself. S.M.I. has taught me to treat myself with respect, and not only myself, but I've been taught
to treat others with respect to. Instead of laughing at someone who fell or dropped their books, we
are taught to help them back up. I learned at S.M.I. to help others back up if they have fallen. I've
been told to treat others how I would want to be treated. S.M.I. is full of people that are all close to

Throughout the years, the teachers have taught me that if I put my mind to something then I can do

Personal Narrative-An Important Moment At Goddard Middle...
An Important Moment I could see the rain pouring down onto the track. It was the fall of my fourth
grade school year. I was at Goddard Middle School for my fourth grade cross country meet. My
fourth grade cross country race shaped me to be the person I am today by showing me the feeling of
winning and it taught me sportsmanship. The rain, a monster, had been going on all day. People
waited patiently around the track to hear if the meet would be cancelled. The rain was starting to
form puddles of mud all over the wimpy track. The rain seemed like it would never end.
Finally, the rain cleared and the meet was able to start. I was standing at the starting line of the mile–

Exhaustion was getting to me and made me want to give up. My legs felt like jelly, and I did not
think I could keep going. Hearing the crowd cheer gave me the courage to finish the race. I could
see someone getting really close behind me, so with all of my strength left, I took off on a sprint.
As I sprinted, I pulled ahead of all of my competitors. I could see the finish line getting close, and
the cheering from the stands was louder than that at a football game. The finish line, welcoming and
grand, stood just a few hundred feet away. Then, after what felt like a hundred years, I got to the
finish line.
Happiness overcame me as I broke the finish line tape. I stopped for a moment to enjoy my big win.
The amazing feeling of winning filled me with pride. People were crowding around me to say
congratulations. That was the best moment of my life.
Cheering and yelling, I could hear my mom and little sister from the stands. Then, the medals were
given out. When I got my medal, I was so excited because of all of the hard work I had put into that
one race. After the medals were given out, my little sister ran over to me and embraced me.

Religion In Night By Elie Wiesel
As days went by in the concentration camp, many begin to lose their faith in religion just like Elie.
The book, Night is written by Elie Wiesel, a winner of the Nobel Peace prize. In the book Night,
Elie is the main character who is very religious at first. It begins with his family and him traveling to
Auschwitz which his little sister and mother die. With only his father and him, they went through
many hardships and moving from camp to camp. Unfortunately, Elie father did not survive the
Holocaust but Elie did. By the end of the story, Elie did entirely lose his faith in God because he did
not celebrate the important holidays, questioned God and his justice, and tries to forget his
existence.
One way that shows Elie loss of faith in religion is that he refuse to participate and enjoy the
religious holidays. Once a religious Jewish who study the Kabbalah, Elie did not enjoy Rosh
Hashana and pray like the other Jews. He also decided not to fast during Yom Kippur. "And then,
there was no longer any reason for me to fast. I no longer accepted God's silence. As I swallowed
my ration of soup. I turned that act into a symbol of rebellion, of protest against him"(Wiesel, 69).
Wiesel uses words such as silence, rebellion, and protests against him to bring out the anger in Elie's
voice and feeling. He realizes that faith does not help you survive. Elie's refusal to participate in
these holidays indicates the beginning process of losing his faith.
