Text books
: A text book is a book used in the study of a subject:
as
a : one containing a presentation of the principles of a
subject
b : a literary work relevant to the study of a subject
Example Teaching of Social Studies, English grammar class X
(NCERT)
In simple words we can say book that contains detailed
information about a subject for people who are studying that
subject.

Reference books
a book intended to be consulted for information on
specific matters. Examples. Atlas, dictionary, directory,
encyclopedia, handbook, thesaurus, or any other work
designed to be used in finding specific items of
information, rather than for cover to cover reading.
Reference books can be used in the library and not be
borrowed from the library but can be photocopy.

Supplementary Textual Material
•Beyond the text or Additional information
that is used for Further discussion or
development of arguments that is not
permitted to text books its called
supplementary textual material. Examples
Table, figures, audio clips, newspaper
references, videos, databases (Online books,
Journals, Research Papers), Animated
movies etc.

What is Online ?
1.Computer or device connected to a network (such as
Internet) and ready to use (or be used by) other
computers or devices.
2.Database, file, or webpage available for downloading
or reading.
3.Services such as ticket reservation systems, or
capability such as online help, available directly
through a computer system or under its direct control.

Meaning of Databases:
A database is a collection of information that is
organized so that it can easily be accessed, managed,
and updated. In one view, databases can be classified
according to types of content: bibliographic, full-text,
numeric, and images.
