experimental replicates. The samples were then DNased using DNaseI and made into 4
independent cDNA reactions using the reverse transcription kit, SuperScriptII, and random

Finally, TV characters have seen a rise in portrayals of those with mental disability. For the
purpose of this paper, it can include obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), Down Syndrome,
schizophrenia, Asperger s, or a learning disability. Criminal Minds follows the BAU task force
as it follows criminals over the years. Dr. Spencer Reid, a main character, and his mother suffer
from mental disabilities. Dr. Reid, is a genius, and his mother has schizophrenia. As a title
character, schizophrenia is often brought up and showcased as well as Spencer s intelligence. His

The earliest presence of rail travel in Australia began in 1854, first developed within states to link
major settlements with various resources. The idea of intercolonial transportation began circa 1855:
a network of railways systems crossing the country and connecting major settlements. Railways
slowly expanded as settlements developed further inland, with rail essential in bringing farm and
mining produce to capital cities and ports. Wallangarra, a town situated on the New South Wales
border, 200km south west of Brisbane, was one of the first Queensland settlements to establish
intercolonial rail transportation in 1887, and it may have been one of the busiest. Its efforts in
connecting two colonies New South Wales and Queensland post federation held significance in the
town s progress into the 20th century.
Now a heritage listed building and site, the Wallangarra Railway Station has seen an array of
change and excitement in its 100 Years. An inquiry into just how important the station was during
colonial trade and transportation as well as the town s development as a result of its presence was
undertaken through a local site study of the Railway s building and surrounding area. The findings

For this project I learnt and gained proficiency in several civil engineering topics like retaining
walls, Standard compaction test, Direct shear test and Geotechnical engineering methods, etc. I
have done thorough research before design work and got expertise in retaining walls its

In this project, Retaining Wall was designed to serve the purpose of supporting levelled ground.
The site mostly consisted of gravelly sand with 5 10% silt. This served as a backfill material to
the retaining wall. In addition to this, the backfill was filled with crushed boulders covered with
sand serving the levelling purposes.
CE 3.9
In the very beginning of this project, I collected soil samples from site to analyse the backfill
material and to determine the soil properties by conducting different laboratory experiments.
Various tests performed and analysed the back fill as follows:
* Standard compaction test (determined the dry density and optimum moisture content)
* Direct shear Test (evaluated C Г parameters)
* Sand replacement Test (determined the bulk density of soil).
With the laboratory results, I analysed the wall by considering the Rankine s Earth Pressure
theory for different failure conditions like Failure by Sliding, Failure by Overturning, Failure of
soil due to excessive pressure at toe or tension in the heel and Bending failure of stem or base.