Another way that shows him losing

Tell Me, Forget Me Not By Hannah Neale
Forget Me, Forget Me Not By Hannah Neale Foreword Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is a form of
Dementia. Dementia is a depletion of mental ability caused by brain cells dying. However, many
factors have been linked to the development of AD, and there is not yet a cure and the main cause is
unknown. Most people develop AD over the age of 65. Alois Alzheimer first found AD in Germany
during 1901. Although not much attention was paid to the disease at the time, AD is becoming an
increasing worry in our society due to the ageing population. Introduction For this Assignment, my
intention is to examine a range of current treatments used for AD and to compare their effectiveness
in terms of improving the quality of life for the patient. This has a significant effect on
pharmacologists in terms of determining the best treatments to help narrow down the most suitable
drug for treating AD. Antipsychotics Neuroleptics are the typical antipsychotics used for treating AD
and other disorders. Neuroleptics work by blocking dopamine receptors found in the mesolimbic
stratal mesocortical systems of the brain. In a controlled study, 59% of patients on neuroleptics and
41% of those taking the placebo saw a decrease in mental distress. This suggests that there was a
minor improvement in the patients quality of life, due to treatment with these drugs. (Juillerat
Mahwah, A–C. et al, 2003) However, the level of improvement of the patients AD varied in the
study, which was not taken

I Am A Dark Cloud

  • 1. I Am A Dark Cloud Do you know someone who relives their past every day? Are they always sad, depressed and/or angry? Or maybe just stressed and rethinking their whole life situation? Maybe something or someone has completely drained them or brain washed them and they can't continue their lives in a positive way. A person may have a psychological problem where they may never get over a certain situation that happened in their life. Every person around the world has a totally different life story. Often times many people may have the same story but they differ in certain ways. Past situations in my life have caused me to rethink my life and wonder why I am even here and why this has happened to me. Three years ago I was under a dark cloud. My father and his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Till this day he cannot move on from that situation and he relives the day they divorced every day. He is sad, depressed and overly stressed. This situation is why I chose the word carpe diem. Carpe diem is a Latin aphorism, usually translated "seize the day." It was taken from the Roman poet Horace 's Odes. This definition is a word I would like many people like my father to understand clearly and take part in. Move on with your life and continue on with the more positive things life has to offer. We should live in the now and not our past. This word also can be seen in a sense to be used to urge someone to make the most of the present time and give little thought to the future. Not saying that it's a problem to think about the future or to plan ahead, but we should also live now so we can enjoy what's in front of us. Another prime example of this definition is like a situation I'm going through right now in my relationship. A few months ago I was at a high school football game. My girlfriend's friends approached me and asked where she was. While we were talking we joked around about her and how she acts at times. I slipped up and said, "Fuck her." When I said it everyone was joking around and playing as always, so I didn't think anything of it. Her friends went back and told her what I said word by word. She then came back to me to confirm what I said and she blew up in my face. She was very angry and disappointed in my actions around her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Literary Devices In If You Forget About Me By Pablo Neruda Love "Love loves to love love." James Joyce. Regardless of geography, gender, sexual orientation, religion, race, education or economic status humankind desires love, and it's through literature and art that we find a universal connection provided by the artist or author, and oftentimes advice to help us cope with our humanity. For instance in "If You Forget About Me", poet Pablo Neruda uses literary devices such as tone and metaphor to represent how love can be romantic, yet volatile. For example, Neruda uses a switch in tone from the beginning where the speaker is loving and romantic describing how, "everything carries me to you"(Neruda, 11). The tone changes in the middle of the poem, becoming ominous, "Well, now, if little by little you stop loving me I shall stop loving you little by little." (Neruda, 17–19). These quotes show how love can mean everything and nothing at the same time, the speaker describes in the first quote how everything in his life revolves around his lover but if he/she decides to fall out of love he will easily do the same. Neruda also uses a metaphor, " leave me at the shore of the heart where I have roots, Remember that on that day, at that hour, I shall lift my arms and my roots will set off to seek another land." ( Neruda, 28–35). I believe the shore represents home, if the speaker's love leaves him/her stranded they will quickly move on to find someone new to fill their place. Humans will constantly seek love and relate everything ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Never Shall I Forget By Elie Wiesel "Never Shall I Forget" by Elie Wiesel and "We Remember Them" by Sylvan Kamens & Rabbi Jack Riemer are poems that have their similarities and differences. In the poem "Never Shall I Forget" Elie Wiesel describes the environment in