PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
HITTER
Dalton Perry, Texas A&M University - Kingsville, SR, OF, Lake Jackson, Texas, Brazowood HS
Perry led the team to three victories over St. Mary’s University, batting .583 with five extra base hits, six RBI
and six runs... the senior began the week with a 3-for-5 performance at the Rattlers, tallying three runs, four
RBI, two doubles, a home run and a walk... he followed with a home run, three total hits, two runs and two
RBI in the game one win over St. Mary’s Saturday and went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a walk in game two...
Perry also stole a base and finished with six walks and no strikeouts... defensively, he ended the week with
four putouts and an assist... the senior is in his first season at Texas A&M-Kingsville after transferring from Sam
Houston State.
PITCHER
Austin Moore, West Texas A&M University, SR, RHP, Tucson, Arizona, Mountain View HS
Moore had another strong start as he went six innings, allowing one earned run, walked one and fanned four
while allowing six hits in a 6-1 win over Oklahoma Christian in the opener of a three-game series Friday night.
Moore held the Eagles to just a .240 average from the plate as he now is 2-1 on the year with a 2.38 ERA in four
starts. Moore has pitched 22.2 innings, walking 12 and fanning 27 as teams are hitting just .179 against him.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Christian Loya, West Texas A&M University, hit three home runs, drove in five runs and scored four in the
Buffs’ 2-1 series win over Oklahoma Christian over the weekend. Loya went 5 for 10 with a double as well. It
was his first career round-trippers. In the opener, Loya hit a solo shot in the fourth inning for a 3-0 lead as WT
won 6-1. He then belted two home runs in the finale going 2 for 3 with two round-trippers, two RBI and two
runs scored. He leads the team with three home runs on the season and is the second Buff to hit two home
runs in a game this season. For the week, he reached base at a .545 clip and slugged 1.500. This season he is 8
of 15 from the plate in six games with four starts, scoring seven runs, with three doubles and three home runs,
while driving in five.
DylanNault, Eastern New Mexico University, led his team in total hits and RBIs, recording six and seven,
respectively. Naults .462 average from the plate helped the Hounds go 2-1 over the weekend against Adams
State, snapping a five game skid. Naults hitting streak stretched to 12 games, leading the team.

Eastern went 2-1 over the weekend, snapping a five game losing skid. The Greyhounds took the first two games
of their three game series against Adams State.
Tarleton State
Texas A&M-Kingsville
The Javelinas have now won seven straight games after sweeping South Central Region foe St. Mary’s in a
home-and-home series Thursday and Saturday... the Hogs are 7-3 on the year despite returning just one pitcher
with more than 10.0 innings on the mound... TAMUK begins LSC play hosting Cameron March 4-6 at Nolan Ryan
Field.
West Texas A&M
West Texas A&M is 11-3 on the year after winning a home series 2-1 over Oklahoma Christian over the
weekend...The Buffs won the opener 6-1 and then needed extra-innings and a walk of RBI single from senior
Trace Hansen to win the first game of a doubleheader Saturday 13-12 in eight innings...The Buffs held an 8-3
lead in the fourth, but OC plated eight runs over the next two innings for an 11-8 lead...WT tied the game in the
bottom of the sixth as OC went ahead 12-11 in the top of the eighth, but WT scored two runs in the bottom of
the frame for the win...In the nightcap, the Eagles pounded out 19 hits and 18 runs in an 18-6 win as WT was
run-ruled for the second time this season...The 19 hits allowed was a season-high as was the 18 runs allowed...
Despite the finale, WT hit .333 for the week as senior Matt Cole and redshirt freshman Christian Loya each went
5 for 10 from the plate...Loya hit three home runs for the weekend driving in five and scoring four runs...Cole
scored five times, hit two doubles and drove in two...The Buffs hit a season-high four home runs for a series,
but gave up five round-trippers as the staff struggled with a 9.38 ERA as the Eagles hit .376 with 12 doubles,
three triples and the five home runs...OC outscored WT 31-25 for the series...Seniors Austin Moore and Kyle
Tinius picked up wins for the Buffs as Tinius also earned his team-leading third save of the season...WT moved
up to fourth in this week’s NCBWA South Central Region Rankings and is 15th this week in the Collegiate
Baseball Newspaper D2 Poll...The Buffs conclude their 11-game home stand this weekend as LSC play begins
with Tarleton State coming to Wilder Park for a four game series beginning Friday.
