1. Preschool Year 2
Dear Parents, 12-23 June
Activities we will be doing in Preschool
Throughout this half term the children will be practising for the end of
term play. The play is loosely based on a train that is running late. All the
children will be given a part and all will be asked if they want to say a line.
It is a great opportunity for the children to showcase the songs and dances
they have been learning throughout the year.
In maths we will be concentrating on counting, talking about the next
number and adding groups together. Keyworkers will be doing this
through one to one activities as well as in small groups.
We are excited to have caterpillars and eggs/chicks in preschool this half
term. The children will be able to observe how they develop and grow so
please ask your child about them and encourage their natural interest and
curiosity in science and nature.
Activities to do at home
Count lots of everyday things and add groups together. Use the
mathematical language of ‘add’ and ‘plus’ to describe what you are doing
when you are adding two or more groups together.
Use books or the internet to look up information about caterpillars,
butterflies and chickens.
Notice
Please put sun cream on your child before bringing them to Preschool and
please bring a sunhat for them.
Advance notice – the end of term play will be on the last day of term,
Friday 21 July at 10:45. It will last for about 30 minutes afterwards we
invite you to stay for coffee and homemade cakes. Please bring the
children at the usual time. You will be responsible for your child as soon
as the play ends.