the Holocaust and how we should never forget a tragic memory. In "We Remember Them" Sylvan Kamens & Rabbi Jack Riemer talk about how we should remember our past. Even though the message in both poems are expressed differently there are some similarities and differences because in "Never Shall I Forget" Elie Wiesel expresses the poem in a dark tone because it was a tragic experience, while in "We Remember Them" Sylvan Kamens expresses the poem in a more light tone because he wants the readers to remember and honor our achievements in life. ... • 11. Technology: What Makes UScially Distracted Or Helpful? Ok, let me start off by saying that a screen free week sounds like a fantastic idea to me. It will give us more time to do more important things than just typing on an iPad or computer all day. Having the technology we have today isn't always a good thing. This technology can cause us all types of problems like getting distracted or even cause forgetfulness and attention problems. It can even crave us to be multitasking and cause us to get injured. Everyday in school, we always get distracted and caught off guard by all of the notifications that we get from the apps we have to download to be able to do our work. Even the "Director of Research Google Inc." agrees that google and the internet can be very distracting. In the article "No", the director of research google inc. says that "the new technology of writing will create forgetfulness in learners' souls because they will not use their memories." He is pretty much describing me when he says that we won't use our memories, because it's not that i don't want to, it's that it is sometimes difficult to, like when I am writing I can forget something that is really important just because i am so focus on what is being typed instead of the words that i'm typing. Megan Elizabeth Malloy Research Paper After a long and exhausting day of school all I would like to do is go home and rest, but it's quite difficult to do that if your sister forgets to pick you up. This is exactly what happens to me every single day. Megan Elizabeth Malloy is the absolute most forgetful person I have ever known. She forgets everything you tell her. For example, if I told her my wedding date she would forget and not show up to my wedding. But, despite her forgetfulness in every single situation I still love her because she is my incredible older sister. Depending on what you think the powerful word of forgiving means, you may forgive the wrong person and only hurt yourself. I believe that you should forgive the aggressor, the despicable individual that did whatever it is that makes you suffer physically or mentally. • 19. Reflection Paper Have you ever had to deal with a serious issue in your life? Maybe you have accomplished something that was challenging? Have these events ever made you realize something about yourself? For the most part, everyone has dealt with something that made them find something about themselves. The person could have won a sporting event or they could have lost a loved one. For instance, one thing that has made me realize something about myself was when my grandmother died. My grandmother, just like Maria Gatta, passed away due to cancer. She was a very important aspect of my life and when she passed it made me realize a few things about my character and life. It showed me that it is more important to remember than to forget and that I can bounce back from problems. Overall, everyone learns a lesson from all events in life, good, or bad. At first, when I lost my grandmother I was heartbroken. She was always there for me, through thin and thick. From the day I was born she was right by my side, taking me to the beach, or teaching me how to play sports. When I first learned of her death I was devastated. I thought that there was no point and I was so mad at God for taking her away from not just me, but all of my young cousins and new family members to come. They would have never met her, which just made me more sad. They would never know what a "nana story" was, or ever truly understand her one of a kind personality. His father was a railroad worker while his mother was a teacher who passed shortly after his birth. Neruda had two half siblings when growing up. Education He attended Temuco Boy's School, where he published his first poems at the age of 13 under the name Pablo Neruda to the daily La Mañana. This was because Neruda wished to hide his poetry from his father who was not in agreement with Neruda's dream. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Neruda seems a very passionate person as displayed in the two poems analysed; 'If you forget me" and 'Your laughter'. What I think of this Person I believe that Pablo Neruda led an extraordinary life. Neruda would've had an interesting life, experiencing different ways of life through being a consul and writing poetry to share his experiences. Although I cannot relate to Pablo Neruda's poetry, it still speaks loudly and conveys a lot of emotion. Pablo Neruda is a person who would be easily liked as he was an open soul and authored gentle poetry. POETRY analysis 'If you forget me' by Pablo Neruda is a poem that has a peaceful and calming aura. My initial thought when the thought was one of confusion as the poem didn't make complete sense. 'If you forget me' is based upon the subject of forgetting. This poem was composed to demonstrate that if you've forgotten someone, don't worry for they've already forgotten you. Although, if you find yourself thinking of them often, then so are they. If thinking of them is a routine, then you should find them. Neruda has conveyed this message through stanzas four and six. "If suddenly you forget me do not look for me, for I shall already have forgotten you."

