INTRODUCTION
A touch screen is an input device That Allows
Users To Operate a PC By Simply touching the
screen.
1. The Display Screen Has A SensitiveGlass
Placed on it And We Could theDesired Input By
Touching It.
2. A touch Screen is based on CRT(Cathode Ray
Tube) Technology, Thataccepts direct on screen
History
*Historians consider the first touchscreen to be
a capacitive touchscreen invented by E.A.
Johnson inthe UK around 1965.
• The inventorinitially developed this
technologyfor air traffic control
*2002 Microsoft’s Windows XP Tablet
2007 Apple’s iPhone (Multi-touch)
1993 Apple’s Newton andIBM’s Simon
 WHEN IT IS APPLICABLE ?
1. It allows users to interact directly
with what is being displayed, rather
than indirectly using a mouse or
keyboard
2.Can be used without any
intermediate device
3.Found in modern smartphones,
videogames, pc tablets, navigation
systems, etc. ..
ADVANTAGES
* Touchscreens provide end users an
opportunity to interact with the computer,
improving the human-computer interface and
improving the user’s experience.
* Touchscreens provide an easy to understand,
intuitive interface for the human brain.
* Fumbling with a mouse and keyboard isn’t
always the easiest thing to do and touchscreen
technology can help. It Saves Time
DISADVANTAGES
Some disadvantages are that the user must be
within arms reach of the display, it would be
difficult to select small items
It can caused you to feel a little electric shocks
if you touch the screen with your wet fingers.
They cost more than alternative devices
The screen gets dirty from finger prints.
The user has to sit/stand close to the screen.
.PADS:
1. iPad
2. Samsung Tab 10.
13. Sony Vaio Duo 11 – Ultrabook
GAMING GEARS:
1. Nintendo 3DS
2. PS Vita
3. Nintendo Wii U
TOUCH SCREEN MARKET
Touch screen interfaces are
becoming increasingly common in
mobile consumer devices, such as
mobile phones, tablets and e-books.
ID Tech Ex forecasts revenue of the
touchscreen market to be US$14bn
in 2012 and to triple in the next
decade.
TECHNOLOGIES
Four different technologies used to
make touchscreens today:
1.Resistive
2.Capacitive
3.Surface Acoustic
Wave
4.Infrared LED or
Optica
Conclusion
1. As it is very friendly, fast, accurate, easy for the
novicesand fun to operate. It has been widely accepted.
2. Today, This Technology is been adopted by
computer, mobile users of all abilities because it is
innovative, simple
.
3. In Future there will be no usage of mouse and
keyboardsas they will be replaced by touchscreens for
sure.
4. Designers are trying to use touch screen to simplify
inputcommands
