1. I priced the magazine at £3.99 as i
didn't want the magazine to be too
pricey since my target audience are
young and will have less disposable
income, the price is also based from
the cost of other magazines.
I chose to favor males who are 16-25
in the magazine based on my Venn
diagram study but it isn’t completely
inaccessible for other groups.
I chose to do it on the rock genre
because its my preferred genre as
well as the fact that it was the favorite
genre in my online survey.
2. Mission statement
I discussed the main
reasons for my mission
statement being like it is
in my mission
statement post. In
summary this is the
direction I wanted to
take the magazine
considering my
audience and current
social attitudes.
3. This is my flat plan that I made on blink space (Its out of focus because my trial ran out and I couldn’t view
the full sized plan). This is what the full magazine would look like. The content satisfies the wants of my
focus group (ratio of text to pictures).

4. I chose a last minute change to my font because so
words on the cover were not easy to read so I it
changed to Sitka Text Bold Italic. This also looked
more appealing on the new masthead.
Also like my photography plan I want
Semble’s splash title to be the same
as the magazines house style equality
is again demonstrated.
I chose black and white so I could make high
contrasting text as well as giving everyone a neutral
color. I wanted the photos to be medium shots to
give the reader a feeling of exclusivity and I want this
plan to stay the same for everyone featured in the
magazine to demonstrate equality.

I want my model(s) to wear normal street clothes. I think this will give the magazine the
down to earth look I want

For the cover of the magazine I want to use the studio at the college so I can get high key
lighting and a clear background so the text on the cover contrasts well.

6. Focus group/Designs
This is my chosen design for my magazine, I went back to my
focus group and asked there opinions and they all chose this
design. The double page spread design changed a lot when
further design took place because I realized I allocated a very
small space for text.
This was my focus groups second favorite they loved the design
but they weren't fans of the blue and preferred the red color
scheme.
This was my focus group's least favorite design, due to the
layout of the pages, And the close up photo on the cover was
overwhelming.