  • 26. I Want To Forget Short Story There is much about this cinderblock building I want to forget if I ever make it out. I want to forget how they shoved additional consciousnesses into my head, I want to forget how they've stripped me of my name and given me a number instead. There is much I want to forget about this place, but there is one person, one child I want to need to remember. Rebecca was her name, she stood at 37 inches tall, 93.98 centimetres, the size of a four–year–old. Her hair was a curly gold, and her eyes a beautiful honey. According to her file, she weighed 25 pounds, almost eight pounds below healthy. I tried to keep her fed, but she accepted minimal, more concerned about my food intake. She always had a stuffed giraffe tucked under her arm and a silver necklace clasped around her neck. She was always smiling, even when she has to fight. She'd give her giraffe a kiss on the head, promise she'd be back, and hand him to me before turning to follow the scientist to prepare for battle. Afterward, she'd call my name and run to me, where I'd scoop her up and give her giraffe back. She always had troubled dreams the night after a fight, so she slept in my cell while I kept watching. Nobody stopped her. I refuse to forget the first day we met when I first saw her skittering away from the larger animals. At first, I figured I'd been wrong, that the scientists, as cruel as they were, would never select a child so undersized. But there she was again, this time being thrust against the wall after progressing too close to a table. I remember with a twinge of compunction how I hadn't done anything at first, just followed, an unnoticed spectator. I probably wouldn't have done anything if Dani hadn't emerged and taken control of the situation. She's the one who caused the buffer of air that tenderly nudged the small child in our direction. I remember she had taken a while to find us, but once she had, she gave a smile that lit up the room. Dani beamed back and I felt my cheeks grow tight, for it had been a while since any of us had reason to smile. Once with us, she amazed even kind–hearted Dani by sitting on our lap and leaning back against us, trusting us to keep her safe. It had been another reminder that she was still a child, still ... • 30. Detergination In Peter Cherche's 'Where Is She?' In the poem, "Where is She?" by Peter Cherches, the speaker focuses on a man who has a feeling of loss after an important woman in his life goes missing. After the woman goes missing, the man begins to think about her so much, that over time, he begins to forget her. The poem describes the man's loneliness through his memory and imaginations of this woman while he is trying to hold onto every last memory he has of her. Peter Cherches uses words describing images in a man's imagination to show the loneliness he was experiencing without the woman that he believes he cannot live without, but as he keeps forgetting more about this woman, he begins to live without her within his imagination. Throughout the poem, the speaker used the man's loneliness to describe the feeling of loss. The title of the poem, "Where is She?", clearly shows the man's need for this woman to come back into his life so he can move on with her. The man does not want to have to think about what it would be like if she is still in his life, he would rather have her with him in that moment of loneliness instead of experiencing it alone and be able to live their lives together, not separately. "It got to the point where my imaginings no longer included her." (Line 6–7) Once the woman disappears this causes the man to come to a conclusion that she may be gone forever, and makes him overthink the question of her return and eventually exclude her from his future through his strong imagination. In this poem he ties in three messages about, how people tend to look away when bad things happen, suffering is surrounded by the hustle and bustle of life, and when bad things happen others never forget. In the poem, Musee des Beaux Arts" the first message is, when bad things happen, people tend to look the other way. For example, even in the most beautiful places suffering happens. • 36. Comparing Ode To The Artichoke And If You Forget Me "Ode to the Artichoke" and "If You Forget Me," two poems by Pablo Neruda, can be considered similar and different when juxtaposed to one another. "Ode to the Artichoke" transforms an artichoke into a warrior through the analysis of its appearance. "If You Forget Me", on the other hand, depicts Pablo Neruda's struggle as he leaves his home, the nation of Chile. When comparing and contrasting the two poems, the structures, meanings, and poetic devices found within can be seen as having both differences and similarities. In "Ode to the Artichoke", Neruda uses personification as he gives human qualities and emotions to an artichoke. In doing so, he uses the concept of a warrior as a metaphor, and imagery, to describe the artichoke's manifestation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When concerned with structure, both poems are written in the form of unequal stanzas. As each poem begins, Neruda slowly eases the readers into the main theme. In "Ode to the Artichoke," for example, Neruda gradually introduces the theme of fate and rebellion through the simple metaphor comparing the artichoke with that of a warrior. However, in "If You