Technical Data Sheet LOCTITE® 7471™ February-2008 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Handling precautions LOCTITE® 7471™ provides the following product Activator must be handled in a manner applicable to highly characteristics: flammable materials and in compliance with relevant local regulations. Technology Activator for LOCTITE® anaerobic adhesives and sealants The solvent can affect certain plastics or coatings. It is Chemical Type Amine and Thiazole recommended to check all surfaces for compatibility before Solvent Acetone and Isopropanol use. Appearance Transparent, yellow to amber liquid LMS GENERAL INFORMATION Viscosity Very low This product is not recommended for use in pure oxygen Cure Not applicable and/or oxygen rich systems and should not be selected Application Cure acceleration of with a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidizing LOCTITE® anaerobic products materials. For safe handling information on this product, consult the ® Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). LOCTITE 7471™ is used where increased cure speed of LOCTITE® anaerobic products is required. It is especially Under no circumstances should activator and adhesive be recommended for applications with passive metals or inert mixed directly as liquids. surfaces and with large bond gaps. LOCTITE® 7471™ is Use only in a well ventilated area particularly recommended when prevailing temperature is low (<15 °C). Where aqueous washing systems are used to clean the surfaces before bonding, it is important to check for compatibility of the washing solution with the adhesive.
