This document describes the process of creating a film poster for "Cerys' Thriller" from an original photo. Several revisions were made to the photo such as blurring the background, darkening Cerys' skin, and adding elements like a title, tagline, and credits. The poster also includes information like nominations, promotional logos, the production company ident, and age rating to make it look like a professional movie poster. The creator believes the final poster clearly conveys its message and stands out.

1. This is the original photo that I took of
Cerys. We chose to use this one as it looks
pretty real. With her black eye and her
hands over her mouth you can clearly tell
that this is a Thriller. I think that it is still a
really pretty photo, with the sandy woods
behind her. the long blonde hair shown
really shows that she is most likely to be in
a lot of trouble. Her white top shows her
innocence and the red hairband connotes
danger.

This is the edited version of the
photo. This puts the spotlight
on to Cerys, by blurring the
background behind her. We also
made her skin look darker and
dirtier, as if she has been out in
the woods for a really long
time.

2. We started adding things on to
bring across the sense of ‘this is a
film poster and not just a photo’.
The Title should have centre space
as it is the key part of information
that a viewer would need. We
decided to add a comment for ma
magazine, we thought that it
would be a good idea to link our
own magazine for synergy.
The Oscar nominee sections were added
to give the film mote credit. If a viewer
saw this they would assume that its
going to be really good, and will
hopefully watch it.
‘The Mallory’s World. Turned Upside
Down’ is a slogan we came up with as
something catchy to stick in the minds
of viewers. We then tried to create a
credit block as a film poster needs one.

Here you can see the progression of
the credit block. It is clear to see that
the font has changed, this is because
we wanted our credit block to look as
professional as real produced movie
posters do.
We also played around with where the
date would go. It looked better with
the credit block whole and extra
information and promotion strategies,
such as; the Imax and Real D 3D logos
at the bottom all together.

4. This is our final film poster. We added
our companies ident and the 15
certificate to it as these are a must,
every poster needs information like
this.
I really like our film poster I think that
it stands out and is very clear on its
message.