Forget Me," the decorative explanation of the Neruda's homeland is a tool to slowly introduce his exile from Chile. The similar structure can be further understood by analyzing the shift in tone that takes place after the first big stanza of each poem. In addition to structure, both "Ode to the Artichoke" and "If You Forget Me," use tone, specific diction, and imagery as poetic devices to enhance the meaning of the poems. Likewise, the poems both share a similar meaning since they related to the historical time period in which Neruda had life struggles. Opposing the government and forced to leave Chile, Neruda was inspired to write these two ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Why Actions Speak Louder Than Words My Dad once told me "Apologizing to someone may not do anything to that person; you have to apologize physically to help them out because speaking to him will just go in through one ear and out the other." Personally, I suppose that actions speak louder than words due to experiences in my life. In particular, one day I was in a soccer game, and I was the goalkeeper. Meanwhile, the game proceeded and then there was a free kick; the opponent was approaching the ball to shoot it at me, but he stared at me like a raging lion, and he ripped through the ball with all his force, and the ball came at me going at one hundred miles per hour. As a child I lived with my mom, cousins, aunts, uncles, great uncle, and great grandma. I was always entertained and learning. My family taught me how to write in cursive and how to count, but they also taught me life lessons that I will never forget. My great uncle, Paul, taught me righty tighty, lefty loosey and how to tell a good joke. Uncle Paul also taught me that drowning your sorrows with prescription pills is just as lethal as any illegal drug. My great grandma, Bobby, taught me the importance of telling others that I love them. Every night before I went to sleep, she would run her fingers through my hair and down my back. Bobby would tell me everything that she loved about me. She also taught me the importance of pain and that I need to be honest with others, even when it hurts. • 46. Analysis Of If You Forget Me Pablo Neruda's, "If You Forget Me" explores the relationship between lovers in cases of differing degrees of affection. It begins with a description of all the things that remind him of his love. It then shifts to the repercussions of a forgotten love, finally finishing with two lovers mutually committed to each other. Throughout, Neruda uses personification, metaphors, repetition, juxtaposition, periodic sentences, and imagery to express the dependence of a relationship on the fervor of the attachment one party feels towards the other, leading to the interpretation that one must reciprocate the sentiments felt towards themselves to get the most out of life. In the first two stanzas of the poem Neruda uses "you" and "yours" not only to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is also a sense of betrayal by his lover in this section. The word "decide" in the sequence of his forsaking, emphasizes the perspective that his lover marooned him, further highlighted by the fact that he is left "at the shore". This shore is presumably an island, which reinforces his newfound aloneness. Additionally, "you" and "me" serve to make it a very personal jilting. It is not just him be forgotten and left, but him being forgotten and left by his love. These stanzas also illustrate the importance of time. Neruda states "if little by little you stop loving me/ I shall stop loving you little by little." The repetition is used to show that his feelings will mirror the one he loves. The use of a periodic sentence creates suspense and accents the gravity of his lovers actions. The next stanza uses "suddenly" and "already" similarly. When taken together these two stanzas show the mirroring of his feelings in an abrupt cessation as well as a gradual distancing. If they don't love him, he doesn't love them, and thus the relationship ends. Neruda uses "on that day,/ at that hour," to make it clear that the exact moment he is forgotten, his lover will be forgotten as well, assenting that when in love, the feelings felt toward oneself should be reciprocated, for if the attachment can be neglected, the relationship isn't what it should be. She'd give her giraffe a kiss on the head, promise she'd be back, and hand him to me before turning to follow the scientist to prepare for battle. Afterward, she'd call my name and run to me, where I'd scoop her up and give her giraffe back. She always had nightmares the night after a fight, so she slept in my cell while I kept watching. Nobody stopped her. I don't want to forget the first day we met when I first saw her skittering away from the larger brutes. In the book, Lennie, a big strong guy and his friend George are on a journey away from their home town Weed, to a job on a ranch. Lennie is not the sharpest knife in the drawer and makes many mistakes. George and Lennie already had to leave their town from a mistake that Lennie made, holding on to a girls soft dress because he liked the feel of it. On the ranch, the boys are hoping to make just enough money to buy their own piece of land and live off of it. But after Lennie accidentally murdered his bosses wife from touching her hair because it was soft, he ran away. He didn't know how