How did you use media technologies
in the construction and research,
planning and evaluation stages?
• To display our blog we used the website wix.com. We also
used this at AS so we were familiar with how it worked. We
stuck with Wix as its creative and easy to access, we were able
to easily use this to the best of our abilities and were in
complete control of what was posted.
• Through Google mages we found inspiration from bands
like the courteeners and arctic monkeys for out poster and
digipack who are the same genre of the music video that
we are creating. Therefore we wanted the digipack and
poster to fit in with the genre and typical codes and
conventions of the genre so that the finalised product is
credible to an audience. The use of Youtube in the initial
research before creating the music video for finding a range
of music videos from a variety of genres until we decided
on the song beautifully unconventional by the band wolf
Alice. We then looked for typical stereotypical codes of the
indie genre so then we can carry them out and challenege
them within our music video
• For our music we started out by having a production meeting in which we shared an
discussed our initial ideas. We used the video camera from college which will hen be used to
film the music, we found that even using the camera for a short period of time the when it
came to filming the music video it helped and when it came to filming the video we would
know how to use the camera. We also used the studio within college, this enabled us to
control the lighting to create dim lighting for example shown in the unfocused eye clip in the
music video and we also used the coloured spotlights to stick with the house style of the
three products which is portrayed through the painting of the nails and shuffling of cards
clips. We also used the recording studio within college so that the instruments can be heard
to the best of their abilities with no distractions and can control what can and cant be heard
also showing it to be professional and sticking to the indie music video codes and
conventions. For the music video we used the video recorder to get the best results and
quality to make our video look outstandingly professional. With adobe premier pro and after
we were able to achieve this professional looks. Wit the aid of after affect we added various
effects and techniques for example we used the split screen to make it more interesting for
the audience as they can see how both characters facial expressions and can take how they
feel into consideration of how the scene should make them feel. The use of speeding up and
reversing clips helped us fit everything and helps the video link to the lyrics of the music
video ad also the beat for example linking what is in the clip to the lyrics and if it is a slow
beat slowing down the clip. Furthermore this was also heightened through the use of
repeating the same clip but in reverse if the lyrics are repeated. The use of colour overlay is
used the intensify the colour red and the significance of this colour to the music video and
also the lyrics suggesting love and danger.
• We used a cannon cameras to take photos for our digipack images and
advertising photo. The photoshoots took place on private land behind St Lukes
church in Orrelll Liverpool docks, an abandoned graffiti tunnel under the M6
motorway and the college studio. We decided to revisit video locations to give
them more creditability and carry on the theme through all aspects of the
products. We used adobe premier pro to edit out skills from As level were
transferred over from As level and we were constantly improving and
developing our skills learnt from AS for example the use of the cone tool was
developed through creating a shadow and in black and white behind the
actual image and also gaining new skills.
• We shared our video onto our twitter page which we were able to receive
feedback from our peers to help us reflect on our work. We used prezi,
slideshare, popplet and powtoon to display our evaluation we had learned
how to use these sights at AS level and therefore we were abet o answer our
each individual question successfully. We also created a podcast of our target
demographic to get their initial feedback and reactions of our finished
products.

We used the video camera from college which will hen be used to film the music, we found that even using the camera for a short period of time the when it came to filming the music video it helped and when it came to filming the video we would know how to use the camera. We also used the studio within college, this enabled us to control the lighting to create dim lighting for example shown in the unfocused eye clip in the music video and we also used the coloured spotlights to stick with the house style of the three products which is portrayed through the painting of the nails and shuffling of cards clips. We also used the recording studio within college so that the instruments can be heard to the best of their abilities with no distractions and can control what can and cant be heard also showing it ot be professional and sticking to the indie music video codes and conventions.
  3. We shared our video onto our twitter page which we were able to receive feedback from our peers to help us reflect on our work. We used prezi, slideshare, popplet and powtoon to display our evaluation we had learned how to use these sights at AS level and therefore we were abet o answer our each individual question successfully. We also created a podcast of our target demographic to get their intial feedback and reactions of our finished products.
