inequality it is almost impossible to step outside of the norm and become your own person. "Media
creates meanings about gender, and plays an important role in the way we understand it as part of

Gender refers to the label an individual assign for themselves as distinguished from sex which refers
to the biology of an individual. Gender is a social construct because it is something created and
enforced by society. There is an abundance of gender identities, but the media tends to only focus on

throughout history, and these qualities are enforced through the media. Women are typically

Many Americans live in fear from that one person who takes there anger and fear out on them
physically or mentally. A bully is somebody who puts themselves above somebody else, as if they

Aside from Arthur Penn's Bonnie and Clyde film, there was another impactful movie that became

It is simple: how much wealth an individual possesses defines one's social class. What do those who
possess more money have that those with less don't? Power. An example that can be seen in our
daily lives is the workforce. Those who receive more wage hourly usually contains the most power

Picture a world where one must meet the expectations of being normal, where diversity is not
accepted, or even worse, a detached society where emotions no longer exist. By reading the first few
pages of Fahrenheit 451, readers immediately get the feeling of a dystopian society. Firemen
creating fires, instead of extinguishing them, and technology that has taken their society to a whole
new level of entertainment. These are exaggerated ideas right off the bat, yet Ray Bradbury carries
the readers through the story in order to show them his own outlook on the future– in fact, all
dystopian works share an aspect of how the world could turn out to be. There are many ways of
creating a true dystopian story, although social commentary is by far the most impactful. This is a
stylistic element that creators use to express their opinions about society. Fictional novels and films
such as Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451, The Young Elites by Marie Lu, and Kurt Wimmer's
Equilibrium, each provide a different message to the audience, including the dangers of advanced

"All in the Family" differs from show of today in many ways. The many derogatory and racist

The amount of data produced in the world is increasing exponentially, and we are a part of this
phenomenon. We all use email, phones, social media, and credit cards. The new technologies that
we are bringing home, such as smart cars and smart TVs, are collecting more and more data. Boyd