to handle his strength abilities. Everyone on the ranch wanted to kill him but George didn't so George killed him to protect Lennie. Since Lennie is clueless, forgetful, and has remorse for his actions, he has trouble getting his way through life and makes many mistakes on accident. Not understanding a lot of things makes Lennie seem like an innocent and dumb–witted character. Lennie is clueless because he doesn't understand or comprehend anything that is being said to him. Throughout the book Elie slowly begins to lose his faith, his father, and his dignity which is shown through the symbol of night. "We were given no food. We lived on snow; it took place of the bread. The days were like nights, and the nights left the dregs of their darkness in our souls"(Wiesel 94)." In this quote Elie states what the nights would bring to the Jews which is darkness. When Elie arrives at the camps, the author begins to use the corpse as a symbol of a living person who is dead inside. This is how Elie begins to see himself and others as, the living dead. "From the depths of the mirror, a corpse gazed back at me. The look in his eyes, as they stared into mine, has never left me (Wiesel 109)." When Elie looks into the mirror he can not recognize what he has become. He thinks of himself as one of the others who died like his family or the millions of others slaughtered right before his eyes. He essentially becomes a useless body that works on the outside but is undoubtedly damaged on the inside. Wiesel also brings the story to life with imagery that stimulates all of the senses. He illustrates the horror of the crematories with vivid words that make the reader feel the sympathy he feels."Never shall I forget that smoke. For this extended essay, I have decided to compare and contrast the poems, which have interested me, due to their differing perspectives and ideas on the subject on love and also the uniqueness in their respective poems. I have chosen 'If You Forget Me' and 'Love Sonnet 17' by Pablo Neruda and [I carry your heart with me(I carry it in] and [love is more thicker than forget] by E.E Cummings. This is seen by the quote, '(anywhere / I go you go,my dear;and whatever is done by only me is your doing,my darling)' In addition, it seems to be that he does not believe in 'fate' because his love for her is so profound that he does not require anything else from the world (i.e – 'the moon and the sun') which proves this strong feeling he has for his lover. Lastly, the 'tree called life' which contains the roots and the buds are essential because these are vital for the relationship to remain strong which is compared to a strong tree that would grow beyond all hopes and aspirations and reach the sky. The book, Night is written by Elie Wiesel, a winner of the Nobel Peace prize. In the book Night, Elie is the main character who is very religious at first. It begins with his family and him traveling to Auschwitz which his little sister and mother die. With only his father and him, they went through many hardships and moving from camp to camp. Unfortunately, Elie father did not survive the Holocaust but Elie did. By the end of the story, Elie did entirely lose his faith in God because he did not celebrate the important holidays, questioned God and his justice, and tries to forget his existence. One way that shows Elie loss of faith in religion is that he refuse to participate and enjoy the religious holidays. Once a religious Jewish who study the Kabbalah, Elie did not enjoy Rosh Hashana and pray like the other Jews. He also decided not to fast during Yom Kippur. "And then, there was no longer any reason for me to fast. I no longer accepted God's silence. As I swallowed my ration of soup. I turned that act into a symbol of rebellion, of protest against him"(Wiesel, 69). • 78. Tell Me, Forget Me Not By Hannah Neale Forget Me, Forget Me Not By Hannah Neale Foreword Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is a form of Dementia. Dementia is a depletion of mental ability caused by brain cells dying. However, many factors have been linked to the development of AD, and there is not yet a cure and the main cause is unknown. Most people develop AD over the age of 65. Alois Alzheimer first found AD in Germany during 1901. Although not much attention was paid to the disease at the time, AD is becoming an increasing worry in our society due to the ageing population. Introduction For this Assignment, my intention is to examine a range of current treatments used for AD and to compare their effectiveness in terms of improving the quality of life for the patient. This has a significant effect on pharmacologists in terms of determining the best treatments to help narrow down the most suitable drug for treating AD. Antipsychotics Neuroleptics are the typical antipsychotics used for treating AD and other disorders. Neuroleptics work by blocking dopamine receptors found in the mesolimbic stratal mesocortical systems of the brain. In a controlled study, 59% of patients on neuroleptics and 41% of those taking the placebo saw a decrease in mental distress. This suggests that there was a minor improvement in the patients quality of life, due to treatment with these drugs. (Juillerat Mahwah, A–C. et al, 2003) However, the level of improvement of the patients AD varied in the study, which was not taken ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
