2. As part of the distribution process magazines and posters are to be
made this will show the audience who is in the film and or show what
the film is about. With the poster we needed to consider the main
image, typeface used, release date, slogan, from the producers of. As
well as this the colour has to be considered for the main image and the
text.
3. Extreme close up used to show the main
image and show what the main focus of the
film is about.
This is good because it clearly promotes the
film as the audience can identify the doll from
other parts of the package
This is bad because when the poster was
made the audience may not be able to see the
poster as well and this means the main image
is hard to see and the audience is left
wondering whether the photo is of the doll or
a real person
MAINIMAGE
Grey photo to show the dolls photo was taken
before coloured photos and this means that the
doll is older than the audience would think
This is good because it adds mystery to the doll
and makes the audience question what the film
will entail and question what the doll is capable of
This is bad when the photo was tinned down it
meant that it was hard to see and the photo was
almost blended into the background
The doll is looking directly at the
camera this would give the audience a
sense that the doll is looking them
straight in the face and this will make
the audience feel almost in fear of the
doll and this would make them want to
see the film more to see what the doll
is capable of
This is good because it means that the
audience would instantly be drawn into
the poster and want to see the film
more as the poster is very noticeable
and hard to ignore
This is bad because the bright contrast
on the doll would make it hard to see
the eyes and not a lot of the photo is
clear and the audience may not want to
see the film
4. Typeface The typeface is in red this says the name of the
film which is Pengyeulan with this the audience
know the title of the film.
This is good because makes the audience think
of all kinds of themes for the film, such as death,
love and romance, and danger, as well as this
there is a faint glow on the typeface and this is
to show that the location is as mysterious and
misleading such as the doll.
This is bad because the faint glow makes it hard
to see the tile of the film and his means that the
audience may have trouble reading the film title
There is a cobweb going through the title of the
film this show the audience how old the story of
the doll is and this shows how old the doll is
This is good because makes the audience think
about how old the doll is and makes hem
wonder what the dolls purpose or significance is
This is bad because the cobwebs show no link in
the film and this means that the audience may
find them odd as they are on the poster and
magazine
5. With this it will entice the audience to see the film as they would like to
know what happens in the film. As well as this there is another
typeface and this is used for both the slogan and the release date and
this is so there is not too many typefaces on the screen at once with
this the slogan “It’s all fun and games until the doll wants to play” is
also in red, this is so the audience would make a link between the
location, which is the name of the film, and the slogan that there will
be a death or love scene and they are able to interpret these ideas as
the red colours can mean either.
6. The typeface is in black this says coming soon
with this the audience will know the film will be
available to watch.
This is good because it makes the audience think
about the film and as it says coming soon this
would make the audience more excited for the
film and make generate more buzz
This is bad because as it says coming soon it
doesn’t give specific dates and this means that if
the audience is left waiting too long they will
lose interest and will watch another film
7. Slogan The slogan reads “It’s all fun and games
until the doll wants to play”
This is good because tells the audience
there is something suspicious about the
doll and this means that the audience
will want to see what will happen in the
film
The typeface is in red this

the audience think about the
film and what the doll would
be capable of
8. ReleaseDate The release date says coming soon
This is good because it makes the audience
more excited for the films release and will make
them want to watch the film
This is bad because as it says coming soon it
doesn’t give specific dates and this means that if
the audience is left waiting too long they will
lose interest and will watch another film
Coming soon is written in black
This is good because it makes it clear to the
audience and they can read when the release
date is and this is good because they wont get
this mixed with the text about the doll
This is bad because it doesn’t match the rest of
the poster with regards to the colour of the text
but this is good because it wont be mixed with
the rest of the text as it stands alone
9. Colours The colours help to establish the genre and
theme of the film and establishes the dolls
characteristics as the main image is of the
doll.
This is good because the whole poster is in a
light grey and with this the doll is almost
completely see through this means that the
audience will be able to see through the
dolls colourful domineer and see that there
is more to this doll than meets the eye
This is bad because it makes the main image
unclear and the audience may not be able
to decipher whether the main image is of
the doll or a little girl and this means that
they may not see what they expected in the
film and they may lose interest
As well as this there is a cobweb
on the poster and this is in a
darker grey and is placed under
the dolls eye to make it look like
they are crying
This is good because this would
show a darker side to the doll as
the cobweb shows that the doll
has been around for a long time
and is clearly very misleading.
