Dear Parents,
Activities we will be doing in Preschool:
 Watching our tiny caterpillars as they grow bigger and talking about
how they are going to change into butterflies. We will also be listening
to related stories such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.
 Caring for the eggs/chicks which will be arriving this week.
 Using mathematical language as we count objects, creatures, anything
that we can! We will also be encouraging the children to recognise
groups of 1,2, or 3 objects as we count them out from a larger group.
Activities to do at home with your child:
 Go to the library and see if you can find any information books or
stories about caterpillars, butterflies or chicks. Bring them in to
show us as we love to read different books.
 Encourage your child to count as you sort out the washing, pairing up
socks, finding enough pegs to hang them on the line etc.
Notices:
 We are hoping to have some sunshine so please remember to bring a
named sunhat for your child and put it in the box provided. Please also
apply suncream to your own child before the start of the preschool
session.
 Several of the children have been affected by chicken pox so please
be aware and watch out for spots! They may return to school once all
the spots have dried and scabbed over.
